    Duffel bags are a stable of most people's travel packing needs. They work great in vehicles as they're lightweight, somewhat flexible, hold a bunch of stuff, and help you stay organized. I get asked questions about various duffels in my Weekenderlander videos, so I figured I'd toss my main used ones in a video for you. Enjoy the duffel bags.

      Get a Big Daddy membership, they have great deals on Vertx. Also need to be aware of a big issue with this bag, the straps can't really handle weight. The straps themselves are strong enough so far but not the adjustment buckles, the straps slide right through leaving them at full length.

    Hey Mike I was wondering how much clothes do you think you could honestly pack inside the contingency duffel 45L ? At least a weeks worth ?

  • @RDuude
    @RDuude Před rokem

    My two gripe with the duffle is the inside is not as roomy as I'd like. I don't use the main compartment pouches at all unless it's something relatively flat because otherwise I can't fit what I need to fit in there. I switched from a cheap $20 walmart duffle which was honestly great and held everything I needed, but it was cheaply made. Second gripe is I'm carrying a backpack already so I have the duffle slung over my shoulder and like that center grab handle duffles have to adjust if need be, but since center grab handle turns into the shoulder strap I lose that center grab handle.

    TNF duffle: bought one last year. Burly fabric, maybe too burly; when it’s cold, that fabric isn’t pliable, which makes it difficult to close/use. The stitching on the bottom wicks moisture into the bag - not ideal for snow, puddles, wet ground. I had to seam seal mine. Definitely better options out there for the money.

Look, I get it, you're sponsored now, but have you ever thought to go back to your roots and do honest, unbiased, unsponsored reviews or products that you AREN'T sponsored by (IE. VERTEX)? Once again to reiterate my point, I understand your sponsored, but what ever happened to "EDC Bag/Duffle/Truck bag etc. Reviews" that *AREN'T VERTEX*? They were FAR more enjoyable then to pimp out the latest bags the brand has to offer.

      lol. Go back through my 200+ videos and count how many are vertx, not even hating or mad, just genuinely curious. I don’t actually have a single actual “sponsor” who just pays me to rep anything, but if you’re talking about getting products for testing and review, then Arcteryx, tactical distributors, 5.11, triple Aught designs, Magpul, Vanquest, SOG (to name a few) are all “sponsors”. This video showed 4 bags from 4 different brands, but as can be seen in the video only one of the 4 bags was anything more than a shell with a big pocket. Naturally being a “features” guy, I spent time talking about features, of which the Vertx bag was really the only one with any.

      This *isn't even* clothing [ie. BEST rainjacket on market - vertex (2018)], pants, etc. You used to even review sog, vanquest, etc., (unfortunately never any 5.11 bags as you only stuck to the pants they sent to you). You should really use disclaimers like "the company has provided me these products to adv... i mean endor... i mean review" right up front, albeit most people can connect the dots, especially with 25% off code after code.
      As previously stated, please do not take offense. I have thoroughly enjoyed your videos for *years*, however, vertex after vertex, "best bag 2018... best bag 2019," tends to take away from the content.

      I try not to show and use inferior products for the sake of variety. Since I get everything for free, I’ll use whatever works best. Make sense?

    The Vertx Contingency has major flaws.

      @@noizychild The straps suck, they're WAY too weak for the size and loaded weight of the bag. The rifle sleeve is too short vertically, an AR will fit but not with anything more then a small optic on it. For my application it's reversed, mine spends time on my passenger seat, but for the rifle scabbard to face me the long side pocket has to be against the seat back. It's still the best bag I have for my application, but it could be MUCH better if they'd thought it out a bit more. In particular the straps, that one pisses me off daily.
