Came for the trigger, stayed for the love that was put into the video.
I’m sold and ordering one tonight
Ordering one myself.
It does not fit.
Halfway through this disassembly video I started thinking my factory flat trigger isn’t really that bad 😆.
I was thinking the same thing, but I was able to do the spring upgrade with very little problem.
Not bad, just not as good as Shield 2.0 too much travel and reset. Still mushy on sear and need a polish
It’s not that bad after the first time you do it
Thanks very much, Chris, for a really good tutorial on installing the MCarbo flat trigger, as well as your trigger spring kit. I’m 72, and the P 365 is my first gun ever of any kind. I really like the gun, and I concealed-pocket-carry it most days. But, at the range, I found its trigger too stiff and difficult to pull for my taste. So, when I discovered MCarbo’s CNC trigger, I bought it, as well as the trigger spring kit. I really liked your video talking about what MCarbo went through designing it, and I was encouraged by your step-by-step instructions and the clear video of the process. It was pretty easy to follow, with one exception being when you put in the safety lever pin. I initially put it in rotated around about 90° from where it should have been, and I didn’t see how its lip needed to go over the small vertical projection on the back end of the takedown safety lever. This, of course, kept the gun from operating when I put it back together. The other thing that confused me was that you didn’t show what to do with my manual safety. But, after carefully observing how it worked, I was able to remove it, then later replace it. Since it partially covers the sear parts, I figured (correctly) that it should go in last. The other thing I found, with my gun, at least, was that when the trigger set screw had two threads showing, that that was too high, and it kept the trigger from being pulled far enough to fire the gun. So, I backed off the set screw, and now the trigger is smooth as butter. Now, I’m as excited as you are, and I can’t wait to get to the range and burn through some ammo! Thanks to my MCarbo brothers (I’m a USN enlisted veteran ‘69-‘73) for being there-and here in my home town of Clearwater, FL, no less!!
This video with it’s amazing explication and side by side comparison completely sold me. I had actually purchased the Sig flat trigger one day before stumbling onto this video. I watched the video and immediately purchased this trigger. Now all I need to do is try and cancel the sig trigger before it ships. Great job guys!
Love this company. They’re involved in their stuff and active. Took me 6 months to get my mcarbo kit into my p01 because I didn’t know much about internals then. Got all my parts in and it runs amazing.
They don’t warranty their work or return calls or emails. Terrible company
Well just in time. It was back ordered a month, just received the shipping email 30 minutes before this video hit, perfect timing!
I think mine will be in the next batch. I’m jelly.
Woo hoo!! I enjoyed the spring kit for my 365 xl from you all. Looking forward to this trigger now too.
Added this trigger and spring kit yesterday. Worked the gun some today- amazing! Every sig I get is gonna get these parts
Just got my flat trigger after they came back in stock, I almost opted for a different trigger but decided to wait. I also got the spring kit and hope it takes out that gritty feel when racking the slide. Also going to polish some stuff while it’s apart. Can’t wait to get this on and slap it in my new Icarus frame
I literally just finished installing the trigger and spring kit on my wife’s new Sig a few minutes ago, and only had one issue, the takedown lever didn’t want to seat, and had to massage the trigger with a file due to it bottoming out on the frame and not letting the tip of the lever to seat, but finally got it, nice trigger, very easy job, thank you for the awesome video
Great feel in the trigger. Took a few tries to juggle all the parts. I am by no means a professional armorer. Novice at best. Laying out all the parts and this video is one of the best I have seen in installing aftermarket parts. Explanation of what does what and the technical help was thorough. Having a good punch kit is not necessary but it does help.
Thanks again!!
Ordered mine today! Can't wait!
Great video!! Definitely will be buying one from you. I appreciate the time spent with this video.
It took me a few hours to install (rewinding video, toying with the parts) but I got it done. If I can do it so can you! Highly recommend getting all the pieces mentioned in this video unless you have some lying around or more experienced with take down/install. This was my first attempt at anything gun modifying and glad I got the parts.
Sweeeet video! I love how In depth you go with the information. Good job on the time put into this video. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
I had the biggest trouble putting the take down lever back in!! Simple fix but different steps than your vid, at least on the macro. It was impossible to fully insert the take down lever, what I had to do differently is install it BEFORE you reinstall the trigger pin.
That simple step took me forever to figure out.
That was honestly the hardest part but thankfully SO easy when in the right order.
Helpful video for everything else though, excited to try out the trigger now
Thanks! Same issue.
You are a lifesaver dude, thank you!
@@6666ben6666 happy I could help!!
Same issue and figured it out in my own. This should have been in the video. Now the issue is my slide keeps hitting this lever no matter what I do.
@@MannyTheDriver agreed wish it was in the video as it’s a pretty important step.
Also, I too had the same issue with the safety lever and the slide hitting it. I was told it was due to manufacturing tolerances on the safety lever. Now, I do Not recall it being an issue before I did the swap but I also didn’t have it long before I did the trigger swap.
I ordered a new replacement safety lever (just the same standard oem one) and it did seem to fix it so who knows.
I think it was $15-$20 or so
Mcarbo, this is a home run for your company, Great trigger, and it's a 👍 video. 👍
One engineer to another, I’m sold! Best product demo I’ve seen for a gun part. I like to know a little about how the sausage is made and you delivered!
I had no idea replacing the trigger had so many steps! Looks like it’s worth the money and trouble. Love my P365XL
MIM is part of life in these types of guns. You had me at geometry. That’s the ultimate win.
I agree. I really don't care if a part is MIM if it's finished well and it functions properly. The reduced travel and better geometry are what makes this trigger appealing.
I didn't know anything about FCUs. Now I know all about them and how they operate. I'm confident that I could do this..with this video. Nice job! thanks
Nice explanation. I am looking to shorten the trigger reach distance and this video does a good job of showing that.
Installed this and the mcarbo spring kit on a new p365 with oil and no PTFE grease and the 10 pull average went from 7lbs 2oz to 4lbs 11oz. the wall is much more defined and smooth to pull through it got rid of the scratchy feeling I was experiencing on stock components. Was such a pain in the ass to figure out compared to glock or ar triggers. I can admire their ability to design this puzzle but it has given me a new respect for the simplicity of glock.
I ordered the M*Carbo trigger on Friday and received it via Fedex on Sunday, great 2 day service at no additional cost. This new trigger is replacing a GrayGuns P365 flat trigger that hurt my finger after a couple rounds to shoot. Not every flat trigger is the same.
Installed this on my X-Macro and put a couple hundred rounds through it. The slide comp helps with muzzle flip from the factory but my ability to engage with a lighter trigger pull and predictable reduced reset, all in, makes a world of difference.
Not usually a fan of 'modding' EDC, but this is an exception and it's in the rotation
Makes me excited to get my new trigger into my X-Macro 😎
Would it be worth it to upgrade with the full kit in your opinion?
@@Tyler224424 I went with the trigger and spring set because they're mechanically complementary, definitely worth it. Didn't bother with the striker upgrade as I haven't experienced the striker drag some of the earlier P365's did. YMMV
This was my only concern. The trigger mod on my M&P is butter but has resulted in a very picky gun with regards to ammo and lite strikes. I swore I would not mod the trigger on my EDC but the factory trigger is really not to my liking
I was able to install mine today. My take down lever needed a couple of taps from a mallet to go all the way in. even aligned the right way, but outside of that pretty smooth sailing. The sear aligning tip definitely saved a headache.
Just added this MCarbo trigger to my 365; LOVE IT!!!
Update: got to take it out this weekend and run a box through it… really impressed! Smooth, short stroke, quick reset. Trigger plus MCarbo spring kit, and some smooth internals make for a great setup. Thanks MCarbo!
Pretty damn impressive for a marketing guy!
That striker sleeve backplate removal process is insane.
Good explanation, that said idiots will not comprehend. Very good video
Great video, looking forward to trying it out.
I reccomend the Wilson Combat grip frames. Easy to swap out and is the difference between o.k. and a real solid feel/grip-Best of luck -God bless.
@@ShawnShipstad think you responded to the wrong person.
Sold! 😂 Just ordered the trigger, spring set, punch set, and bench block. Striker assembly will be next. Thanks for engineering some cool upgrades for a very interesting modular platform. Always wanted to customize an edc, and the P365X just checked all the boxes for me. I like tinkering, so it looks like a piece of cake. Definitely done some very meticulous tinkering in my day. It'll be worth it.
Installing mine tomorrow. The FCU is slightly more complex than I had imagined, but since it's out of the frame it looks like you can access all the itty bitty parts more easily. Great video, thanks for taking your time and really explaining everything.
You can stick a flathead screwdriver behind the plastic housing for the striker and push it forward. No need to mangle it all up. Sor those with the sas model, this trigger appears to fit and work. With the slide release, you need to put it back in BEFORE you install the new trigger.
I’m a cnc machinist that also runs a 5th axis and once I came across this trigger I was SOLD! Better than anything else I’ve found and WAYYYY better than the stupid injection molded trigger.
Good in depth video very detailed much more involved with the P365 short stroke trigger than the P320 was rather simple there's no way l would attempt this upgrade to the gunsmith
One critical thing: the takedown lever. I followed this video and the spring kit video to the T. I was able to take apart and install everything no issues. But when I went to reassemble my slide wouldn’t go all the way on and lock back. You have to make sure to push the takedown lever until it clicks for it to be all the way in. Once it was in there was no issues. Other then that great video, great products would highly recommend.
Yes please make a solid housing. The plastic on mine seems so cheap. I put the upgrade’s on 👍🏽. Just waiting to test fire
Waiting on my X-Macro to arrive. This trigger combined with a Icarus grip mod is going to be sweet.
IF YOU HAVE AN SAS, the take down level has to be inserted before the trigger is fully on, it won't go past the point you need it to in order to seat properly. So you put back in the takedown lever, straddle the trigger, put on the bar, and then back the take down lever off so you can put the other bar into the slot, etc. I couldn't get the slide to go back on, it would dead stop about 10% before flush with where it would normally end up. SAS take down lever is a pain.
Great tutorial but way beyond my comfort level. Now I need to find someone to do the work for me after I order the upgrade.
I put only the trigger in my gun (not the springs), and the takeup is definitely shorter (feels like maybe 1cm of total takeup now), and the reset seems a lot shorter and even more positive as well.
I already have another 365 which had a lot of trigger work done to it (which feels great, but still has a lot of takeup), and this makes me want to put one of these short stroke triggers in that one too.
Installed it minus the springs and its awesome.. may do springs at some point, but the gun is new, so im gonna let it break in. May not need springs at that point. Gonna be my back up
On a new nanufacture 365X I was having problems , getting the take down lever back in, while following the directions of the video. The solution was to do the trigger bar. But not seat it in the disconnector/sear section of the fcu. I then help the trigger bar attached to the trigger , back as far as I could and pushed the takedown lever through, and was able to rotate it over its groove
I am ordering mine today 💪😎
Without this video I would've never got my trigger and spring kit installed. It was definitely involved and frustrating, but I got it done and happy I did! Thank you for the video
Took me and the other smith's 30min each trigger...very simple and easy install
I just completed the trigger and new springs installation! Omg I’m shaking from nerves. No way in hell I could have done this without your video!
Btw what a difference! Wow! Just the trigger alone was huge. And now with the lighter springs. I also own a 365 sas so I was able to do a side by side simultaneous comparison. Massive difference. Thank you guys so very much!!!!
excellent video, the only complication is that I have the 365XL with a manual safety, so the details of the manual safety present a bit of a different issue with the disassembly of the FCU.
TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!
the orientation of the safety lever pin upon reassembly was not clear to me and I ended up locking my gun up for a few minutes upon putting the gun back together.
fortunately I was able to get it apart and found that it needed to be rotated 180 degrees, which solved the issue.
however once the slide was back on the gun as intended, the trigger wouldn't go off.
So I backed out the trigger screw a couple small turns, and it's working perfectly now.
Don't start this late and have alot of patience and light. This btw is a perfect breakdown video how evwr i have the safety switch which is one more step to remove and install. 👍👍👍
Yep I'm sold. I recently purchased a 365 X Macro as well so this will be nice because the triggers on these things are horrible compared to my X5 Legion
My trigger should arrive today for my non-thumb safety XMacro. It sounds like an install video is needed for CA complaint thumb safety versions having issues with the safety lever interfering with the trigger bar... Will update with my experience after install.
Very nice
What kind of testing (round count, abuse, failure point...etc) have you guys performed with the trigger? Also, have you guys tested it with your spring kits for the 365? How did that play out?
I'm curious to take a look at it but of course I fear not using Sig parts or even modifying a carry gun at all. Essentially that is all the 365 is to me.
In the video it shows Chris shooting with the trigger and spring kit installed, watch until the end. And the trigger is machined from steel and then hardened as opposed to oem mim, can’t see how it could fail imo.
On my California version p365 on the trigger pin it has a little nub at the end that with the stock trigger you tapped it in.... With the m carbo trigger just file it down and push the pin in
Ok I'm going to order one. A request.. make a larger safety that doesn't suck! lol Thanks!
You should offer upgraded trigger bar and sear set as well. There is room to improve on sear break to be less mushy.
Just installed this on my gun tonight, off all the things that could give me grief, I was not expecting it to be the damn take down lever. It just would not go back in with the trigger in there, even the damn striker sleeve gracefully folded out of the way with minimal marring, but that take down lever was as stubborn as a mule to go back in its home.
I love my sig except for the stippling and the trigger. Once I get my grip re-stippled I'm definitely getting this upgrade.
Get the new Wilson Combat grip module. It's way way better than the OEM module.
@@Beltfedshooters mine is coming in soon, super pumped for the WC grip module. This gun with that grip, zev tech extended mag release, and the mcarbo upgrades is such a great shooter
Any polishing to accompany this particular trigger? (Compared with some of your other products/videos)
hi chris, any way to get rid of the slop and slack before the break. i want it to set at six and ready to go. the initial slop i can adjust to, but when i think i am at the wall and there is still more slack it is throwing me off.
i have compared the 3 main aftermarket triggers and mcarbo for feel and reset is #1 for crisp..
i dont want to mess with the set screw and back it out, the idea of messing with the fcu is a bit much for me.
someone had suggested a longer set screw. would that help take out the slop and slack and set it dead at 6?
good product i just want this to set like my freedomsmith sport on my canik
also your products saved the keltec pmr 30 from going to the shat pile
thanks for the engineering
Nice !
Nice product
Trigger should start further back to allow more room for fingers/gloves. It can be done and it improves the trigger a ton
Bless y’all
Hmmmm...Im going to order your trigger for my P365 X Macro Comp.. Your trigger travel is phenominal!!! $80 is a value... Ive bought MCarbo products before and they are TOP NOTCH QUALITY!!!! Ill get Price's Gun Repair to install the trigger...
It would be nice if there was a video specific to the SAS model. I have spent 12-15 hours on installing the trigger and spring kit. Most of the problem was in reassembly. Then when I had to all back together and it functioned, the takedown button, not the lever reset after locking the slide back. I seriously wish I hadn’t started this project. I have done other aftermarket triggers and springs but have never had this much trouble. Plus, dry firing, I am not too impressed with the trigger action.
Just ordered one tonight for my macro, currently 20$ off
Love my 365XL. I've bought the CNC trigger and will be installing it soon. As far as things for M*Carbo to work on... is there anything you can do with the cartoonish sound the striker makes when dry firing? Instead of a solid 'click' it makes a muted 'boing' sound - sorta like Elmer chasing Daffy and stepping on a rake and the sound the handle makes smacking him in the face... I'm guessing the striker spring is resonating in it's channel after the striker fires. A nit-pick to be sure but it makes the gun seem a bit like like a toy... Does the spring kit reduce this or just change the pitch? Thanks
This!!!
Is the short leg of the sear spring supposed to click up onto a ledge and not come down? I can't move it up without it doing that and not ending up on the safety lever pin..
I have a 365X Macro. Just removed the striker assembly and there was no small spring inside the striker sleeve; did Sig do away with that spring on the 365X Macro?
If the trigger break was at 90 degrees or if it angled forward like the $40 trigger I’d definitely buy
@mcarbo, so is there a solution to the safety lever not sitting flush after trigger install ? If anyone else has any input, that would be great too. Notice in the video when he put the slide back on, he put it on then the safety lever caught it. He tried for about 1 seconds, then the video is cut and edited, and the slide is past that safety lever. I would like to see the unedited version showing this known issue, and how you ended up getting the slide back on past that safety lever that isn't flush after the trigger install.
Does having a safety change anything if I want to add this flat trigger? Can I just replace trigger for trigger ? I’ve seen other companies say you need a whole kit.
Even though I love the feel of this trigger after going to the range and firing 200 rounds on any given day the trigger pinch I get from this particular trigger leaves a nasty blister on my finger pad. I wish it was slightly curved and broke at 90 degrees even, then it would be perfect.
Why do they have s 1” gap behind the trigger? Im thinking move that shoe back 3/8” ran off the rear side of the top section
I thought Walther was going to take the lead in pistol technology after the amazing P99/PPQ series, but Sig stepped up to the plate and left Walther in the dust.
P365XL, no manual safety in case specifics are need... but, in general, when replacing a stock trigger with this replacement, are there safety concerns? Ie, is the firearm still drop safe?
Probably a dumb question, but which steps can I skip to only replace the trigger without changing any springs?
I am looking to buy one but have been holding out for a stainless or nickel color. When might I expect that color to come out.
Will this trigger do anything for me as far as reducing trigger reach? I have small hands with short fingers. I sold my Glock 19 to try a 365 XL and despite the tiny grip I still struggle a little to get my finger in there properly. I have tried the stock flat trigger as well as the factory curved trigger which honestly did not improve things that much. If only the reach were a little shorter it would be perfect. I really don't want to go down a rabbit hole spending hundreds on different upgrades. Any advice is appreciated!
This was MUCH harder than the video makes it out to be. Some of the geometries of the trigger are off on mine, it doesn't look like the one in this video. I eventually figured out a way to put it back together but it took a lot of time.
Not specific enough to be helpful, would have been nice if you had taken pictures and made a post on reddit or one of the forums.
This is one of the easier trigger installs...took me and my Smith's 15min he trigger and we did 20 yesterday
Can you make another “abridged version” tutorial for those of us with ADD? I lost you at about the 2 minute mark.
I’ve sent a couple emails and calls go to voicemail. I installed my trigger and my safety lever won’t go all the way down to get my slide back on. Very slightly lifted. I’m a little hesitant to do any grinding without any input on whether this is a common issue or specific recommendations.
Why didn't you mention the safety being proud after the trigger installation? It seems you cut away in your video at 105:50 when your slide stopped at the safety and resumed the video after it was replaced. What does MCrorbo mean again? I'm a veteran also.
I suffered a cracked striker sleeve from dry firing my Walther PPS for a month or so. Walther was kind enough to send me 3 of them for free via FedEx but I have to wonder if disassembly of the P365 might compromise the sleeve also.
We have a stainless steel replacement out now!
@@MCARBOThank you. Edit: I see one that's titanium. Is that what you mean?
Yes, the striker is titanium and the striker housing is stainless steel.@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017
Is the trigger and the spring separate components? Or does the trigger include the spring?
Took my wife to the gun range. Rented the Sigg 365 380 ACP and the Glock 42. Shot Federal 380 ACP ammo. On the Sigg every 5 round it won’t fire or feed properly 😢. I was thinking that it was pretty dirty due to it was a rental gun. The Glock 42 in 380 with its 6 rounds worked flawlessly using the federal ammo. She likes the sig because of its ten rounds vs the Glock with its 6. The range guy Broke them both down and both were extremely nasty look like mud in both guns. He did spray them out to clean them up not my standards but he cleaned them. The Sigg still hung up around the seventh to the 10th round after cleaning Glock still perform well. So if she decide to purchase the Sigg. What issues to look for? I know all guns have issues
I put the trigger in x macro and I noticed there’s a delay after pull the trigger, it’s like half a second. Does anyone know why this would happen? The only thing I changed was the trigger.
If I had a 365 I would definitely invest in this trigger. Bought Mcarbo parts in the past and they are top notch. And I've upgraded Walther's, FN's, and CZ's and I can tell you those triggers were significantly higher in price.
Nice Keyence
What is the actual trigger pull weight ? What is the sig’s actual pull weight? You ad says it “feels” like a 1/2 lb reduction , but that very subjective.
First time hand gun owner here. I purchased this trigger and spring kit for my P365XL. Since I had very little knowledge of how to install this properly, I took it to a certified gun smith that has been in the business for many years and is very reputable. I took the gun home and dry fired it to get used to this trigger. It worked exactly how he said it would in the video, except it failed on me about 10 trigger pulls in. Now the trigger just hits the wall and doesn’t break. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! PS- the gun smith told me he is a very big fan of the quality products you sell
Back out the over travel set screw, also make sure to use blue loctite on the screw.
@@tampabayspearfishing5297 appreciate the feedback, I will hit up the gun smith tomorrow. What an amazing product, this trigger really is going to take this ccw to the next level.
How did it work out?
Having this issue was running the mcarbo trigger hit the range after install trigger went after 5 rounds and sounds exactly how u described now it just is springy with no fire or reset
Do I just need back out the adjustment screw also the slide will not come off now
feels ok, but slide is not going easy on the frame with newly installed trigger, any fix?
Is it the same procedure for the fcu with manual safety?
Great step by step but holy crap there’s a lot of parts that come off just to replace the trigger.
Any news about a striker assembly replacement?
Saw way to many mentions of light primer strikes on the spring kit, definitely not interested in that on a carry gun. The trigger however is pretty nice.
This is my only concern, especially on a carry gun.
Thats cool that yours works. Mine does not 😢
