THANK YOU!! I have the exact same issue and also went through replacing the control panel and all before realizing it was the ACU and there are zero videos for this model. All videos show an ACU in the front corner that is just easily removed after taking off the top. What a pain! And my machine is only 1.5 years old. I thought Whirlpool was a good brand... lesson learned there. Now to roll up my sleeves and get this taken care of tonight.

Glad it helped! Whirlpool is a good brand comparatively. I’ve been repairing appliances of all ages for about 14 years and sometime around 2012, all brands (I mean all) took a steady nosedive in quality.
Avoid LG and Samsung as they still break like any other brand BUT their major repairs usually cost about the same as a new appliance, and there really isn’t any help on line to DIY.
I completed this ACU repair a little over two years ago and it’s still running strong.

THANKS!!! I had the same symptoms you described and also my washer WFW5620HW0 and ACU # W11322903 would softly chime (thank goodness) every 10-15min. Watched tones of tubes on the control panel and door interlock, but I knew that was not my issue. Nine days downtime for back-order/delivery and only one 2-load trip to a laundromat.

Great video helped a lot exact same model my symptoms were after countdown would not start .in diagnostic mode. Screen went blank no codes then powered off. like you, I started with replacing the door lock switch when removing and putting on my ohmmeter and simulating door closed three prongs all red open. This is normal.($70 later)😢 I tried to get appliance repair to come with the part explaining all the troubleshooting I have done,no luck with that. I’m in southwest Virginia. Everything is 2 to 3 weeks .now waiting for part to show up. lowest price I could fine with shipping was just under $300. I decided to roll the dice purchased on eBay allegedly new in box with three-year warranty total $165, to be continued

Thanks for showing me that all I had to do was hold the “Extra Rinse” button to clear it! THANKS!!!

Thanks for posting this. I had a F6E2 error code which left the display panel blank and unresponsive except for some beeping occasionally and the F6E2 at times. I was told that Whirlpool put out a service bulletin that said the front panels that have been return came back almost 100% ok but the ACU's had a consistent problem. My Model# is WFW5620HW0 and ACU # W11322903. I plan to replace it in a couple of days. I was happy to find your video as I was prepping for the repair. Thanks.

Getting error code F6 E3, generic error that indicates the board is not communicating with something, so helpful. I went into the Diagnostic Submenu, cleared the error code, ran a few diagnostic tests, determined everything worked except the unit would not spin. There is individual Test #7 that is suppose to drain (if needed) and then spin for 5 minutes. Mine drained, but no spin and then threw the F6 E3 code. Also ran the Quick Test with 12 mini steps, again everything worked...door locked, cold valve fill, hot valve fill, drain, recirc pump, drain again, but no spin...and threw the F6 E3. I called a local repair shop to see what they thought, either the control board or the rotor/stator/motor (seemed more logical to me since the Spin is what generated the error code). But they said most likely the control board. So that is what I'm trying first. Mine is a little different model, wfw8620hc3, but looks identical. I watched your video to see if there was a trick to getting the control board off...Thanks, I knew after taking the screw off it had to be something simple, but I couldn't get it to slide off...now I see it's a zig zag slot, going up then straight.

The front panel on this washer isn't the most obvious on how to do things. After I got the LOC error on mine i was able somehow to do a sequence to get it unlocked. I think i hit the power and then immediately hit and held down that extra rinse button while the LOC was still lit up, think i saw a 3, 2, 1 countdown on the right...although i won't swear to that, not sure if i continued to press Start or not..but yeah, hopefully don't have to do that again. whew.

These electronic front-load washers and the higher cost are not worth it. Some settings can take an hour or two to do a load. I rather use more water and still be young when the clothes are finished. I had coin laundries and these machines between cost and time to finish a load would bankrupt me.
