Thank you so much me and my 14 year old niece followed your video and saved me some money taking it to a mechanic.
Great to hear!! That’s awesome, good for her! I appreciate the comment
These cars make incredible daily drivers. Thank you for sharing the helpful information I already did this once. Today the light came back on ✊
Easy to follow, very explanatory but not overdone. Awesome video!
Thank you I appreciate the comment!!!
My hose broke in half thank you for this video
🙏🙏🙏
Man my lights been on for a few months and it's the evap I'm about to go try this also the valve is cheap. This is a good video. Can't start the car with the remote when a check engine light is on lol
Lol i hear that man! Good luck 🤞
Good stuff 🔧
Appreciate it!
Life saver thanks 🙏
Thanks for the comment!
OK already did all this replaced the valve. but the ligth still shows up from time to time... any ideas what else could it be? did check the hoses and the wiring! all seems to be ok.
@2:50 vapor canister & vapor canister vent valve. There good for failing on these GM’s as well
Really great video did every single step. Check engine light is off drove it 200 miles and still no light on.
But when i went to get a smog check it and it failed due to a permanent code P0442 EVAP small leak?
I just got a new gas cap so I'm hoping that will clear the permanent code.
Did you initially have just a P0442 or P0496, or both?
@@TheOriginalBeeCeei originally just had P0496 and changed the purge valve
Could possibly be the canister in addition. It seems the P0442 is usually more associated with the canister, whereas the P0496 is more associated with the P0442. Weird you wouldn’t be getting a current CEL for it though.
Thank you
🙏🙏
Question my 10 mm bolt broke will that effect start up!
It would probably start if its popped in correctly, but I wouldn’t run it regularly without having something holding it in
This problem affects the car after pumping gas ?? My car stutters to turn on after pumping and giving it a few tries..
I’ve personally never come across a fueling issue associated with this code/part. Kind of sounds fuel pump/fuel regulation related
Will this cause the catalyst monitors to not be ready at smog check ?
If you have an active CEL OBD Code, most definitely!
@@TheOriginalBeeCee cel is off. Just a stored code.
Its the stored code. Still a OBD code that would prevent them from being “ready”. Might have to drive it some more, or re-troubleshoot the stored code.
how much was that part?
