From a Chelsea fan, Jordan Henderson’s story is an absolute inspiration to all aspiring footballers the amount of stick this man has gotten from rival fans and even liverpudlians for not being up to standard could’ve ruined the young lads career at the time. However the sheer determination and ability to put his head down and prove the doubters wrong is simply admirable and is a testament to his character. 👏

My biggest flex in life, is that when Liverpool signed Hendo, I went right to the shop and bought a shirt, and printed Henderson on the back, because I knew he was gona be something big in this club

2011: signs for us
2012: after a terrible first season (spent playing RW for some reason) almost sold to Fulham for Clint Dempsey
2014: becomes a regular starter in his natural role as CM, key part of the side that challenges for the title
2015: best indv. season, becomes captain after Stevie G
2016/17: has to learn a new role as CDM when Klopp comes in, struggles with injuries
2018: when Fabinho signs, many want Hendo to be dropped and VVD to be captain instead (yes I remember it's true)
2019: back to his natural role as CM, CAPTAINS the team to a UCL win, playing through a knee injury vs Barca
2020: captain of the PL winning team, POTY and off the field raises a ton of money for the NHS too
Never write a player off after one bad season!

Trust and patience was needed to boast his self belief. Sometimes the departure of a great leader ( S.Gerrard ) helps you find your strength. Even so, not everyone could deal with the pressure and expectations. Hendo did 💪❤
Jordan played similar, but the tactics and postion suited him much better when Klopp used Hendo.
He was always a great talented player, just some diamonds needed to be shined from a different angle to unleash its true potential.
He was terrible at one point, nowhere near good enough. Would say even after Klopp arrived he was still the same, he's improved so much. Maybe Gerrard leaving been the starting point.

I'm 66 watching this video and full of tears. To listen to his father tell this story, makes it even more emotional. Being a huge Liverpool fan, living here in Canada along with my son, I couldn't be more proud of our captain. He's living proof what hard work and determination can help you accomplish in anything. The man is a leader. I could have got a Liverpool jersey with either Mo's name or Virgil's name on the back, but no. Henderson is on the back of my jersey and I couldn't be more proud to wear it. I came back to this video because I found out I will have a baby boy (due date is April 2023). I always dreamt to have a boy and even more to become a football player. But after all, it is our children's wish to pursue whatever they want. I'm sending my best regards to you sir. YNWA

One of the few things I enjoyed about this season was being able to hear how the lads communicate with each other on the pitch. To hear how Jordan commanded his teammates, simultaneously chastising and praising them was a revelation for me. ,

His performance against Barcelona is probably one of the best performances ever ! Not just by a team but as individual too 🔥
