If you're a striker your first job is to score goals. Anything else is secondary. People like to say "what about Firmino" but during his bad periods he still wasn't missing 1 on 1s, and he picked the right option 8 times out of 10.

@@rocketsunny2423 no chance buddy. Salah doesn't even look like a footballer after his injury reoccurrence. But Nunez cost us top 4 last season with his misses and contributed to the crumbling this season. The amount of chances he misses is criminal, I've never seen it.

Big changes in the summer and not just the new manager and his staff....
Mo has done us proud, but he's playing like a guy who is already elsewhere. I get the impression Lucho wants out, so OK. Nunez, bless him, is such a likeable dude but he can't hit a barn door at 6 inches. Diogo is the best natural finisher we've got, but he's permanently crocked and it's gone a long way to costing us the title. We need a new front line, a world class DM so Mac is advanced, and at least one brick-wall center-back. We're up for an epic game of snog / marry / avoid in the summer.

His goal ratio on big chances is appalling - less than 25% i believe - Jota is about 60-70%. we cannot go into next season with him being a starter. on a different note Salah needs to move on too - get 75m for him an move on. As a club we tend to give to much loyalty to players who are past their best and we tend to flog a dead horse. We need to be ruthless like Fergie was to maintain and increase standards. Hopefully Edwards and Co bring this mentality to us.
I'll personally blame the whole squad they were disgrace and aren't fit wear shirt after recent game's Dunk. Half of them look half arsed and others look done they needed half arsed ones help them out after half arse ones are just back from injuries. Yet coaching staff doesn't help they look tried and clueless with certain decision making in terms of timing subs.

Nunez needs to take his opportunity to shoot on goal instead of passing the ball and eventually we lose it. I have noticed since the cup tie against United we seem to be over passing the ball instead of shooting at the first chance we get. It's very frustrating that we were in a good position but have found a way to blow it. He is not the only one but as a whole it's an issue for me.

Last I heard, Núñez has the worst conversion rate of big chances of ALL players in Europe’s top 5 leagues. That is an alarming stat.
No matter how one may feel about him as a player, we cannot have that lack of production from his position on the pitch and expect to win major honors.
I'm trying to be positive because at the end of the day nobody really should've expected a title challenge this season. In my opinion we've done well to even be up in the convo. It doesn't excuse the capitulation but I think a bit of perspective is in order from our fan base. I've seen a lot of Anti-Klopp nonsense, when in reality without that man we'd be an average side. Worked miracles when FSG have left us severely underfunded. Perhaps this point will be drilled home next season when we realise how special Jurgen is and was for us.
My only problem with Klopp is that he is too loyal to players who are best they're best or not up to the job ....
I feel your pain my friend. I really do, and it's frustrating the life out of me. I hope the new gaffer is ruthless in the transfer market, that's all I can hope for.
Honestly think nunez is fine but as a left winger not a centre forward but the problem is we have 4 left wingers
The worst part about it is there are a few players who you cant have the exact same words for.
Nunez - Really exciting to watch and always running. But ZERO end product. If we had Watkins, Toney or even Solanke, in his position we would have done better.
Trent - Really exciting as well. Great strike (when he actually gets into the position to.......) and really great passer. BUT he stood there for the second goal last night. He lost the ball a few times and lightly jogged back. HE IS THE RIGHT BACK and he is f'n jogging!!!
Robbo - Used to be great but since returning from injury he has been nowhere near his old self.
Salah - Same as Robbo.
Szobo - Same as Robbo.
Jones - Nice player who tries to take players on but always takes that one too many attempts and ends up giving away possesion. A Poundland Grealish!!
Elliott - Same as Jones but occasionally has a nice attempt that usally doesnt end up in the net!!
Kelleher - NEVER keeps clean sheets.
Konate - Cant stay fit
Jota - Same as Konate
Diaz, Gakpo, Macca and Alisson are the only ones who seem to show any effort. IF we had players playing at the required standard, they should be the "meh" players (Alisson aside ofc) of the group. Says it all.
Wont happen and cant happen. But I'd love a proper enema of the team this summer. Just take a load of milk of magnesia and clear out the bowels of the team

Thats very generous after watching him for 2 seasons hit everything but the goal & set yourself up for another season worth of his dismal finishing ... Nunez has exhausted a lot of the fans patience, very poor finisher, worst I think I have ever seen. Im 46 & seen some dross, but his finishing is right up there..
Nunez, Salah and Diaz can all go as far as I care at this point.

Salah seemed to be morphing into a “provider” type role early in the season, has made some wonderful assists. He will take the money if it comes his way, don’t blame him, he is a prolific philanthropist in his home country.
As for Nuñez and Diaz, 100% agree. We should be trying to get rid of them. Not clinical enough.

I’m also frustrated about Nunez. But I know about another uruguyanian striker who missed alot of chances in his first couple of sesons at Liverpool.

Yeaa agree with you mate unfortunately. Kloop worked well with Edwards. Kloops own signings have been a bit poor. Remember Kloop wanted Gotze and Brandt but Edward's got Salah and Mane instead.

Nunez feels like he is short of confidence, missing the volume of chances with such a poor goal outlay is far from ideal. The frustrating thing is it looks like there is a real player there he just lacks that slight bit of composure, vision and football intelligence. I think in hindsight his signing was a mistake, his profile isn't quite right but he was very expensive and hopefully a new manager can get a better output from him, if not we move him on and take the loss.
A genius can act like an idiot but an idiot cannot act like a genius .. Nunez does'nt even understand the offside rule .. yes he can be effective when in the mood but his only consistency is an inability to convert sitters .

Cash in on Salah if we can which should give the new manager enough funds to buy a couple of newbies, and give Nunez one more season IMO. He may very well flourish under a new formation and tactics. He's been pretty poor this season, no doubt. Scoring a few Worldies here and there doesn't excuse the overall shocking conversion rate. In fact, half of the shots look like rugby CONVERSIONS !

We have given all the support for two seasons and given him time and he's failed to deliver time for him to go if I remember rightly Edwards was never a fan of him in the first place but liinders got into bosses ear I think Edwards will get him out imo
23 games going one nil down is simply not good enough. Must be a reason. Darwin is testing everyone’s patience.
But also conceding 1st don't help the forwards either as they feel the pressure more to score 23 times isn't good enough and the balance of the team is clearly not quite right
