I think Hot Space (this song is from that album) is an overlooked Queen album. They really used a lot more synths than ever before and they played around with their sound. The next album was a return to a more basic rock sound but the songs on this album like Cool Cat, Hot Space, Backchat and Staying Power showed what I always thought to be a really cool side of Queen. They never really went back to it although you can sort of hear hints of this song in later tracks like A Kind Of Magic or I Want To Break Free.

I love how John can't seem to snap his fingers without blinking his eyes.

All the times I've watched the video I've never noticed. Going to watch it again now😊

That's another Queen video that was banned on MTV.
In this case it's because it was "too sexual". 🤣🤣

I like the Queen Hot Space album. The song on the album is different from their usual sound. But that makes it interesting.

I AGREE, I don’t understand why Hot Space gets such a “bad rap” when what so many Queen fans appreciate, is the fact that they experimented with so many styles/sounds?

Tony Fields the late dancer/ actor is featured in this video. He is the dancer/model with the dark hair. He was personally requested by Freddie Mercury for the video. He has also been in other music videos from the 1980s. He starred as Sammi Curr in the film trick or treat from 1986. Pluto you should check out Tony's tribute channel to react to other music videos he has been in. It's called Anthony dean fields. ❤ love the reaction. I have always liked the song and the video.

The Hot Space album did not go well with a section of Queen fans. Yes, Queen always experimented with new sounds and genres. The more I hear the album the more I do like it. More that you really do need to hear from the album is Cool Cat, Staying Power and Action This Day. Thanks for the reactions!

The single came close to top 10 on BB Hot 100 in the US but didn’t do so great in the UK. I prefer the arrangement and energy of the live performances. Check it out! Thanks.

To say that Queen went off on a bit of a tangent with the album this is from is a bit of an understatement. Unsurprisingly, it didn't really gel all that well with a fair number of fans, particularly those, 'old school', ones from the 70's! Freddie wanted to, 'sex', things up a bit with the funk style of writing and production, and so we got this. I didn't mind it, really. The singles, (of which this is one), did a little less than usual, only getting into the top 30 or top 20, rather than the usual top 10, in their native UK. The duet with David Bowie being the exception giving them their second no.1.

Officially BODY LANGUAGE was the first music video banned by MTV, making the Guinness Book Of World Records! 🤣🤣 Compared to the “slop” we see now on MTV, Body Language was quite tame in comparison. During Queen Night on Dancing With The Stars, JoJo Sewa & her partner danced to this song during the Jazz section! It was pretty good!! You must admit, the video is pretty diverse! 👍👍

Tony Fields the dancer/actor appeared in this video. He is the model/dancer with the dark hair. He has appeared in numerous other music videos from the 80s like Michael Jackson's Beat it and Dan Seals Bop video. He was a dancer/actor but sadly passed away in 1995. Freddie Mercury actually personally asked for him to appear in the video.
