    I bet that you are so pleased with this minky quilt 🥰 I’m so looking forward to starting your original quilt idea - I’ve finally got round to ordering some suitable 🤞 fabric. Can’t wait 😊 And what a great idea for buying the minky fleece 👍👍 It’s nice to know that there might be cheaper alternatives. 🤔 Thank you so much. 🇬🇧

      Love this and can’t wait to try it! I recently made a baby blanket and a throw using minky. And it definitely stretches. I did a lot of squaring up! I quilted the minky to cotton patchwork, so I stitched in the ditch. They turned out nice, but it was definitely a learning curve! I noticed flaws that the recipients will never see. Thank you for all your great ideas!

    This quilt as you go makes things so clear, thank you so much! I don’t have dollar general but will be one the lookout for this fleece blanket. Seems like a fun way to practice my quilting!

      Yes it is real easy to do🤓Gloria-maybe they would have the plush blankets at any dollar store near you?🤷🏻‍♀️Even a department store like walmart or target would have them✅

    Very nice! Unfortunately, we don't have Dollar General Stores in San Diego County. 🙁 However, I do have about a 4-ish yd. bundle of new, white 60" width fleece that I found at a thrift store that I may use to make a pseudo-minky FMQAYG quilt at some point. First, I've got to get caught up making FMQ blocks! I'm 4 or 5 videos behind!!!!

      @@TheSewingChannel There are a couple of Dollar General Stores in the next county, about 75 miles away. We do have Dollar Tree stores, but they aren't as big or carry as much merchandise as those in other states. We do have A LOT of beautiful sunny weather, though. 🌞 Can't have it all!

    My first and third quilt were T-shirt quilts made quilt as you go. My second was a bandanna quilt I took to a local long armer to quilt. I do not know that I want to try free motion quilting.

    I get it that Minky is soft, very soft. But how practical is it in the wash/dry department for a quilt 🤔. Especially considering a baby/child quilt....

    • @TheSewingChannel
      @TheSewingChannel  Před 10 měsíci +1
