  • The fallowing video is about how to repair laundry machine main board using a step by step procedure of inspecting and measuring each electronic component in the washing machine´s power supply. There is a 2nd video about service made easy in the link:
    • Laundry machine servic...
    (The procedure steps can be applied to many brands like Gorenge, Electrolux, Whirlpool, Samsung, GE, and many other brands independently of the PCBA design and its different electronics components).
    If you liked the video or if it was worthy to you, don't forget to give a LIKE. You can also join the Channel for more interesting videos about electronics workshop.
    Thanks for watching it!
    In the minute 7:12 I showed a mistaken datasheet marked line for the varistor. The page is correct, but the correct line is the line before the line shown. My apology for it!

      This is just superb, been searching for "what is the best way to clean circuit boards?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Giyathan Bewildering Gratification - (should be on google have a look ) ? It is a great one off guide for discovering how to repair your electronic items like a wizard minus the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my cousin got great results with it.

    Best explanation. Thank you very much! It would be nice if you analyze the ideal ohm and watt for the shunt resistor.

    Hey Bob. Kalpon this is a fantastic video thank you. Bob if the board is fried like this. 1. In a "commercial laundry premises "is it best to replace the whole board quickly so that the Laundry can make money reliably fast? 2. If the board is fried has this been caused by other problems in the washer machine - A. How do you know? B. Do you need the board to work to see mechanical problems in motors etc. C. How do you test mechanical problems in motors etc without power? Thank you Mike

    The black smoke on the IC is probably carbon dust from the motor's brushes. It gathers around the die area of semiconductors dealing with high voltage due to electrostatic force.
    You will find it too on the small triacs which switch the drain pump or the inlet valves. No indicator for a bad chip.

      ¡Bendiciones Ramón! Yo no uso tablas.

    Hi BoB ; thanks for all the great repair clinic; i also have a wash machine but different mod, it's a Maytag MVWC465HW and it's dead soi i suspect power board W10857311 ,but no support or parts, and i also suspect that AC_DC Off line switch chip, but i can't see the chip info cause the board and components are covered with electronic protection wax , so it's going to hard to find this chip ,with no info from Maytag or anywhere ,i'm stuck, so can you help me ,thanks

      Hi! There are technicians who remove the wax or silicon. There are also groups in Facebook for washing machines repairing. It is better to ask them for help, because some of them already got the same situation and I Know they open a window right where they have to test o repair saving a lot of time and complications. Ask them, and they will help.

    When checked the capacitors installed, did you use a multimeter set on ohm setting, or did you use an ers meter?

    • @bob.kalpon1398
      @bob.kalpon1398  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi! Until minute 3:30 it is in continuity or resistance to detect short or linkage. After it trough hole caps I removed them and tested one by one. (ESR measurement is important in electrolytic capacitors).

    • @rickeykeeton71
      @rickeykeeton71 Před 4 lety +1

      Bob. Kalpon I just recently learned about ESR meters. Going to have to get one, I intend to learn more about diagnosing these boards and other electronic components.
      I have always used regular DMM for checking components of appliances. I am just now attempting to learn more on the subject of electronics.
      My DMM does have a capacitance setting. I bought it for that purpose for checking caps on washing machines. I now know I need a different meter.
      Since we are on the subject, do I need to use an ESR to check washer motor start capacitors?

    • @bob.kalpon1398
      @bob.kalpon1398  Před 4 lety

      @@rickeykeeton71 OK, this is the best advice: capacitors, must be measured outside of the PCB, no mater what anybody else says about to measurements on board. That's the proper way because we don't want components in parallel with it.

    • @rickeykeeton71
      @rickeykeeton71 Před 4 lety

      Bob. Kalpon that is something else I need to learn, how to read schematics so I know what powers up first, which component depends on another component upstream and so on.

    • @bob.kalpon1398
      @bob.kalpon1398  Před 4 lety

      Hi! In electronics any component can be the problem. Most of the time we find a bad component, but it the result of the failure and no its origen. It is the reason why I recorded the video. We must test all the components in the stage. My resistor was "burned" without smoke marks, the PWM chip was smoked, but the origen of the problem was the defective capacitor. The capacitor was not bad, but out of specifications. and the problem. You must test all, and change what is bad, out of specs, and what is good, but it is time to renew to avoid future failures and customer to come back with other damage, but asking for the same warranty.
