This Rose Garden Quilt Design is The Sewing Channel's "improv" design- This quilt tutorial is to inspire "the inner artist" in each one who watches it❤️ TSC's improv rose design is not to be confused with a french rose design pattern that is for sale in the open market which has templates and is constructed in an entirely different way. The Sewing Channel is not affiliated in any way with the maker of the french rose. Nor did The Sewing Channel seek to do a "knock off" of this french rose. The Sewing Channel is the designer of the "improv rose " method you see in the video✅ The Sewing Channel learned of this "similar" rose because a viewer had brought it up in a comment. Any similarities are a complete coincidence- I hope this clears up any confusion🌹Thanks for watching.....💛

I saw this tutorial yesterday and then THIS happened: My 85 year old neighbor decided to move back home with her kids. They gave me several totes full of excellent fabric. Ordinarily I LOVE getting hand-me-down fabric, but this was different! I love my neighbor and want her to stay. 😟 But as I was sorting through everything, I found enough rose fabric to make several of these quilts. The first one (and if it's hard, the only one) will go to her. I hope these fabrics are full of happy memories for her. I'm so sad to be losing this neighbor, but so grateful for the timing of your video! At least now I have a healthy outlet for my energy!
*_Thank you for sharing Joy💛🌹 and how sweet of you to be giving her a quilt out of her own stash that she gave you💜 I love it when I get gifted nice fabric✅ what a blessing❤️_*
Awww, how nice. She had to give up her fabric (and her home and neighbors) but the fabric went to a good home and will come back to her in a quilt.
Aren't YOU the best neighbor EVER!
@@ranchgal3006 she went home to Jesus last night.
@@joybrown9600 So sad 😥
A rought up quilt, unusual. I love it! I will try make it one of these days..I love your voice, so soothing.
These roses would be beautiful on denim!
Yes it would✅
Oh my goodness, this rose garden quilt is a walk down memory lane from 60 years ago. My great grandmother had a rose garden and she would sit out there and quilt, take pictures of me and sing. It was the perfect country setting. I have to make one of these in her memory.
Of course, I’ll never get to have memories like I did with my great grand babies, kids are so different today and yes I’m talking about my own grandkids who I have cherished for 28 years 😭😭😭
Wow what beautiful memories...thank you for sharing💛
What a beautiful quilt! And a labor of ❤
By far this is the best tutorial I've watched for making a quilt and I absolutely love it. I have been saving fabric (as all sewists do) waiting for the perfect project and this is most definitely it. Can't wait to make my quilt. I even have all of those same fabrics you are using in this video! It was meant to be! Thank you for your detailed instructions. It is greatly appreciated. :)
I could never make this from scratch, but I am thinking I could cheat and embellish a plain off white coverlet with your gorgeous flowers. Please don't hate me. I want a flower on a shirt too.
That’s a great idea! On my first attempt to make this quilt I did exactly that… I took one big sheet and put a bunch of these roses on it instead of making the blocks. It made a lovely quilt. 💛
I adore this and will try it. Thank you!
And on a hat, and on a purse, and on a gift bag...😁
Gorgeous and what a great idea!!
Fellow quilters don’t hate. We just appreciate your work. Do the level you feel comfortable doing.
Initially I thought you were going to flip every other block upside down, so you'd have Rose's on either side, so there would be no right or wrong side. Beautiful quilt
*_That's a creative idea too Kris....Thanks so much for commenting💛_*
THAT'S WHAT I THOT ALSO... so IF you would do that , you could use different colored bobbin thread.....
I’m not sure why, but watching this tutorial I just kept crying… I guess that means I need to make this for myself! 😊
Wow...You will love making this❤️
Such a neat idea. Gonna use all my scapes, buy several pair of scissors and get my granddaughters help me cut this out so they can get interested in quilting. Even stichig this by hand would teach them to use the needles. Awesome, thanks, thank you.
This is my very favorite quilt I’ve seen !! I’m definitely going to do this one ! Thank you so much !! And I love the wonderful music while just watching you sew without voiceovers so calming ! !
I love the no talking, with lovely music!
This is sew cute! Imagine using some old shirts and skirts with sheets!
Great idea Marth !!!🦋
I made 3 of these quilts years ago. The pattern is called "French Roses". I made them for family and none to sell as it was copyrighted. I didn't put mine together that way, just sewed squares together. I did more sewing on my leaves. They're one of the prettiest quilt patterns I've ever seen. Nice work!
Thank you Virginia...my pattern is not copyrighted so feel free to use my technique to make✅ The pattern you are talking about uses templates...my technique is all "improv"💛
Almost like a rag quilt ‘. I love to make these and I use people’s clothes for memory . They sale a pattern just like this , but love how you free handed the quilting
I have amassed a stack of yoyo circles over the years, different sizes and I was thinking a balloon quilt??? No, I think they will become roses!🌹
And the music was so peaceful, funny, it made the whole thing appear so doable and relaxing.
Here I am a year later and I did make this quilt and looove it! My friends love it too! It did not cost me a penny..I just used what I had and had a blast making it !! That is one thing I can check off my sewing bucket list! Thanks for video!
What an absolutely lovely snuggly quilt!! I was with you until that tiny binding---but after it was done I understood. Very creative!
*_Thanks for hangin' in to find out why it was so small. LOL😂 Thank you Joy for the kind feedback💛_*
I was thinking the same thing! But it worked out perfectly.
Making this with my own twist
I love it! I would add clipping the connecting seams though like a rag quilt! It turned out beautiful!
*_Great idea!! Thank you!🌹_*
I MUST make this quilt! Thank you for sharing this!
This is absolutely gorgeous. I’m a beginner at quilting (never too late to start!) (I’m retired now), and this quilt sings to my heart and seems like something I could manage! Thank you so much for your lovely ideas and the time you take to make these very helpful and creative videos.
*_Jessica......and oh does it sing to my heart too 💛LOL😂 This is beginner friendly for sure.....Try out a sample rose with some scraps and see how it feels to you...if it seems easy enough then GO FOR IT!👍🏻_*
I started quilting after I retired too. GO BOOMERS!
We have a Retired Quilters Club! :)
@@lindalou6391 beautiful quilt. Love your fabric.
This is so beautiful! It pulls me in and won’t let go. I’m don’t even sew much less quilt but I feel like I could do this. I’m putting this in my 2024 project list.
