Nice collection of locos, Gareth. It looked a bit strange with Great Western locos hauling LMS and LNER carriages, but the event looked like they had plenty of visitors, so I hope it was a success- the heritage lines certainly need the income at the moment.
Your captions said to compare the departure of Pendennis Castle with that of Tawe. I assume that you were referring to Tawe's wheel slip, to which the West Country class were prone due to their light weight.
I don't think Tawe Valley looks right in the Black Southern Railway livery, as it is in BR rebuilt condition, but it is not my loco (unfortunately) so it is up to the owners.

The reason there were no GWR carriages is that most of them are awaiting new door locks. Present day passengers don't realise that you have to completely turn the outside door handle on a GWR carriage to securely close the carriage door and not just slam shut it. It's now considered a potential safety hazard.
I don't remember the exhaust from a Castle being so loud. The exhaust beat from Pendennis Castle was very sharp and loud and this contrasted with the muffled exhaust from the 3-cylinder Bullied. Also, Pendennis Castle just accelerated hard away from Highley station while Taw Valley made a very careful start to avoid slipping. Didn't like the Bullied in a black livery either.
