Bill Burr recounted a story of watching meshuggah live .he was standing next to Danny Carey(drummer from Tool) and he saw Danny's mouth being wide open and was completely blown away from the drum patterns..thats the magnificence of Meshuggah.

I am not into reaction videos... but man, thats the most REAL reaction video i have seen. Every emotion is real... and it mimics the way i felt when i listned to this song.. but it didnt hit my as bad as when i saw them live for the 6th time playing in LA when they opened up with his. my buddy and i got high, then they played an IDOSE track that was so LOUD it made your ears ring and right after that, they opened up with clockworks.... I wasnt the same person again. Holy shit that was incredible. The entire venue became a living thing... A hive, a cell.. and meshuggah was the life giving sonic Nucleolus and everyone else was in tune with this rhythmic phenomena... you can feel different parts of the ground shaking in different tempos... because there would be people fixated on the guitars, others on the drums, others on his snare, other on his pass pedal, others with Jens... its was fucking amazing. and every now and then line the red clips on a cassette tape, we all came in unison and matched our rhythm because its only a matter of time for us to sync up and its was fucking glorious. It changed my life that night. If you dont know the comparison with the red markers on a cassette tape.. .grab one, play it and watch the wheels turn... they will all turns our of sync.. but every other 10-20 they would sync up for a few seconds and its amazing to see before one speeds up ahead of the other... in a nutshell.. THAT is Meshuggah and i am glad to be alive at a time where this band fucking exists! cheers sorry for the shitty spelling, i really dont care right now, i was just stoked to see someone get the same emotions i do when i listen to these guys..

Well, the only logical song choice after witnessing this would have to be the live drum cam version of Bleed. There's certainly more Meshuggah tracks worthy of mentioning, but as a drummer myself, Bleed will just make your jaw fall straight to the ground. There's also more than just one camera angle on it, so you can see a bit more of what's happening during that song.
Thomas Haake is an absolute beast on the drums and is easily one of my favorite drummers with his unique style and complex polyrhythms. He also has a heavy hand in constructing their songs since they are so rhythmically incorporated, and he's even been known to do a few songs with vocals while drumming!
I will also give a couple more song recommendations for them - Corridor of Chameleons and Future Breed Machine are some of their earlier songs that will absolutely destroy your ears.

    Thomas is a fantastic drummer!
Meshuggah a fantastic and supertight band!
    Swedish Metal you know. Hehe.
Norway has a superdrummer named Baard Kolstad. He plays in the band Leprous.
Try the drum playthrough for the song ”The sky is red”.
    Stay Metal!

you should check out mechina, theyre a highly underrated, highly prolific (they release a cd almost every january 1st) band thats got an amazing massive epic sound. they recently released a single aphelion for their cd venator that just came out. great song, although tbh, its not as good as some of their other stuff. check out that first, and if you like their sound, check out starscape or on the wings of nefili for a much better take on their sound.
