    They still use guitar amps live... never turn to the dark side, Kamelot!

      Best way to go. Mine's like this: H&K Tubemeister 36 -> marshall 1960A. That's it.

      So digital is "the dark side". Care to explain why?

    The keyboard guy was really interesting.

      EsotericFallacies It was very interesting, also to see that he is actually a classical trained pianist. But he forgot to mention the pedal he's got! That's an essential tool for all who learnt classical piano!

      Yeah, if you were watching him play right in front of you I think you might do the same 😉

  • @JustLookA7
    @JustLookA7 Před 9 lety

    +EsotericFallacies +Irtap Oliver seems to be using just a sustain pedal. As you can see in the video, he switches the sounds with the default keys in the mox8. Simple gear, but that Yamaha sounds amazing just the way it comes in the box.

    Those solid state ampegs are legendary among 90s death metal guys

    What's wrong with that guitar tech, was he high ? "Ltd, Lespaul, emg without batteries..." What ? ESP Eclipse guitars, it's not that hard... And I'm pretty shure Thomas is using the Peavet JSX along with the Ampeg.

  • @ericdye9797
    @ericdye9797 Před 9 lety +3

    Lol funny shit, he's got a Kemper and a JSX head but always uses an Ampeg SS amp head. Great sounds start at the hands man.

      eric dye Yep. I know Dying Fetus always used VH140's and their guitar tone is nothing like Kamelot's. Either the vh140c is one versatile amp, or the guitar used and the player behind the guitar really makes a huge difference.

    • @ericdye9797
      @ericdye9797 Před 9 lety

      Its all the player bro, great tone starts with technique and attack, although good pickups and Speakers/Cabs help a lot. Really, try plugging anything into a Boogie cab and see if it sounds bad, I dare you.

      I saw Kamelot in 2011, was literally 5 feet from his amps (small venue) and Thomas had some sort of Marshall as a backup to his Ampeg. I was wondering what that backup head was in this video. JSX? Peavey?

    talking about guitar gear and not mentioning tuning and string gauges at all is just so cringeworthy really.

    And "no batteries in the EMG"... What ? Ever heard what an EMG without battery sounds like ? I bet he was drunk...

    • @AsmeginDavid
      @AsmeginDavid Před 9 lety

      Matt Atyahu Couldn't tell, but the EMG HZ's are passive.

    • @matt.lemonnier
      @matt.lemonnier Před 9 lety +1

      Yep, you're right, but when I look closely, I can't see the "HZ" mention in this video. Could be wrong, of course.

    • @higler.
      @higler. Před 9 lety +2

      Matt Atyahu dude he, he says "and these are passive EMG's, so no batteries needed in them"

    • @higler.
      @higler. Před 9 lety

      David OfAum like he says in the video

    • @matt.lemonnier
      @matt.lemonnier Před 9 lety

      higler420 Yep, but if you look closely, you can see it just says "EMG" on the pickups, there's no "HZ" following... I might be wrong, but it still seems a bit strange to me.
