- In this vlog we unfortunately have to start heading home... We step off from Bathurst and head to Australia's oldest surviving gold rush town home to only 200 people, Sofala. we ride some amazing roads and see some spectacular scenery all while riding our trusty Harley Davidsons. My bike is a 2008 Harley Davidson fat bob fxdf, my old man is sporting a 2021 Harley Davidson street glide and my Grandad is on a Indian road master. After leaving Sofala we punch our way to Newcastle where we stay for the night before heading north up the highway the next morning. On the final day we stop in at the Nabiac National motorcycle museum of Australia to finish up the trip. What an amazing trip this was !

Hello Matt! Yes... your filming/editing has really improved as you go along! You've become my favorite vlogger on CZcams!!! It was so cool to watch your three generations riding and enjoying each other's company! This vlog was pretty special for me as I was able to follow along on google earth as you were riding! I found the exact spot you were at in the town of Sofala! I found the spot where you put your head and arms in the stocks. Good fun all around! Next, I found the places you were at in Merriwa. The old cabin you went to look into. That twisty road you and your dad were riding on looked really cool! Your dad had his Harley leaning over pretty good as did you! Lots of fun there! Then I followed you into Warners Bay! I found the dock you were at and the statue of the kid you were sitting by. Good stuff! Then off to New Castle and then home! Wow.... I'm so happy you had the time to be with your family and shared in some wonderful events you'll never forget!!! I still liked those huge kangaroos that hoped over that wall. Don't remember the name of that place, but I'm sure you do! The motorcycle museum you were at was so neat! I'd love to tour something like that! So much history and all the old bikes! I thought I saw an old Yamaha FJ 1200 in one of the scenes too! Keep doing what you're doing Matt! Other people are seeing the great work you're doing making these videos too!!! It was a very memorable trip away that's for sure ! Dad an I absolutely love hitting the twisties haha, always abit of good friendly competition.... although he will always be quicker !!!! So much fun haha

First went to Sofala about 50 years ago it was just after they made the movie "The Car That Ate Paris" and there were cars from the movie all over the place and a temporary building built for it next to Smith's general store across the street from the pub

At one time I lived in the hills near Sofala my address was Razorback, Razorback Road, Running Steam
You'll find The Cars That Ate Paris free on CZcams it's a bit corny but worth watching think of it like Mad Max before Mad Max
They also filmed a colonial mini series (?) there called Luke's Kingdom, you'll find small parts of it on CZcams
We would regularly camp in one of the cabins built for Luke's Kingdom until some arsehole burnt it down, you had to get there as early as possible on a Friday night to secure camping rights to the cabin
I'm not real sure but I think they may have filmed some of the 1960's TV series "Cobb and Co" there as well but that's before my time at Sofala, although I do remember the series on TV
Had the wildest bike night there in the mid eighties, it was an ANZAC Day long weekend and the town was packed with bikes there could've been fifty bikes or more there, there was everything from road bikes to unregistered dirt bikes it was like the real life Australian version of The Wild One
Ended when every cop car in Bathurst arrived to break up the party
There's Richardson's harley davidson museum in Launceston Tasmania. It's also Tasmania's harley dealership aswell.

THe Museum had some Mick Doohan helmets....I am assuming they had some Casey Stoner, Troy Bayliss, Troy Corser, Matt Mladin, and Anthony Gobert stuff as well...there are LOTS of racers that came from Australia that RULED the racing world over the years... Speaking of...watching your Dad ride...he LITERALLY is ACING the apex of every turn!! Fantastic to watch...he REALLY knows how to ride... If you ever get to the USA, the Harley Museum and the Barber Motorsports Museum are fantastic and then there is a small museum in the Blue Ridge Mountains in NC called "Wheels through Time" that all have fantastic vintage Harleys...if you ever come across the pond you need to let your channel know...I am sure we would all love to host you for a bit....
Yeah there was so much stuff i didn't get on film, I had an awkward amount of footage left not quite enough for 2 vlogs so jammed it into 1 last vlog. Yeah he absolutely loves the twisties as do I haha. Coming from adventure and sport bikes it's in our blood now 😅🤣

G day there is a bike museum at Roadvale QLD in between Boudesert and Boonah called the Panorama Motorcycle and Memorabilia museum , full of old Harley's and stuff . Would be a good ride as well. Cheers Dave.
