Just enough cracker crumb to bind the chunks of crab together. I been to florida back in 1993, we stopped at a restaurant halfway through our drive from michigan. My uncle said the place was famous for seafood. It was an hour drive east of i-75, i dont remember what state it was as i was 10 years old at the time but i had the crab cakess, they must have been a lb per piece, it was like my first hit of crack, for days all i could think about those crab cakes with a little shot of lemon juice and melted butter. I still fantasize about it. So divine!!

From what he was describing they were probably using older crab meat that's started to get fishy. The ingredients didn't seem horrible but I guess we don't know how fresh they are.
a lot of his stuff is opposite of good imo its not even labelled right he in past complained about a shepherds pie not being made with lamb and being cottage pie instead and well wouldnt you know gordon ramseys shepherds pie is in fact.. cottage pie

Even though I know Larry has rated a couple of Gordon Ramsay's frozen offerings quite high, this one alone leaves me to fear trying even the highest rated.
Here in the Eastern Panhandle of WV I get the best mail order crab cakes from G&M in Linthicum Heights, Maryland. They are expensive but worth it.

Wolfie: you could have cooked 1/2 of them in an air fryer and the other 1/2 in the oven to compare both methods with one box.😉
I recently got some crab cakes from costco and they were pretty much crab chunks fused with shredded crab and some seasoning, mostly crab really, always refreshing to find good frozen stuff..unlike these sad excuses

Maybe I am not so mad anymore that I developed a shellfish allergy. I miss eating GOOD shellfish, but it gives me a valid reason to never eat these. I still really really miss eating shrimp and clams and... Not enough to go to the ER again, but I do miss being able to eat shellfish.

Here in North Florida, we generally serve our crab cakes on the crab shell. The last crab caked I had at a little hole-in-the-wall joint were way too spicey hot! Just not well done. 🙄

The best crab cake I ever had was in Baltimore. I have had them in Florida and San Francisco and all are good. But Maryland stands out.

That proper crab cake in the beginning of the video looked awesome.
As Marylanders we almost never order crab cakes out of the area. G&M in south of Baltimore has a good one as does The Narrows in Grasonville. We once ordered one at a posh restaurant in London mostly for schits and giggles and it sort of looked like these.

I have these all the time and they are good. I deep fry mine though. It takes less than 2 minutes and they come out great.

I wouldn't be surprised is Gordon had nothing to do with this and it's just whoever has the rights to use his likeness.
Ramsay is a joke, never trusted him because he doesn't know how to sharpen knives, and this is proof of his lack of integrity and his disrespect of his own brand.

Something new I noticed at the grocery store was a line of Benihana frozen meals you should try out
I like the way they tasted. They are not soggy and are crispy. I air fried mine. These are the way crab cakes taste like where I live in Alabama. It might could use some moisture otherwise they tasted great.

Getting it In early this morning
My crab cake recipe uses an egg and crushed crackers for a binder. It also uses old bay, mayonnaise, and worcestershire sauce. Amazing. Also I use lump crab meat from the Choptank river in Maryland.
I find it hilarious that Gordan Ramsey has a frozen food line 😂😂😂 after all the times he trashes on frozen food 😂😂😂

Hailing from Baltimore and a self proclaimed crabcake official, less is more in a crabcake. NO onion NO green peppers. And broiled is best.

The best crab cakes come from a place called G&M in Linthicum MD. There are a few other places that make good ones but from my experience G&M has the best

I had to go to Baltimore a few years ago and I had a lot of time to kill while there. Crab cakes there were expensive but the best part of my stay.
It’s all about how much money Ramsay can make until consumers realize this product is crap, then it will be discontinued.

So far I've tried GR Shepard's pie which should have been labeled soup, GR lasagna with the worst gummy pasta I've ever had and finally the fish and chips of which I rated a two out of ten so no more of these celebrity meals for me. YUK!!!

It's wild how dramatic the difference in quality in this line is. I know the Wellington Bites got a great review, as did several other of the frozen dinners, but this and the fish & chips were awful!
The guy, Gordon, that thrashed people for using microwaves… now makes frozen foods you microwave…
Tried these to see for myself and yes they are terrible. Also tried Seapak brand beer battered crab poppers and wow even worse! Why so much salt on these things? Guess to cover the terrible taste. Guess all the Gordon frozen meals can't be a winner. Thanks for the video.

I've only read the title...this is a meaningless question, because all crab cakes are delicious. The idea that Gordon Ramsey or anyone else can't make a good crab cake is moot. It's like flan. There's good flan, and better flan. It's all delicious. Cheers.

Gordon Ramsey is a made for TV chef that never went through the culinary arts program, I think he has a two year degree in hospitality management. He's just another reality star hack that got lucky. These things smell like the Chesapeake Bay at low tide.

So, I gather that these crab cakes weren't all that good. Having been stationed in Norfolk, VA twice, 79-82 and 93-95, I can see how hard it is to find an edible crab cake. I gave up and went for the pulled pork, oysters and clams.
