  • Some are born to rule-others go kicking and screaming. For Maud of Wales, there is little in-between. Known as being a bit of a “reluctant royal," she had a unique relationship with the throne. A shroud of mystery seemed to surround Maud, transforming her into an object of fascination.

    As a Norwegian I must say that I am shocked, offended and angry at the slur "suggested" by the narrator here about the origins of our much loved and dearly departed King Olav (prince Alexander at the time of his birth). Maud was very much loved here, although she was a bit reticent. Norway should sue you for slander and defamation!

      YES INDEED KING OLAF REALLY WAS A GREAT WONDERFUL KING LOVED HIS PEOPLE VERY MUCH AS INDEED QUEEN MAUD . AT FIRST A LITTE NERVOUSE Ii THINK RATHER THAN RETICENT, SHE GAVE OF HERSELF TO HER HUSBABD THE KING, AND TO THE PEOPLE OF NORWAY AND BOTH WERE LOVED RESPECTED BY THE PEOPLE OF NORWAY .
      MAUD WAS AFTER ALL THE DAUGHTER OF OUR MOST BELOVED QUEEN, THE PRINCESS ,ALEXANDRA OF DENMARK MARRIED TO KING EDWARD WHO ALTHOUGH DOTED TO HER DID NOT TREAT HER FAIRLY AT ALL, WITH HIS MANY AFFAIRS .
      QUEEN ALEXANDRA IN MY OPINION WAS ONE OF THE FINEST MOST MAGNIFICENTLY BEAUTIFUL PRINCESS AND QUEEN EVER, AND WAS A DILIGENT WONDERFUL MOTHER TO ALL OF HER CHILDREN WHOM SHE LOVED DEARLY,
      I HAVE READ SO MUCH ABOUT HER AND ALWAYS SHE IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE ROYAL PRINCESS AND QUEEN, AND CERTAINLY THE MOST DIGNIFIED ELEGANT QUEEN EVER

      I don’t think it’s an AI, it’s a real girl reading, but she definitely needs training in pronunciation and diction.
      As she is doing it now she sounds like a high schooler without much experience of reading aloud.
      And she makes some pronunciation errors, too. She’s not bad, just needs polishing!💎
      For a comparison, listen to a piece about Wallis Simpson’s alleged CAIS syndrome - it’s AI read with strange intonation and breaks in strange places.

  • @MsMarple
    @MsMarple Před měsícem +20

    Again, pronunciation and elocution is key for a narrator. Many young ppl in their 20’s and 30’s often slur their words - I believe in an effort to sound intelligent, cool or whatever. I had to go over the words “lighting a cigarette” several times, finally with earphones at full volume to hear what I’d been waiting to hear all along! Ridiculous! Forget the faux feminine, whispy voice. We don’t need you to sound “cute”, we need to understand what you’re saying - PERIOD.

    • @pbohearn

      @@JemNagel it’s the “up talk” of the previous generation, whereby one completed a thought or sentence by gradually elevating ones voice to higher note and ending the sentence with a semi question. Look at most of the ladies and girls faces, most especially the Eyes and chins, you can see the Daughter,s of Prince Randy Andy, such a shame to have these peculiar facial features from long gone Queen Victoria,s rather plain facial attributes. Both these daughters of Andrew and Firgie , don't realise that most of their Best Clothes are, actually Ugly, too much flowery material and ugly designs (Since they both got married there is an improvement in their styles of dress, maybe due to seeing their quite handsome Husbands eyeing up the more, prettier dressed young ladies, and seeing that their wives, clothing leaves not much to be desired, bless them).
    I also, or, is it my failing eyesight,look like they both have had skillful Cosmetic facial Surgeries, one has had her chin , narrowed, and, looks truly attractive, the other sister seems to have her poppy out large eyes ,less so, and, her face in general looks so prettier.
