    How interesting to hear the two discuss the genesis of Into the Woods. It certainly casts light on the age-old discussion of the dichotomy of authorship between composer/librettist for musicals and opera.

    And then Disney bought the rights and made an okay movie of Into the Woods. Apparently the Broadway version was much more suggestive.

      I somehow imagine Sondheim getting inwardly infuriated over the incredibly clichéd “music or lyrics” question.
