This is a review of the Beavertail Final Attack layout boat. On my boat I have the blind cover and a PPF Mud Motor. After a season of use I have a few things to say about this boat.

We dont travel with the blind on. Carry it in a tote under seat then install at hunting spot. 4-5 mins set up. Room for feet is worst complaint for us. You can use your wooden seat for a back rest also. We use out boards where we hunt. You can remove the wheels but when we get that shallow we are generally at/near our spot and can walk it in from there. We put 4'x5' rubber door mat on floor so you're not laying in water or getting in out on icy surface. Under sides can fit 1 doz dekes and another doz up under front. Spud hole=geyser😅 plug it up with red bull can. We use pins on blind doors, just like your layouts.
Great honest review. Thank you. 18:05
Great honest review Josh! I take way to much stuff with me to have one. I use a Jetsled for walk-in hunts and my Jon boat for the big marsh. Plus I always have my dog with me. You will see this next season how fun that is and I see a boat in your future... Thanks for sharing.
All the guys that are like "buy a 14' jon boat" --- There couldn't be more of a difference from what hes trying to do with a "boat". Its a layout boat. To hide in. And shoot ducks. Have any of you ever tried to hide a 14' jon boat in a wetland? He wants a better layout option. I had been hunting with MOMarsh Invisimans, and love them, but they are a pain to carry out to the wetland, so I'm on to the Final Attack. It'll be easier to get in and out. I'll also use it like a sled. I'll still use the invisimans, but I can travel further with one of these.
Great video buddy! I am on season 3 with my PPF and have had zero REAL ISSUES. I run it on a 1236 Jon and can haul 100 decoys no problem. I am actually adding a momarsh fat boy this year for solo missions.
Great review man. I was leaning toward getting that setup. Looks like I’ll be doing some more research.
3 of us have the beavertail stealth 2000 with the PPF wood duck motor. We had to buy a motor mount from swamp rat's. We can fit over 4 dozen decoys and all of our other gear. It also comes with the lay out cover which we use all the time.
You can fit 4 dozen per person? Sick
I love mine killed a pile last season with it. Zip ties on the bars works well to keep them from sliding off but I do the same and roll the back of blind up cuz of the drag. Keep at it bud good stuff.
I appreciate the honest review. I torn on those or a jon boat. I have kayak I use now.
I highly recommend looking at County Line Boats based in Concordia, MO. Aluminum layouts well worth the price and many options available. County line boats have more room for gear and Kora, as well as great camo schemes!
I’m 6’1” and a slim 280. I fit fine and can move around ok. I can fit all my gear needed for a days hunt and strap 2 dozen decoys to the front. I’ve been down the Colorado River 5 miles a few times and with a 9hp merc. The cover is a pain in the ass but rolling it up works. Is it the best boat ever, no but it’s better and more stable than a kayak and better then nothing.
Forwarded this over the Jake with PPF. Awesome review of the PPF
Man, I guess I should be glad I saw this before I bought the PPF but I’m already into the setup and the boat based on your original review! I’m not using their blind, I built my own thing that isn’t as concealable but I think it will be a better long term option. Time will tell, anyway!
Great honest review
Would be interested in a comparison with your kayaks, pros/cons of each.
I'm pretty sure he has done that in a video about a year ago
I have the same motor and it is amazing.
Thanks for the review.
Jordan you should do a video on how you film for waterfowl. How you can enjoy the hunt while capturing quality video and other tips/tricks you've learned over the years.
Who's jordan?
Good review man
check out four rivers refuge runner layout boat, like you say you get what you pay for and that’s exactly right. they are made of fiber glass and hand made in missouri and worth every penny.
Is there a video on how you built the blind doors?
So how much does your setup weigh fully loaded to hunt?
Thanks for telling it like it is.
Would be sweet to see you running a 10' 12' jon boat! Can get some good blinds for them as well that fold up nice out of the way
Try a small Jon boat in the 10’-12’ range. For a guy and a dog that may be the best for you. I had a 1236 with a little outboard and it was just too slow for me but it could take 2 guys with gear and 4 dozen floaters. For that small of a boat you can load it in the back of your truck, that’s how I got mine around.
Why did you have to switch around the motor mount? Was the prop not getting deep enough in the water. I have the same set up and just mounted it up how the instructions tell you to do it, but haven't had it on the water yet.
Couldn’t get the prop all the way out of the water
Did this help with the rubbing issue by the head rest at all? Also I’m concerned about the wheels and shallow water, have you tried running in shallow water with them off?
Have you been in this with Kora?
Get you a small Jon boat and put that motor on it. I found a used 14' flat bottom boat and bought the mud skipper twister with the predator motor and I love it.
Since you got the puppy and putting in all that work to train her I think it’s time to upgrade to a Jon boat.
He got one in his new video
Yea he has one
Did you consider the stealth 1200 or 2000 before you got that boat. Just purchased a 1200 a few months ago and can’t wait to get it on the lake a hunt with it.
How do you like your 1200 so far?
@@brentbusick2245 I have only had it out a couple times fishing but so far it is really nice. Super stable to.
@@Bagndux88 I’ve been looking at one too
@@brentbusick2245 I bought it from bass pro shops. They say free shipping but they charge if remember right 100 for freight fee. And it ships directly from the factory. If you buy it from beavertail they charge 300 for shipping.
@@Bagndux88 yeah I was looking at them on Cabelas. It’s $95 freight.
I love the boat, but I'm a little concerned the alligators would use the angled front for a ramp.
What’s some good ear pro for less than 200
I use the walkers silencer rechargeable. Dont pay for extra for the bluetooth but i wouldn't get the battery replacement model. I love mine and use them for skeet, range days and hunting. Only bad thing ive found is if you dont keep them warm before putting them in, the foam gets hard and takes a second to adjust to fit your ear.
Drblood67 thank you the batteries don’t bother me cause I have to by batteries for my hearing aid anyhow
Momarsh Fatboy in your future? Need a co-host for your podcast? Lol
if you've got no natural cover around all ducks will flare from this thing been there done that
na... its a good boat you just expected to much.. its legit a lay down boat.... for ponds.. for electric motors aka trolling motor.. i have a 120 acre pond all day i chill in it
I understand the concept behind the design but it doesn’t seem practical in my opinion. A 14’ jon boat sounds like a better option plus you can run those boats in a few inches of water with the right motor.
Don’t like this video and leave it at 69 likes
Now I know I'm going to sound like a pretentious asshole but it's just a pet peeve of mine. But the motor vs engine thing kills me. An engine creates power via gas or diesel ect through combustion and a motor converts power, ie electricity to motion
Everyone calls them mud motors 😂
