    Hello! I just found your channel and subscribed. I would never have had the nerve to do what you did. God bless you two. 🙏🙏🙏 Are you going to do a good insulation job making it a four season RV? What are your plans for it after it is completed? I can't wait to see the rest of the rebuild and what you do to it. 🙂

      Hi! Thank you for following along on our journey it's great to have you here. It was a bit daunting at first but now we feel like we're in a good spot. We are using rigid foam 'Foamular'. We will do the best we can, not sure how 4 season it will be though. Once it is completed we will adventure around the country as much as possible.

    When you install the windows, doors and everything else, use the super sticky black butyl tape instead of the grey putty tape. The black never dries out like the grey will. The black stuff is what was used on car windshields before the companies switched to urethane adhesive that's stiffer and makes the windshield and other glued in glass a structural element to add stiffness.
    The black tape costs more and is a pain to trim and clean what's excess or squeezes out, but having it stay sealed forever is worth it.
    I use baby oil to coat a knife blade when trimming it, and apply painters tape to the surface around the vents, door, etc. That way the excess can be cut free then peeled away with the tape.

    • @JoeandEmmaLee
      @JoeandEmmaLee  Před 7 měsíci

      We had no idea there was a black tape version, we will certainly look into it. Thanks for the tips! We also need to reseal the window glass to the window frame as some pieces are lifting up.

    If no herbicides or pesticides were used, why use either baking soda or vinegar? Baking soda breaks down pesticides on it's own, though the produce may need to soak for 15 minutes in the solution to remove all of them.
    Vinegar just makes the solution more neutral, possibly canceling the effects.
    If it's just for bugs and bacteria, a spray of vinegar, then a rinse works, or just soak in bleach water.

      Awesome!! Exactly how we felt, we were so in love with it that we knew we needed to keep it alive! A rough estimate of what we spent for materials to rebuild is about 2500/3000$ it will cost more if you upgrade all your appliances, electrical system and what not. But for just the structure, it’s pretty reasonable.
