- Day Three of the epic voyage, as the GB headed further into Scotland along the highland mainline to Inverness. With the day starting early at Edinburgh, B1 1264 headed the train over the Forth Bridge and onwards to Perth where 45699 'Galatea' was attached for the run over Drumochter Summit.
The duo made a fine spectacle on Britains highest mainline and were accompanied by superb weather all the way to Inverness where the stop over was for the night.
Again little to no disruption, and the tour run to plan as it has done so far. Day four will entail the 80 odd mile Kyle of Lochalsh line, one of the most spectacular for scenery. Hope you enjoy!
Great video. Super train dumpflock
Tis a stirring sight to to see two steamers in fine fettle. Many thanks to those who maintain them.
They're stunning for sure!
WOW,WOW and WOW ! Absolutely fantastic videography :)
Awesome!
Glorious double-header tracking ,ace vid , beautiful locos .
Superb video - especially the Forth Bridge shot.
May I ask - is the old gun emplacement at Carlingnose Point location you used on publicly accessible land, or do you need permisssion of a landowner?
Wonderful
This is an incredible series of shots, the chase shot especially. I must say that B1 really looks the part. Well done and keep it up!
Thanks mate, the B1 was awesome for sure!
Forth bridge is an awesome sight even more so with a steam loco passing over it👍
First sighting of the bridge at all for me so I flet privaliged!
Stunning, excellent work. Very well done. Thank you so very much.
Thank you!

Brilliant video Mate superb pacing. Enjoyable watching. Fantastic. Kind regards C&A
Thanks mate, glad to see people enjoying it.
Fabulous video - many thanks! Was the 47 providing some traction at Drumochter, or just train power?
Another awesome video 👍 keep up for good work
Cheers, will try my best!
Nice one
1:06 nice to see steam crossing the iconic Forth bridge!
4:58 this is the first video I've seen of someone chasing a British train on an adjacent road! I've chased Union Pacifc 844 on an adjacent road many times!
1264 is a great looking loco!
Cheers, the B1 was stunning for sure! Not many places you can get a chase in like that over here anymore.
Nicely done Will! You're travelling around quite a bit!
Cheers! Worth it for capturing scenes like that :)
Great video Will as always, love the shot following from the car! :)
Thanks mate!
Very nice video ;-)
Cheers!
Brilliant footage of the tour in Scotland in beautiful weather too! Very well caught and composed and loved the loco chase by car footage around 4.50? The locos did so well and looked fantastic! Best wishes. Ken
Yea it was tough trying to get that shot, took servaral attempts so was thankful for the amount of time the road follows the railway. Thanks for the kind words!
Bluebell-Railway Hawks. I can well understand how tough a task that was but you stuck with it and were well rewarded for your persistence! I've now etched all your GB XI vids and they are truly outstanding, well worth publishing as a DVD. Do you ever consider doing a DVD? Best wishes. Ken from Ayrshire in Scotland.
Really lovely shots
Thanks very much!
Just realised I get a walk on part at Dalwhinnie!
Impressive scenery, impressive engines and impressive footage! Thanks for posting looking forward to watching the run to Kyle of Localsh now. I managed to see Flying Scotsman on day one near York and the the wonderful British India Line 35018 on day two at Church Fenton. :D Teddy
Thank you, really enjoyed that chase! Yes managed to see them two as well, they were impressive also.
I can imagine you did I love chasing steam trains too:D I have managed to see all your footage now Thanks for posting :D
I like how there's a little house nestled among the girders of the bridge at 1:10. I suppose it must be for the maintenance crews.
I would presume so yes haha!
GREAT ROAD CHASE
Of course, there are three Forth bridges now aren't there. I wonder if we'll see a fourth Forth bridge.
That really takes the biscuit. Two steam locos up front and still there is a diesel on the back of a supposed steam special. How ridiculous.....
Diesel was just carrying its own weight, it was required for shunting at Inverness later on.
Really great video. I've subscribed to your channel and would appreciate same. Thank you.
