Trades people will not stop working just because of ulez! They will just have to expand their working radius to avoid London all together , or they will add the ulez charge on to the customers invoice. Which makes a total mockery of ulez, all it will do is move pollution to other areas It will increase the cost of services or increase already high competition for work in other areas, it will also mean some people or businesses will struggle to get the services they need, which in turn will affect their lives , business and livelihoods, so as well as people dying from pollution, they will also be dying from stress and poverty, well done Mr Khan, very well thought through! Ulez is nothing more than another tax on the working person. What a clown.😅

  • @spotastar
    @spotastar Před 9 měsíci +43

Sadiq Khan’s, to reduce toxic air by expanding the ULEZ to greater London will not work.
He doesn’t really care about toxic air quality and here is why:
    - He has already made the toxic air far worse since he has introduced the LTN’s which have increased the toxic air on the main roads because we are forced to use them as there are no other alternatives, especially during rush hour. The roads are now grid locked with traffic moving at walking pace and the fumes are getting denser and not dispersing. LTN’s need to be reopened as it is causing more damage than good.
Among all this, the mileage in vehicles has also increased due to the fact that we are forced to go the long way round to get to the required destination - all accumulating to even more emission being emitted! Bravo Sadiq & team.
    - The health for pedestrians and children as they walk along these main routes to get to stations, schools, shops is deteriorating. Even the drivers inhale more fumes when we are stuck in stationary traffic. This is really aggravating and makes no sense!
    - Cycle Lanes: Should not be taking up an extra lane of the roads, large pavements could be divided into two for cyclists.
    - The introductions of 20MPH roads are also a problem because emission fumes don’t disperse quickly and the air is getting even more polluted because of the need to drive in lower gears.
Sadiq’s statement: “It is to reduce toxic air pollution” is clearly not accurate and is making matters worse. The situation is getting extremely out of hand and something needs to be done to stop him from ruining our climate even more. He should resign and Londoners should vote for someone who will make London a greater and more desirable place to live in. There needs to be a more logical and strategic plan that is well thought.
    Vinnie Lauda

He just does not know what he is doing. You cant judge a car just by the rating it has. My car is just a 1 rate below what it needs to be. But at the same time my car has only done less than 12,000 miles in it whole life time (about 7 years). I have to pay £12.50 because somehow i am/have caused more damage than someone that has done 100,000 miles in a car that is 2 years old.
I went to see if i could get a good deal and was told that i have to downgrade from a 7 seater to a 5 seater and the car i would get has done 4 time more miles and also the amount i would get for my car would only cover half the cost. So i got to give them 2 7 seater to get 1 5 seater car. I have 6 people living at my house, so i guess that mean i can have 5 people in the back seat. Kids with no booster seat and people sitting in each others laps. The police should not come and bother me about getting a bigger car.
I worst thing is i am out of a job and having a hard time getting a new one, which is 1 people the mayor dose not seem to care about.

This is not central London where public transport is more abundant. This is outer London, where you don't get your tube stops and the train maybe a 30+ minute walk.

MAYOR and TFL have done it again! Total mess! In order to scrap your car or motorbike, it has to be MOT’d, taxed and also insured! These are the traps they have put before us, utter rubbish! However are homies supposed to buy another car before the deadline, insurance it, tax it and ensure it has a MOT? Both vehicles! LOL!!!

Mr. Buckley quotes found within 2 minutes.
Nov 2021, "Labour should also ground the climate debate in equality. Within the UK that means ensuring that the poorest do not bear the greatest burden, either in costs or lifestyle changes. Globally that means ensuring that poorer nations have access to the finance and wider support they need to achieve net zero ".
These people are all cut from the same clothe. Most have the same background, campaigners and activists. All are proven inconsistent over time.

I doubt ULEZ will have any impact on traffic congestion. My reason for saying this is that 13years back when the original congestion charge was £8 I was a field engineer (no way I could of relied on public transport as would be a large shopping trolley of spares). Back then it would take me 2 hours to drive the 20 miles to the centre of London from home and I regulary drove the 100miles to Birmingham quicker either sticking to the speed limit or what traffic allowed. In June 2023 (2 months back) I picked up my cousin from Heathrow (and he'd actually been put on crutches by a car not stopping at a red light) and took him to the Greenwich o2. The quickest way to the Greenwich o2 was 60 miles around the M25 and then back in on the M11 at rush hour which is when I used to frequently do the trip in or out of london as that was the hours the company I worked for supported their customers. So what will ULEZ do to prevent congestion that the Congestion charge won't? Whilst we should do whatever we can for clean air no doubt but I think there will be a big cost of ULEZ we prob won't see till a few years down the line. i.e. Shops closing, Businesses closing, volunteer and charities impacted and not to mention the impact on the lowest paid, etc.

Khan has to enhance figures so that he expansion meets the criteria of needing air quality measures improved of tailpipe rmissioms, however if he was to deal with public transport first, these measures would not be needed. he doesnt have the money so flrrce the mootorist first, I think his figures need ecamined in a court of law.

Our workload has sunk to only one or two days a week from seven days 12hrs.
Most of our customers have said they can't afford our services anymore due to the ulez expansion, they are having to put money aside to cover the coming £12.50 per day costs.
I think London is going to come to a standstill, when people run out of money to pay it. It's going to be an awful time in the few months after it starts.
We have decided to shut up shop and move away. My colleagues have started moving all their work out of London, and taking 50 or so job positions elsewhere and letting go the London based employees.
Well done Sadiq Kahnt get anything right 👍

Most of us would. I can drive when and where I want, not have to wait in the rain and get my shopping done. I pay for the privilege therefore who is to say I can’t use my car. I’m also disabled so can’t walk and wait for public transport. When I see that midget Khan on a bus instead of his convoy of 3 gas guzzling Range Rovers I might believe he’s genuine.
