- Preparing the frameset for the Lightest Gravel Bike in the World! And yes, similarly to my Aethos it will have fully invisible cable routing - exciting!

hello @TwistedWheels where can I buy the compression plug?
TIA
@@LasangPilipino check the description of the video
Thank you.😊
oh my goodness my jaw dropped seeing that expansion plug. didn't know something like that existed!
Can‘t wait for the final build I have both the aethos and the crux and would love to do something similar ❤
Me too haha. Will make a video as soon as I get the final component ✊🏼
Love your work, love your bikes! Can’t wait to see the full build
I'm excited to see the full build! The colour scheme looks great! :)
This is freaking awesome, can’t wait to see the full build!!
Awesome build!
kudos to your chief designer! looking forward to seeign the rest of the build - keep coming back to your content (subscribed way back) to look at the wheel builds - looking for light spec for upcoming big climbing events (road)
Drop me a line via Instagram, I have a 869g wheelset for sale (new)
I am absolutely psyched to keep watching this project - very cool. I love gravel bikes and it seems like there are very few highly custom lightweight builds compared to road bikes and others.
I’m not convinced about the pink decals, but the size and positioning of the S-Works decal under the downtube is really sweet. Can’t wait for more build videos!
Man thats gonna be an absolute stunner of a bike. Love your attention to detail!
Btw the raw carbon on the rear makes me drool.
Looking forward to the build video!
The build video is on!
So many tips, life hacks and smart solutions. I like it a lot
I am missing the part where the brakehose comes from steerer into the left leg of the fork !?
Watch the main video that I’ve just released ;)
So sick, I hope Specialized brings out a Crux with intergrated cabling soon.
Awesome work ❤
You are crazy man!
In good way!
Awesome frame!
Great video and I’m very excited for the next video. Of course I had to subscribe 👌
Thanks for the sub!
beautiful build
How are the brake hoses going to get from the stem to inside the steer tube? Another hole near the top of the steerer or I am missing something?
The compression plug will probably be set a bit lower than the top of the stem so it can down into the steerertube.
You would have to cut the fork lower than the top pinch bolt on the stem which would be super sketchy
I’ll show it in a build video ;)
Gran trabajo, se ve espectacular, impresionante. Y seguro que quedara super ligera.
the frame looks amazing.
Looks awesome, pink was the perfect choice
it's beautiful!🤩
crazy color for the decals, but it fits! nice project, i like bare carbon side corespoding with light part. cheers
Thanks! ✌🏼
S-Works logo on the underside looks crazy nice
Nice work with the Cricut Joy to create custom labels!
lovely well done
This is looking to be a super dope build. I'm hoping we can get a full build video of it, but it's gonna be fantastic either way when you do the final reveal. Routing both brakes hoses through the fork is a solution I haven't seen, but I hope it pans out. All this gives me ideas for if/when I can do a Crux build of my own.
The full build video is coming too!
Loved the way you ripped up the warranty! It made me laugh. Without trying to be negative, I’m not feeling the colour, but sure it will be a great build.
Didn’t see you mention axles. Overfast from panda podium will save quite a bit if they fit crux. I have them on my checkpoint
Yea, those definitely belong on a build like this. My Checkpoint is an SL5 so doesn’t really warrant the $200+ weight weenie axles but they would be so perfect for this bike for sure.
I’ll be using carbon axles but not from overfast
Great video! Can you show us how you internally routed the cables through the stem and tell us more about that fork expansion plug?
I will do in the build video
czcams.com/video/C808YbeqXx0/video.htmlsi=mc7eRdNaya1HeNY0
Fun project
Your stem need a cover(stem) 😂😂😂, good job Oleg!
sehr geil!
Looking great so far!!! Army green logos would have came out real nice too but definitely not as stealthy as what you have.
Army green was in my top 3 colours I was choosing from!
Very Nice work! With the pink you destroyed the good looking bike🤣
Can’t make everyone happy 🤷🏻♂️
Pink decal was a great choice and suits the frames overall paint theme perfectly!Location of the decal was chosen very well. I love it 😍
@@mowgliepfeiffer8993 thanks. I’m sure it will look cool on the bike when it’s fully built
Amazing
looking back on your videos for light weight wheelset choices - so big climbing rides coming up later in the year and would like to go from1400g wheelset to 1000g or so. Without breaking the bank. Any advice on wheel builders? (in London pref)
I can build you a wheelset - drop me a DM in Instagram
Wow, and well done so far! Except the pink, I would have used orange for the logos. Orange logos would be very sharp with your color scheme. Keep up the great work!
Thanks!
Great design on the frame! Super interesting Video. But going all for weight but then choosing to runn 4 piston brakes? Thats one part I dont understand. I'll always run 4 piston brakes on my MTB but I am super comfortable on the 2 piston brakes on my roadbike. Can you explain why you opted for the 4 piston Hopes? Cheers!
You’ll be surprised, but in addition to being very powerful, they are actually lighter than any Sram and there is just 5g penalty for both compared to hope X2 (if you are using 160mm rotors, which I do).
@@TwistedWheels thank you for clarifying. Well then I would go for the 4 piston option all day!
I envy the environment where u can ride safely in such beautiful Mother Nature.
NIce work....Is the expander (minute 4:02) sold as such? It is done expressly, thank you
Yes. Intend smarty
Doesn't the length of the back brake hose (which is way less longer than if it was routed externally) limit the angle the steerer can rotate? Isn't the same true with the hole which the hose exits the steerer through to the frame?
Did anyone with expertise in carbon have any input into the modifications on the cable port on the steerer or was it just wrapped in 3K weave and hope for the best?
someday this channel will got 200K the quality you made your video is very good.
Thanks! I hope this happens before I’m 60 haha
@@TwistedWheels you done great. you will make it.
Amazing. Love the pink logos on tan paint. Subtle and stylish.
What paint / top coat did you use? I'm not familiar with the name you mentioned. I hope you protected the raw carbon with something uv resistant though...
Cerakote. Carbon was clear coated
painting reminds me of shoes Quoc Gran Tourer XC - Dusty Pink. Maybe you should buy them to finish the set
Ha, you’re right. I do have Quoc Gran Tourer but in Sand colour. Dusty Pink is nice, but I’m not gonna spend another £240 on them :(
@@TwistedWheels paint old one 😅
Subbed
Super awesome build! Why aren't you going for an integrated handlebar?
I don’t know any light and quality option that would also look good.
My combo will weigh 235g in total.
Fair enough - I'm also building a Crux - with Shimano DA Di2 12 speed, and just bought the Roval rapid Cockpit for it. I think it would look extremely nice with the integrated cables. Which wheels are you putting on? And again great build, looking forward to see it complete.
@@TwistedWheels
@@jonasarentzbach4696 Roval Rapid is 70g heavier and doesn’t have an opening to allow for the internal cable routing through the steer tube.
At this stage, what is the total weight of the full frameset and stem + seatpost?

noice
4:06: where did you source that part please?
R2-bike.com
Finally I see someone start a bike build correctly! By making a list of requirements and desired features. It's surprisingly rare for how essential it is for a good bike build.
Thanks mate. It was also to set the expectations for the lightest gravel bike in the world claim :)
BTW since you are using Sram lots of time, there is no problem to disconnect the brakes without needed to bleed them again :)
Yes, but how will you pull the hoses from the handlebar if there is a nut at the end of the hose?
@@TwistedWheelstrue. Forgot my Vision Metron 5D ACR has enough room for everything in :) And I remember Prime Primavera Aero handlebars had enough room to pull it just through.
Audio is almost only coming from the left channel :( same problem with your Cannondale video
Мы ведь у домохозяек это подсмотрели и стали собирать велики на весах 😂
Shouldn’t you wait for new sram XPLR release? Clearly going to be lighter :/
I don’t think it will be lighter than my upgraded shifter and modified mech
@@TwistedWheels but if you put your stuff on the new sram red ? New shifter hood seems considerably lighter… anyways can’t wait to see your build it looks amazing!
@@tomastorres7497 shifters might be lighter, but judging by the previous generations the weight difference between Red and Force shifters was around 15 grams and there is no release date yet. It might be in 2025…
This is so hot
how about no logos? what's the point of even putting them back on? Like you said, you have no warranty now, it's your bike, not belonging to Specialized anymore.
I was thinking of making it brand-less, but eventually decided that I’d like the logos designed how I want them to be.
Апруваю розовый, можешь выдохнуть !
You lost me at Pink...to each is own I guess but you asked,,pink tan black?👎
Can’t please everyone 🤷🏻♂️
