I thought the worst and assumed It had died. But no, it seems as good as new - hooray 🙌! Also - if any one needs to replace the hose - as I had to recently as the original had rusted to bits from wet use. These electronic front-load washers and the higher cost are not worth it. Some settings can take an hour or two to do a load. I rather use more water and still be young when the clothes are finished. I had coin laundries and these machines between cost and time to finish a load would bankrupt me.

  • @johnpatrick1588
    @johnpatrick1588 Před 5 měsíci

    I used to have laundries and took care of 500 commercial washers and dryers and trying to get tech support from Whirlpool is non existent. They want to sell service calls. Hours of searching the web for bits and pieces of data is pain. Electronics are more pain in the butt than mechanical timers and such. They want us replacing boards costing hundreds when maybe only a software issue or 10 cent component bad on the board.

      Glad it helped! Whirlpool is a good brand comparatively. I’ve been repairing appliances of all ages for about 14 years and sometime around 2012, all brands (I mean all) took a steady nosedive in quality. Avoid LG and Samsung as they still break like any other brand BUT their major repairs usually cost about the same as a new appliance, and there really isn’t any help on line to DIY. I completed this ACU repair a little over two years ago and it’s still running strong.

This is normal.($70 later)😢 I tried to get appliance repair to come with the part explaining all the troubleshooting I have done,no luck with that. I’m in southwest Virginia. Everything is 2 to 3 weeks .now waiting for part to show up. lowest price I could fine with shipping was just under $300. Also worked for the DCV 517 switch. On mine the contacts had fused on one side, and it wouldn't shut off. I cleaned the contacts, applied silicon lube to the rocker arm contact points, and reversed the contacts -- putting the contact that hadn't fused on the side that had fused before. Works like a champ, now. Not sure how long the fix will last or why it fused. I have a 60 V battery that is supposed to auto switch to 20 V. I suspect using that was what caused it to fuse. Amazing, a switch that you can take apart. How old school but perfectly practical.

    I bought an WFW5620HW. It is 9 months old. The control board is broke, Under warranty. Service person has to order the part. Very inconvenient. They should stock these. But that's not the issue. Whirlpool was once a quality product. Not any more. I would not suggest Whirlpool to anyone. Instead of building a high quality product Whirlpool wants the public to give them more money with their so-called Service Plan. B***S***. They are using inferior electronic parts. Fact: Circuit boards and IC's should last 40 Years. Mine broke in 9 months. This video has the control board for the WFW5620. Most videos don't show this board. At least this person did. This person stated he cut a connector because he couldn't get his hand it. You NEVER do that. All he had to do was to remove (loosen) the board first then he could remove the connection. Connectors are there for a reason.

    Getting error code F6 E3, generic error that indicates the board is not communicating with something, so helpful. I went into the Diagnostic Submenu, cleared the error code, ran a few diagnostic tests, determined everything worked except the unit would not spin. There is individual Test #7 that is suppose to drain (if needed) and then spin for 5 minutes. Mine drained, but no spin and then threw the F6 E3 code. Also ran the Quick Test with 12 mini steps, again everything worked...door locked, cold valve fill, hot valve fill, drain, recirc pump, drain again, but no spin...and threw the F6 E3. I called a local repair shop to see what they thought, either the control board or the rotor/stator/motor (seemed more logical to me since the Spin is what generated the error code). But they said most likely the control board. So that is what I'm trying first. Mine is a little different model, wfw8620hc3, but looks identical. I watched your video to see if there was a trick to getting the control board off...Thanks, I knew after taking the screw off it had to be something simple, but I couldn't get it to slide off...now I see it's a zig zag slot, going up then straight.
