How are you supposed to put one of if not the greatest songs/metal compositions of all time into words? This track sucks you into a sonic sphere of a relentless hypnotic vortex seemingly leaving you in a state of paralysis/shock. I'm assuming Tomas Haake has an IQ of 228 as the mental gymnastics it must take to write, memorize and perform something that sounds like an alien language. Trying to wrap your head around what you are hearing and witnessing is exhausting let alone what if must be like to perform a track like this. Like I said in the reaction, Meshuggah F-N Wins

My favorite thing about Meshuggah is that their stuff is so dang technical but done in a way that has a 4/4 feel with that right-hand tempo just makes it able to follow. I think if they didn't have Tomas it wouldn't feel right. The guy is so dang good. I've tried to learn some of his stuff and I can only manage a few songs but none 100% somewhere they throw in something that is so dang intricate that you almost have to just close your eyes and count, which I hate doing, it's not the most fun way to play, I'm all about the feels. Tomas is an absolute BEAST.

I saw a clip of Bill Burr talking about seeing these guys play this live, and just geeking out about the drumming. Haake's playing one tempo with his hands that the audience is tuned into, and another rhythm with his feet that the rest of the band is keyed into. It's crazy. Mad respect to the whole band.

Thomas actually had to change the way he plays drums, to write and record this song. The key to this song is how relaxed your upper body is. The double kick is simply a slide technique, which can be sustained by using the kick pedal to bounce off of the batter head, meaning it’s all technique. Trust me when I say, I have to eat a banana during the bridge, to stop my calves from cramping. Now add to that the OTHER 90 minutes Thomas has to play other songs on their catalog! 🥵🥵🥵
The real bitch of it al is the tempo and time change that comes in after the bridge, then drops back into the original time signature, but not really! Insane!!!🤘🏼🤘🏼

Great reaction! I know the drums is the star on this track but that bass and guitar completes it all and it does feel that the song is like a kind of pressure slowly crushing you. There are songs that sound eerie, there are songs that have a scary theme/tone but Bleed just makes you feel terrified - in a good way! The little pause isn't mainly for Haake but for everyone listening to Bleed. It gives us time for a breather but when the song picks up again we are ready and it's all the better.
