    It should be pointed out that Charles Schwab Stadium was built specifically for the NCAA College World Series. The CWS had been held in Omaha for decades at Rosenblatt Stadium, which was the home of the Omaha Royals, the AAA affiliate of MLB's Kansas City Royals. When it was decided that Rosenblatt needed to be replaced, the Royals and the NCAA had very different ideas on what kind of facility should be built, and the Royals (now known as the Omaha Storm Chasers) moved to a stadium in the suburbs that seats about 8 - 10k, while the NCAA got the City of Omaha to build the MUCH larger Charles Schwab Stadium (24k capacity, expandable to 35k) for the CWS. Creighton playing their home games there is just a little bonus.

      Rosenblatt Stadium basically College Baseball version of Rose Bowl.
      it still sadden me that they demolished that stadium.

    • @BroadwayJoe99
      @BroadwayJoe99 Před 2 lety +3

      @@derkaiserzen True, but refurbishing and expanding Rosenblatt probably would've been a difficult task, not to mention putting all parties out of Omaha for at least one year or maybe longer. At the end of the day, each party got what they wanted. The Storm Chasers got a modern AAA ballpark with a just-right capacity, and the NCAA got a permanent showplace for the CWS, and they pack it out every night of the tournament.

I also saw games at UMass Lowell Tsongas center, UNH Whittemore center arena, Northeastern's Matthew's arena, BC's Conte forum, BU's Agganis arena, and Bright-Landry center in Harvard. fun fact, before this year LSU held the record for highest average attendance per game and was the only school to average more than 10,000 fans per game. They were dethroned by Arkansas this year apparently (meaning for the first time ever LSU wouldnt be the only school an average of 10,000+ fans per game as both Arkansas and Mississippi state passed the 10k mark with Ole miss being just 2 below).
    However what's interesting to point out about this is that this year the Oakland A's only average 8,449 fans per game meaning that there are 4 schools who had a higher average attendance for their baseball games than the oakland A's have had so far.
    Though whats even more interesting is that prior to 2020, from 2018-2019 LSU baseball had a higher average attendance at their games than the Miami Marlins as well.

Credit to the GOAT Coach Pat Casey for building a 3 time national championship program now in the hands of his 2 time champion catcher Coach Mitch Canham. I had a feeling you wouldn't hit the Northeast US. There's a new baseball stadium at UConn (University of Connecticut) that is beautiful. UConn baseball might not be as well known as their basketball teams, but we have MAJOR LEAGUE PLAYERS. Hope you'll do another video of college baseball fields.

    UF has a brand new stadium that was voted America's prettiest college ballpark and I would have to agree. 🐊🐊🐊

    I'm surprised a few minor league teams aren't contracting to use these beauties, but then I remember they're playing at the same time so... Yeah!

    You show two stadiums in Virginia and still didn’t get the most beautiful in the state. Davenport Field at Disharoon Park (“The Dish”) at the University of Virginia is tops in the state and one of the nicest in the country.

    I don't know about amazing facility, but Michigan State's field has a hill in right field, making it pretty unique.

    Incomplete if you don't have Oregon's PK Park...it's pretty awesome. Schwab stadium should not be in there since it was specifically built for the college world series, after the city of Omaha decided that Rosenblatt stadium (the previous home to the CWS) had been out grown and had seen better days.
