I'm so proud men have started to open up. I'm 36 and had problems but never dreamed about talking about it but when you see legends do it then you feel you can cause you respect them

David seaman was a real shock for me..id never heard anything about this and I always had such admiration for him, but I’ve ten times that now for him. I’m suffering from severe depression from a brain injury I got a year ago but watching these guys is helping me to understand how it effects everything in life.. thanks fellas and keep up the fight. 🙏

It must take a herculean amount of mental strength to go out in front of a baying crowd every week knowing that all eyes are on you. To do it while struggling with mental health issues is on another level entirely, so fair play to these guys.
Thanks for being open lads. We see too many men afraid to speak up because it's seen as "unmanly" or some nonsense. Top blokes. Hopefully will do people favours that are struggling 💪🏼

merse was my childhood hero playing football, so I always will defend him when idiots online have a pop. Nobody knows what people go through with mental health issues, I am glad attitudes are changing now.

It takes a real man to talk about their problems and issues! Merson, Groves and Seaman are brilliant. Us guys suffer in silence too much when 3 idols talk about problems it’s a great help to all us. Thank you. We are not alone! It’s good to talk!

!00% correct, this man is speaking from a place of honesty and his "humanity shines" through! Courage, Heart and Truth.... Such a great interview and revealing too.... He is so right about the fear of communication for far too many people and it is tragic, I hope this changes.....
I'm a Liverpool fan, but it makes me sad to see these football legends tell how down they were at the height of their fame and after. I hope that they know now that they can talk to people if/when feeling down. These dark days need to be left behind when people were too afraid to express themselves.
Videos like these are amazing, it helps so many people open up about there mental health (me included) to have your idols being so open and confident with speaking out is beyond inspirational

3 Arsenal legends! Our best ever goal keeper, the magic man Merse who’s came through the ranks to become a world class midfielder and Groves nephew of Vick, a pacy winger Graham bought for peanuts from Colchester! They always cared about the club and the crest and gave 100% to AFC! 😀👍🏻
I love all 3 of these players, proud they all played for Arsenal during a great time for our club.

It’s the best thing you can do is talk to someone you know and credit to sky for getting there guys together, there’s been a few now and so many people suffer in silence and it’s hard to spot it sometimes even when u really know someone, it shows anyone can have mental health problems it’s a normal part of life and it can be dealt with

at 10:00, when dave seamans talking about letting everyone down if he makes a mistake, i instantly thought of robert enke and the tragic story of his life, he felt he let everyone down when he had a bad performance. i know we talk about football as life and death but it is just a game, i absolutely love it, but its a game and feelings and emotions should be left on the pitch, it shouldn't manifest and transfer into someones personal life and affect their mental state. thank you for sharing your stories fellas

Merson is a strong man, massive respect because not everyone has the strength and bravery to admit it and talk openly about it, shows that he is on the right track and he will overcome the obstacles and struggles and it will make him stronger.

Merse is a total inspiration been watching him on Harry's heroes when he tried to help razor felt for him big time.many of us have demons but he was in the public eye earning fortunes I can't imagine it .. good luck Merse your family look amazing they deserve to have you around
Great to see the honesty and openness in this discussion. We are all vulnerable, football stars are not superhuman, they are ordinary people with the same problems as anyone else.
My life is still turmoil , these guys have support fantastic, my life is solitary and empty and still hell . Looking out the window for days weeks and can't move . Because of my mental health l have lost everyone really. These guys are great but it hurts to listen . God bless you guys. Terry

Well done to the three of you, especially PM, who i thought many years ago was a bit of arrogant sod, despite being a good footballer. I've since changed my opinion about him for opening up to his addictions. Recently seen Harry's Boys European Tour and listened to him talking about his previous problems, which i mostly was unaware of. I have now come to realise the inner torment he previously suffered, how he has now hopefully changed his life for the better. I now think he is a brilliant and exceptional person and i sincerely applaud him👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 and wish him every success and happiness for the future.

It's weird that it's historically been seen as being weak for a man to show his true feelings yet to me it's always been obvious that it takes enormous courage and is in fact a massive strength to reveal how we are really coping!
Always liked Perry Groves, he always gave his all in games and scored some important goals for Arsenal. He has also won as many league titles as Tottenham

Isnt it so stupid how we judge people or their persona. I did with Paul Merson, I hated him on the pitch. But I think tha he is now a great role model. A genuinely lovely person with a great capacity for life and love.

It's a balance I've had mental health problems but you still love the banter
Never underestimate the power of the mind, everybody should take up a course in meditation, do the meditation on a daily basis, just for ten minutes, then over a period of time feel how calm and focused you will be, Paul merson is waking up, everybody is waking up, talk to each other try not to over think, your mind is your worst enemy, well done mers, very inspiring
The importance of this being shared with young men, should not be overlooked. I have lost some pals over the years who could not talk. As a Spurs fan I have massive respect for you all.
