Thanks, Gwen.😊 I used a 2 gallon pitcher I took the top off & stuffed my hat on it upside-down. The iron thing is an idea I learned from your tutorial. Great ideas.
Whao! I like it very much, congrats! The outfit at the end is so cute and elegant. I would wear it too. Thanks for the video :)

yes, that's correct, but I haven't made a video on it😅 Engineering Knits has a video does, but clearly you've seen that one or you wouldn't be here☺️ if it's help you need I can really recommend you join the historic knitting groups on Facebook, they've helped me out in the past!
@@GwensShenanigans thank you so very much for your help and I have subscribed to your channel I love watching your videos and look forward to more, hugs Lynn Weasenforth 💯💜💛💙🌹
They are indeed called a hat blocks :)
Our modern mass-produced hats doesn't get proper treatment and it shows pretty clearly in how flat your thrifted hat was. The hats from the days of hats, 20s included, used a stiffening material made of a of ethylacetate solution. I've did this with a 50s style straw hat I made last year. I'm afraid I don't know the English or dutch name of it but here is a link to a Swedish hatter and milliner (yes, she's both and she is wonderful!). She can probably help you figure out what it's called and where you can it. She herself to professional milliners mainly so she only caries it in large containers, but she is always ready to help a fellow hat-enthusiast out!

that's a good tip, thank you! I don't really make a lot of hats, but it's something I'd like to get into more in the future and this is very useful information to future me.🙌❤️
I hope that would work with faux straw hats that I see everywhere in the stores
Good question! do you have plans to try it?
@@GwensShenanigans not now, but when I do, I'll share the results
I'd love that!
