McDaniels in Denver: Traded pro bowler Cutler, I think traded Brandon Marshall, drafted Tebow, we know how that ended, huge blunders. In Oakland: blackballs his own pro bowl caliber qb in Derek Carr, and trades freak TE Darren Waller. Its insane how this guy was hired, and was thought to be a great HC candidate.
Getting fired in mid-season screams failure.
McDaniels has managed to now have had that done to him twice - a NFL record, I think.
The fact he'd been fired mid-season in Denver ought to have been enough evidence he was not the best HC option for Las Vegas - but ownership there is clearly incompetent.
Let's call him Daniel Snyder West.
Yeah ended with Cutler not winning jack with Bears and Tebow winning a playoff game with a Broncos team that was going nowhere that year.

The reason the Belichick coaching tree doesn't work is because of Tom Brady. Belichick is just like his tree when he leaves Brady.

Brady is the common denominator to all this winning. People must deal with it. Brady made these chumps winners, even Belichick was a losing HC before him and is a losing HC now.
He drafted Brady and developed him. Why do people talk about Brady as if he's from a previous regime. Belicheck won an AFC championship game without Brady, and won 3 Superbowls with him as nothing more than a glorified game manager. Four if you count 2018 if we're being honest. Of course, a franchise QB of Brady's level will always be more valuable than a coach. Let's not engage in revisionist history to explain Belichick's recent struggles. Players aren't the only ones who suffer from decline due to aging.

The Spurs and Pop have churned out plenty of championship coaches from their tree. Pop also made the playoffs and was competitive post-Kawhi with Derozan and Murray and only tanked for 2 seasons and now has a young exciting core and a future generational talent.

The Belichick coaching tree sucks because none of them have Tom Brady to bail them out at every turn and cover up all the inefficiencies of their teams. Bill Belichick included. It was always #12.
Chris, the reason they didn’t trade Davante or Jacobs etc. is that not only did they fire the HC, they fired the GM too!
The GM was not going to make a move like that right before getting shown the door.
The trade deadline ended before he got fired, so how was he going to do that?

Quite a few head coaches that fell under the "Bill Walsh" tree had some sort of success-----Mike Holmgren, Dennis Green, George Siefert, Andy Reid, Brian Billick, Jon Gruden, Mike Tomlin, Steve Mariucci, Dennis Green, etc.

I really like the sports commentator Rob has become since been humbled for his horrendous takes on major stations for years. One of his many brutal L’s was his constant attacks on Tom Brady. All these coaches come out of the Bill Belichick tree thinking they can run this "My Way or the Highway" approach to coaching & it doesn't work.
Coaching at the highest professional level is a Partnership between the coach & the best players, particularly the QB.
Where McDaniels went wrong was when he got rid of Derek Carr. He recognized Carr probably wasn't good enough to win the whole thing with, but he didn't replace him with an upgrade. Jimmy G is in the same tier, but notches slightly below. The players see this & lose faith in the coach knowing what he's doing.
At the end of the day it's the Players that breathe life into & elevate the Xs & Os on the page, especially your best players. If you're Not partnering with them & your singular approach doesn't breed results you are sealing your demise with no hope of self-correction.
Without Tom Brady bellichest gets fired within a couple of years.

Adam Gase was given 2 HC jobs just because he had Peyton Manning and Jay Cutler.. Nathaniel Hackett, Joe Philbin and Ben Macadoo were all terrible and all had Aaron Rodgers.. We’re seeing how bad Eric Behinemy is without Mahomes.. There’s a pattern
They don't work out because the Patriots were not great teams because of their coaching staffs. They were great teams because the NFL kept helping them win so Tom Brady could play in as many high-profile games as possible, and the NFL could demonstrate high ratings, which they could turn into billion dollar broadcast rights contracts.
This is the real world that brain-dead NFL fans don't understand...Tom Brady was an illusion created by the NFL to make money. This is EXACTLY why Bill Belichick suddenly forgot how to coach, and Bruce Arians suddenly became a "genius" once Brady got there.
