Lol I got home last night and I was fuckin drunk and was locked out so I was mad and just kicked my own door in on my brand new house no fucks given at that point so I just spent all morning fixing that shit haha god damnit

@@QuartzCowboy lol I kinda did it a cheaper faster way I took the pieces of the jamb that broke up covered them in a super strong wood glue and retro fit it all back together and then tac nailed it together right so once the wood glue dries it’ll be locked together bonded good and then reinforced by the nails I used to lock it all together while drying. It said that glue dries stronger than wood so hopefully once it dries it should be good as new took me only like an hour and looks good just can see thin cracks where it was all broke off and got reattached.

How much would a job like that cost
For labor and supplies around $300, if you do it yourself under $100
I'm probably missing something but wouldn't it be easier to just use a oscillating tool to cut that broken section out and replace it with a 1x4? What would be the drawbacks of just doing that instead of replacing the entire side?
