I've been waiting to hear and see that 292 running. Wow, what a great job you did on that engine. This and the rest of your videos are as entertaining as they are informative. I just don't understand how you can work in a nice, roomy place without having to search for the proper tool(s): something I wouldn't know about. The little commercials are fun to watch and your points on faith are right on. God bless you and your family.
Brother, these are great videos, specially when you know what ur talking about!. I own a 1960 chevy with a 235ci, 6 cyls that I've been rebuilding since about a year, it's a lot of precise work involved, not only wrenching. And time nd $$$ consumed.
High compression is a beautiful thing. A double edged sword, starter draw-dwell-timing-base carb settings-all gotta be right(or close enough). This was as exciting to watch as Jimmy Stewart feeding the last shotgun shells into the jury-rigged engine from a crash-landed Fairchild C-82 Packet cargo plane in "The Flight of the Phoenix" (1965). Great wrenching.
If they didn’t get it running on those last shells it was game over. And they weren’t happy when they found out the engineer had only designed model planes, cool movie
I have a 66 stepside with the same motor, I plan on fully restoring it so then when I'm around 25 I can drive a fully restored truck made way before I was born
well, as usual it's a very good job, but I prefer to adjust the engine r.p.m on 650 r.p.m not 500 r.p.m the reason why is: the air filter will cause a resistance which prevents the air from passing through the carb easily as u did without an air filter ... what's ur opinion ??? thanks a lot for you called for the mind this engine from the good time .. go a head
hello, just ran across this channel a few episodes back, and love it. been thinking about doing a 292 build in the near future, myself. looking at putting the clifford upgrades on it, but noticed no one sells cranks, or stuff like that for them. do you happen to know of anyone off hand that make a performance crank for these? thanks in advance
Been waiting for this, it sounds great, does it have to use real gas or can it run on the unleaded. Omg what happened to that heater core.Great job looking forward to upcoming videos.
GM made a damn good six. I never did like that 2000 RPM break in, always preferred a little less on an unloaded engine. Best break in to me was a short cruise.
Do you mean the engine alone, or everything I did on the truck? As for the engine itself I had the machine shop order all the parts I needed to rebuild the thing because they get better prices. I would have to look it up to be exact but I paid them around $1500 for the block machining and parts. I did all the labor otherwise including the cylinder head.
@@TheJayhawker yeah I just meant the engine. I have a 250 I’m rebuilding and I like the fact you kept everything original in this build. I want to do the same with mine. I will be following this video series when redoing my 250!! Thanks for what you do! Great information for people like myself! (Not a lot of experience)
The 292 is one of my favorite engines ever. I have had two of them in C60 trucks for many years and never had a problem with them.
I also like it's competitor, the Ford 300. Both great.
The best breakdown and rebuild video I’ve ever seen! The ultimate how to video! If I ever need an engine rebuilt your the guy I’d hire.
thanks a lot, and thanks for watching!
