- The Great Britain steam tour once again took to the mainline rails as the 'Railway Touring Company' showcase their flagship event over the length of the United Kingdom. The last two Great Britain tours have seen there difficulties, but this year's tour has been a lot more encouraging, with some super loco performances and sublime weather on display, especially in Scotland, although there was some worrying times as the potential for a blanket steam ban due to fire risk was a possibility ! Thankfully this was no issue in England, and the tour rolled on in fine style.
We pick up the action on day 7 and day 8, featuring 45699 'Galatea' putting in a vocal show on route from Grange Over Sands to Bristol and we also witness the unusual pairing of 34052 'Lord Dowding & 46100 Royal Scot, as they double head over Somerset and Devon on day 8 of the Great Britain X !
A good couple of day's chasing the Great Britain, there should of been a couple more shots to add to the video, but unfortunately we hit heavy traffic on the Friday which derailed those locations !
I hope you enjoy the coverage. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Faultless coverage Liam and Phil...always a joy to watch...Bob
Loved your shot of 'Galatea' coming over the hill at Stokesay Castle. Many thaks for sharing these wonderful images.
Yet ANOTHER winner 👍🏼👍🏼. The best steam channel on CZcams by far . Thank you Liam 🚂🚂
Great stuff. Loved Galatea with what looked like a castle in the background. Could have been the perfect advert for UK Tourism!!! Some great shots of climbs as well. Another quality production.
Thanks! Galatea sounding sublime
Another gem from Mr Marsh ... Absolutely brilliant, loved the Stokesay Castle clip. Well done sir :)
Stunning performances from all locos and spectacular viewpoints and scenery Liam, and together with your expert camera work, it makes for a super video - great viewing! Thanks. Ken
An excellent video from start to finish, THANKS LIAM
Very good as allways
Hi Marsh I understand English, but when I wrte it's mostly frenglish :-).
Keep on with the good job, I understand what you write, and I'm glad you can read my french.
Have a nice day
Great video thanks for sharing.
Great compilation of footage...the sound effects @2:35 are superb. (Good mic wind-sock, kept that wind noise to a minimum on some of your breezy locations)
Brilliant coverage Liam.
I was looking out for you. Went to Dorrington but did consider Stokesay Castle. Fab shot there. Hereford prevented us getting to Abergavenny, but we did well. Lovely shots, Geraint
Some really good shots,well done
Agree with Liam, wonderful camera work. WOT no diesel on the back? Well done RTC!
Nice video keep it up and all aboard
No offense, but they don't say that in Britain! :)
Mateo Pelissier LOL 😂 🤣
Fantastic video again how do you get the same train in so many locations ?
5 star
Answer anybody please? Which loco applies the train brakes and does the trailing loco apply its own brakes or are they taken over by the leading loco?
Great video and what an evil gradient at Stokesay taken with apparent ease.
One more thing, in one shot the sheep run but the cows gather to watch 🤔
Lead loco controls brakes, the other loco just provides power when needed. The rear loco can control the trains brakes if needed. The gradient at Stokesay is just a small bump of track. Your eye's deceive you into thinking it's steep. It's about 1/200.
Marsh Steam Videos™ : thank you for that, often wondered.
