I miss him but he was getting older and I felt he was going a bit off kilter IMHO, After Cesc broke his heart, Diaby’s horrendous injury (Such a shame), Nasri’s pursuit of gold (From potential world star to a glorified sub 🤦🏻‍♂️), Which in turn made RVP turn his back on us for Man Utd he had the team for the next chapter but sadly it was never realised. The signings thereafter just were shots in the dark from Giroud to Sanogo instead of PEA who went to plunder Van Persie amount of goals per season in the Bundeeliga second fiddle to Lewandoski to Xhaka and also Ox and Wallcot, and Smokey’s idiocies(You know who you are Wojciech), Also Wilshere’s injury ridden implosion they all each by each let him down and it was such a shame because back then Arsene having any association with you meant it greatly enhanced your career and they all slapped him in the face let’s look back and blame the players from once having a team of amazing players who loved our beloved club to end up with the dross that’s been played out since 2016. Let’s hold the players to account not Arsene’s because there has not been an Henry in the league since him and Arsene had a full handle on that greats career (Man and boy) the only difference is the money not the great man. Wenger was great at first but then he changed. When Abramovich purchased Chelsea and Arsenal could not compete he altered his style. He went from 6ft strong players (Viera, Campbell, Kanu, Edu) to trying copy Barcelona and play tippy tappy football with 5ft 5in players.
Arsenal fans were right to call for his head in 2018 as they were falling further and further behind. The Emirates Stafium was supposed to help Arsenal compete.

I love Arsenal and Wenger...however, the thing that bothered me most was that he pocketed large amount of money when we sold our players. We rarely reinvested and got behind....

He never won the Champions League and so there is a level of managerial tier that he can't be considered part of. He just can't.

A season that was dominated with depressing, last minute draws, and getting knocked out of cup competitions by Utd, Chelsea and Middlesbrough 🤣

Massively over rated manager, he only won 3 leagues and no European trophy in 22 years at Arsenal. That invincible season elevates him so much, he didn't even retain the premier league once. Good manager but nothing special, after Henry and Viera he never was able to create a very competitive side again...

Maybe because he was up against man united and Chelsea and city who all had greater financial power. But certainly by 2016 he fell off.

@@ay613Don't really think that matters, only 3 leagues and ZERO European trophies in 22 years I wouldn't say is that impressive to be honest.
I think to be honest the fact he never really build a team again after Henry to challenge for the league shows he wasn't a great manager.

Didn't he win the top domestic cup in the country (the FA Cup) more than any other manager in history? I agree about the no European trophy, I really do, and yes it's also correct that his league titles are dwarfed by Sir Alex... but I think to discuss the summation of his entire career and not even mention the domestic cup record is disingenuous.

@@Mezzala9 Your just deluded and see Wenger as a God, but when you look at it objectively he was nothing special at all.
Even George Graham in the early 90's won back to back leagues nothing Wenger could do...
FA cup since 2010 isn't really taken seriously, no European trophy in 22 years proves my point...average!
After Henry left he was never able to create a team that actually challenged that's over ten years...

@@stephenmason9527 I didn't say he wasn't a good manager did I if you read my original comment, I just think he's criminally over rated...
No European trophy in 22 years proves that...He only made the semi finals in the CL on two occassions 2/22...
Also never retaining the League isn't good either, Pep, Jose, Ferguson even George Graham at Arsenal did that...
But the first 3 managers are a level above Wenger...

Is there a more overrated team than the invincibles? I wonder if they’ll have Mourinho destroying him consistently on the film. A manager who only came to the premier league because Wenger became so obsessed with being invincible he didn’t try win the champions league. I mean honestly I think it’s revisionism guilt from arsenal fans because they regret hounding him out the club. A decent team but there’s probably 5 better in the premier league era alone. Embarrassing!

Of course he tried, he was obsessed with Europe, but he lacked the tactical nous. It's ironic as he was signed specifically to improve the club in Europe, but "dinosaur" George Graham won more in Europe than he did (impossible to win less)😂 In Europe he's rated far behind Sacchi, Cruyff, Guardiola, Fergie, Capello or Van Gaal.
