Exactly the same reason why I watched this video, Xbox user but played the Snes and N64 as a kid . I bought the switch for going back to games like Zelda, and Mario, just finished BOTW. Now I'm looking for which Mario I should buy. Nostalgia probably will get the better of me and go for 3d all stars just for N64 Mario title.

As a elder millennial Mario Odyssey made me fall in love with video gaming again I haven’t had a Consol since the PS1 and I now own two switches
Man, I just bought a switch for my gf after being out of the console world since the original x-box. Yes, that long. Anyways, I found myself completely lost amongst the games. I’m a PC gamer but modern Nintendo stuff is completely alien to me. This helped immensely. I picked up the 3D bowsers fury 2-in-1 one, and I’m going to pick up Mario odyssey. I’m still looking for a third and hope to get something a bit different.

Super smash brothers would be a great option for multiplayer. Luigi’s mansion for single player.

mario 3d world has always been my favorite 3d mario games simply because I don't like open world games. there is some fun with odessey but I've always just been more of a fan of 2d mario games

I would've put the origami king on the list. Yeah I know it's the revenge of the sith of the paper mario games, but I still feel that's pretty worthy all things considered.

Odyssey is absolutely a better game! But the level structure of 3D world leans toward quick playability and hopping right in and out of a gameplay session. Both have their benefits but Odyssey is def better if you’re going to commit to playing the full game

Super Mario All-Stars is available to play through the SNES (Super Nintendo) app on your Switch. You need a Nintendo Switch Online membership in order to access this app though.

Does the all stars version have a physical copy I can buy anywhere?
They only released physical copies of that game for the SNES and the Wii to my knowledge

hmmm, super mario all stars doesn't seem to exist for the switch lite.
I really wish you didnt include anything from the online service to put on the list, as those arent Nintendo Switch exclusives, just more or less ROMS of older games. You could have easily put Paper Mario on here. And since Mario + Rabbids isnt a platformer either, also Kart Deluxe, i think you left out Mario Tennis Aces. Solid game on the Switch and one of the best online.

Do you think Crash Bandicoot is better? I'm a PS guy and never own a Mario game, i just thought Nintendo overly milked Mario by selling is nostalgia and overly put the characters in as much genre of games as possible to have new stuffs
I’m a huge retro PS guy and grew up with Crash alongside Mario and I do genuinely find Mario to be better. Crash is very linear and Mario can be too at times, but overall the Mario games are much more densely packed in

I thought Mario is way more linear because its just a pipe guy save a princess, Crash has more variation of characters from brutal to pure, like the evil sciencist and the half robotic guy who get shot to crash family. Mario characters i find too pure and not realistic enough to the real world, you can have mature Joke like the chapter title in the Crash Of The Titan games too. To be said, I do interested to get myself a Nintendo Switch after I saw the beautiful yellow color Nintendo Switch version of the SanDisk 256GB microSD card, I like Sci Fi story games, Nintendo seem crowded by Fantastic magic rpg and repeatitive Mario and Pokemon games which isn't my thing plus I thought Metroid isn't as deep as Dead Space and Metal Gear Solid, but since i always open myself to things i havent try or like, I guess now is the time to get myself into Nintendo world as the third party support is more opended on the Switch and my future is kinda uncertain as i wish to move aboard even i dont have the money now, so i not sure i will have a dedicated place for a home console again even i really want to own a ps5 to play Death Stranding, hopefully I will have the money soon to get a Switch after i have the money for a phone first haha, cheer man! :)

It’s comes as a part of the Nintendo Switch Online Service. It’s a subscription service somewhat similar to Netflix in the sense that you don’t own it but you can play the game, along with many others, for a monthly subscription price. Download the SNES app after purchasing a subscription and you will be able to play Super Mario All-Stars

Super Mario 3D World is the best and I haven't even got Odyssey but just by seeing it. Cappy doesn't hold up to everything you can do on Super 3D World
I respect your opinion, but personally, I think Odyssey is leagues better than 3D world because of the sandbox style rather than just going from point A to point B
Aldo, despite Loving more linear Mario games, I must admit Cappy gives Mario an endless plethora of skills and works as dozens of power ups. Odyssey is incredible.
