  • Review and durability test of the Tuf Shine Permanent Tire Shine Review.
According to Tuf Shine the cleaning proces is the most important. The tires need to be squeaky clean. After 11(!) cleaning attempts the tire was finally clean. No black came off the tire. You can see that as well when I clean it with the washmitt, it doesn't get black.
The drivers side of my car is far more in the sun than the passenger side. No tire dressing was longer present than 3-4 weeks due to the sun.
After 7 weeks it's still very visible that the coating is still present although it needs to stick on alot longer to really make it worth the time cleaning the tire. Cleaning the tires and applying the clearcoat took over 3 hours!

Looks like an Audi A6 wheel! So after 3 years+ would you still recommend this product? or something better than came out?

inexpensive "chip brushes" work better than anything else i have found for applying tire shine, regardless of type

Dat moet nog blijken :) De eerste resultaten zijn goed maar het schoonmaken moet wel de moeite waard zijn.

Use dawn to get old silicone based dressing off in 1 pass.

No, Dawn does not work. I tried, it still left the tire gel on. What actually works is a degreaser. I bought Super Clean in the purple spray bottle. It got rid of the old tire gel in just two quick washes.

I am really surprised as Dawn is a strong degreaser...Did you use it full strength?

    • @DrMarvinLara
      @DrMarvinLara Před 8 lety

+Digme a Hole Dawn is NOT a degreaser. it's a dish washing soap. Degreasers are 100x stronger and you're not supposed to touch them with your skin or, paint cause it could eat away after prolonged exposure.
I tried with just a straight Dawn on a brush and scrubbed and nothing. It might work on those tire shines that only last 1 week, but I had a long lasting tire gel on my tires.

+commandercool1983 I understand it would not take off the gel but please don't say dawn is not a degreaser. it was made to cut through grease and oils. people have been using it for that purpose for as long as it's existed.

The shine only comes out when the tire is wet.

I would call it long lasting not permanent. I bet I could strip any tire again you put on it short of wood clear coat.

clinton fisher I don't call it permanent, the brand does. It's not permanent no, that's for sure :) At the moment I'm sticking to Gyeon Q² Tire.

this doesnt even make your tire shine -_-

blove9387 you are supposed to layer it for glossy shine. One coat gives just a darker, satin like shine.

Ronnie Massey Than something when rong with the application. Either you didn't clean it well or not enough. It's sticking quite a long time but you must clean your tires when you wash the car with regular shampoo. It's not permanent, that's for sure. Would I buy it again? Nope, simply because the cleaning is way too much work for me but it doesn't wash straight off so there must be something that went rong.

Not worth the effort. I just use an aerosol spray - so quick & easy, but admittedly costly.
