- In this video entitled, Ullswater Lake District, MY WORKFLOW, I capture a couple of decent images and talk you through my photography workflow.
Earlier this week, I ventured up to the Lake District Nation Park with no agenda whatsoever. It was merely a way of blowing off the cobwebs. I think it's great when you just head to a location with no plans. I just had a rough idea of where I was going.

FANCY GLENCOE Feb 7th (Mon) - 9th (Wed)?
I headed to Ullswater because I knew it was a lake I hadn't ventured further afield of the Duke of Portland Boathouse. The Portland boathouse is real eye-candy by the way but I have already captured lots of fabulous images from there.
Anyways, I thoroughly enjoyed the day and think I managed to capture a few half-decent images.

I really like how you explain your workflow/thought process. Good advice on fine tuning as well. Amazing how moving a little this way, a little that way, a bit higher or a bit lower can change and improve the composition. Lovely images. Oh and Happy New Year.

Happy new year....Oh no, when I saw that fence leading into the lake I thought here we go again, but no you done a jetty picture which I had not seen before pictured like that! It was good to hear exactly word for word how you set the shot up and then the finished picture, then we went on to more interesting pictures....Well done and well photographed, thank you for taking us with you again.

A great shoot Gary! The jetty shot where you moved along the bank worked beautifully and actually reinforces the ol’ golden ratio rule, as the hillside going down to the lake equaled the jetty protruding into the image.

Excellent video and images, Gary. That last image of the squirrel looked very clean for 10,000 ASA. Did it came out that clean from the camera or did you do some noise reduction in post?

G'Day from the land of Aust. Firstly, allow me to thank you for your informative videos. They have my photographic juices flowing once again after being shut down for so long. I do have a question regarding your tripod head though. I gather that it is a IFOOTAGE brand, going on the promo at the beginning of the video, but I can't seem to find the model when I look up their site. Am I completely off track and is it a completely different brand? .... Once again, thank you for getting me off my butt and back out into the world, with my camera, again.

Enjoyed that video but is that jetty not private? I'm sure that little building is a holiday home a bit like the Duke of Portland boat house. Just putting it on here just in case someone gets into bother.
little fellar at 10.000 ISO, while my photos looks like the snow on a old TV at 1600 ISO... hmmm... maybe the 50D is not the top of the line anymore, but neither is the fool behind it :)

Hi Gary! Well, it just goes to show that photography is all subjective and all relative, because personally, I didn't really like the first image. To me it didn't look natural. To me it looked like the jetty was from a completely different photograph. And I also found that I disagreed with you with regard to the second image too! I actually liked the way the background came to the centre of the image! It wouldn't do for us all to be the same though would it?
