    Alonso is a great driver. But I have doubts he could sustain a season-long battle against Max. Or even Lewis, George or Charles.

      As an alonso fan I'd rather shift with him to Dakar. Much more interesting than F1

      @@vi14753 I want Alonso to do well at whatever he does. He’s truly a legend of not just F1 but motorsport in general.

      @@gameofender4463 yea, I also want drivers like george and Charles to give max a run for his money
      I want some competition like 2022, if not 2021

      The only reason people actually think he’s still at the top of the sport in terms of ability is because his teammate is lance stroll. Calling him top 3 even sounds pretty ridiculous to me. He wouldn’t be able to keep up with russel, leclerc or even sainz imo

      @@dirkbrouwer6281 stroll wouldn't be able to keep up, alonso is very much at the top of his game atm. Jus because the aston has become shit again doesn't mean he's washed

    With the costcap, employees other than the drivers become way more important because you need the best ones to construct and build your car, not just the most.

    A cost cap sliding scale would be great. Teams at the bottom could spend more than teams at the top. But that will never happen

    • @dirkbrouwer6281
      @dirkbrouwer6281 Před 2 měsíci

      That would introduce scenarios where teams stop trying halfway through a season in order to be able to spend more money the next season if they don’t think they can be in the top 3 anymore

      @@dirkbrouwer6281 possibly, but prize money to the constructors is based on where they finish, so there's still an incentive to finish higher in the standings. Especially for the teams at the back of the field where $9 million separating one place from another is a big deal. Also pride and ego will prevent certain teams from tanking like that

    In "age of extinction", transformium is only used to make the Megatrons(villian) again and causes a disaster

    Looking at the cost cap, if the 2026 season flips again to another manufacturer taking dominance due to change of regulations will f1 finally change things or will they continue as is……

    Depends what they mean by “win”. A race, definitely. Ferrari never went all the way down.
    A championship, I believe they can. They have the driver and all the infrastructure etc do it. They just need a better car. Which can come with new regulations.

    discussing costcap and no discussion of Red Bull breaching it and getting away with it? wow

    does the cost cap really hinder top teams? i mean, red bull didn't totally change their philosophy and still be at the top. it's up to a team to get it right. at the start of the hybrid era with no cost cap, u saw merc utterly dominate.
