I imagine it would be possible for a real life kaiju to exist since we do have fossils belonging to massive extinct creatures close to the size of buildings or larger but would likely be roughly about the size of Gorgo at best and have a sustainable diet to keep it alive. Though even then, there’d probably be complications with that part.

Truth is, there are Creatures alive today whose anatomy is extremely unique and honestly no other organism matches them. For example, the iron clad snail is the only animal to go through Metabolic Fossilization as it replaces it's outer epidermis with Iron sulfate and diamond syndicate layers. The science of an organism is always plausible, but the steps required for it to have such adaptations is the real question. Questions we could ask about Godzilla and other Kaiju is a question on exactly why they would have the biology they do. What reason would a giant animal have to evolve a projectile weapon or why would it also be so indestructible? Scientific plausibility is always on the table, but the correct question must be asked

The question that is asked by this video is redundant; Is Godzilla science-fiction?
Why, heck, no.... it's a dramatical theme based in romantic comedy with Old Western settings ...
How is that for an answer?
