That was so amazing. The music while swinging with those damn swirling pigeons got me choked up.
Yeah that made me cry more than anything else in the game sadly. Also the part where the old man was talking about his wife. The game doesn’t have much in that department compared to the first or second game. I got more choked up at seeing the vulture and shocker being dead more than the ending. I wish they killed Harry because it would make more sense and actually be heartbreaking.

Spider-Man 2 is giving me the feeling I got when I once played Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. It’s like a high budget Hollywood film that you’re in control of. It’s just incredible! The cinematics are mind blowing and it really makes me feel like I’m these characters that I’m controlling and I actually care about what happens to them.

it made me feel so swaggelishless. It’s the only time I’ve felt black in my life. It was nice to finish the game & go back to being white though. Those 15 hours were worth price of admission
Those are the exact reasons why I don't like the first one. That trend of cinematic games is just not for me, I want games to feel like games and not movies. That being said, this game does look gorgeous and fun still

I really loved how they handle the black suit and all it's ups and downs. Kraven was a perfect choice, because he literally wares Miles and Pete down to the point of them breaking and having to face their own personal demons. After finishing the Mysterium Quests, it even gave me one of my favorites lines of the game through Quintin.

I just like that you see multiple villains actively working to better themselves. The no killing rule gets harder to justify when the villains never get better.

Games dont have to be frustratingly difficult to be enjoyable and fun. Im glad this one is easier to complete than the others.
The combat is a lot more brutal though and cohesive. Almost like they took a bit of dark souls and added a pinch of it to an action adventure game. It’s absolutely incredible

This game and story was so enthralling I didn’t even want to change their costumes. I was totally captivated by what they created.
That’s pretty cool man! I couldn’t get my itch unless I changed them on the side missions and camera shots. But in the final stretch on the game, I couldn’t change it. Now that mikes original suit…ahem
@@flashergoldpower15I don’t think the design is as bad as everyone says. My main issue is the sneakers. The feet should be like most suits where it’s a part of the suit. The light blue parts of the suit might be a bit much and, but the idea makes sense to me with his evolved venom lightning powers. You could make arguments about the hood or the exposed hair, but I think that’s more personal preference. The mask has this all black dotted look and that I think should just be the normal web design. Overall it’s not bad, but I think they went a bit too far with the changes.

Just started it, and the way the combat just clicked back into place after months past Miles Morales is so damn satisfying.

Man I love this game it took me 32hrs to platinum. I can not wait for ng+ and what they’ll do with the next installment of miles morales 2 or spiderman 3.
I loved completing Spider-Man 2 just like the first one. Once I started getting the trophies I couldn’t stop my wall crawling adventure
I have a voice acting background and have to say that Yuri Lowenthal's performance has been such an inspiration for me since the Prince of Persia games. The vocal training was really tough, sometimes without noticeable results for months but actors like him and the late Kevin Conroy are a great impulse to not give up. You almost saw me as Leon in those new RE games :)

the 20 enemies in 1 minute challenge was easily the most difficult part of the game for me going for my platinum over the weekend, but thankfully, still paled in comparison to those janky as hell drone chase sequences in the first game lol
Once Miles is fully upgraded it becomes way easier. Venom Burst, then three finishers, then the Venom attacks, and by the end of all of that you probably only have to take out one or two more guys to rinse and repeat. Spam the gadgets in between them and you’re damn near invincible as Miles
I just finished the main story and WOW. It was so good, and frustrating at times. But still fun at the same time! This might be the first game I will platinum in a long while. I rarely platinum games. Once the credits roll. That is a complete game to me. And I rarely get to the credits in most games. 😅 love the content as always!
I loved Bully lowenthal and i hoped that he would be a little bit more in the game TBH, but overall He was FIRE and i don't know if I can forget this line from him to the lizard "no wonder your family left you" 💀💀💀💀

Loved this review, it’s nice to see someone not lightly complain about a SEQUEL feeling somewhat safe with some improvements really annoying when I’ve watched other reviews n they complain about that, like yeah it’s a sequel not a new IP it’s gonna feel somewhat similar especially if the 1st game was already great. Its a testament to the length of Spiderman 2 that The Completionist can complete the game before it launches.
This game is so good. The animation is beautiful, the controls are smooth, and the voice acting is all so good. I just wish I could play the ps5 version.

This game was literally MADE for the PS5. Sure it'll release on Steam in a year or two but the best most optimized way to play this (and any Sony exclusive) is on a PS5. The Completionist wasn't exaggerating when he said the PS5 controller's haptic feedback is super immersive and cool feeling. You won't get that using a mouse and keyboard.
We sure as hell aint playing the same game. This shit has more bugs then the first 2 combined, can't believe I wasted time and money on this shit game

They absolutely nailed it, so excited for Wolverine, and whatever else Spider-Man related they bring out! So much teased by the end of the game too. Spiderman 2 gave me the feeling I had when I was chasing Venom way back in Spiderman PS1
I think it's very funny looking through Jirard's footage how often he was using the exact same suit and sometimes the same pattern on the suit, as I did for particular story beats.
Shout out to the red and gold version of the Saving Lives suit, really liked that pattern

OFC MJ literally one shots venom's Minions like a super power james bond while both miles and peter required multiple combo punch and abilities is masterpiece and totally believable.

A: She doesn't one shot them, she takes multiple shots to defeat them, and it's more shots than miles or peter needs to just use their sonic bursts on those enemies (2 from Miles/peter, 3 or 4 from MJ)
B: They were doing a survival horror section, she needed to have some way to take them down. She can't even 1 shot them like she can with the other enemies in the game, even if you seem to be committed to lying about that

only to realize (almost at the end of my 30 hour platinum play through) that the thing I needed to upgrade to gain the extra focus bars was one of the things I saved for last.

I felt like this game not only gave us a gaming,experience but a narrative driven, cinematic one that no Sony ,or marvel film can come close it makes us feel part of the story and not just sitting back watching or readings,this game has truly set the new standard for super hero videos games going foward
They couldn't create a trilogy to equal the presence that Insomniac has created, it's incredibly Spider-Man and also conceptually unique with how they have placed the characters on the timeline. Rather than peter being old and jaded, he's vibrant and a young man still figuring it all out, at the same time as trying to be a mentor. That's essentially the short form of what MCU did with RDJ and Holland Spidey, but it flows better here and doesn't feel forced like how RDJ was in Homecoming, basically bullying Peter and blackmailing him into being a bigger hero than he was ready for. By the end here, Miles comes to where Holland should have naturally and believes he's incredibly capable of being Spider-Man cus he's had a prominent figure to lead him down this path and show him his full capabilities and now he's prepared to be apart of even bigger teams, if Miles were to join the Avengers or Fantastic 4. This is the best setup and execution that any Spider-Man could have outside of Spider-verse.

I didn't want to go to the next mission cause i knew destruction would follow pete.
And i think that's what they were trying to accomplish.
Make you realize being OP comes at a cost, it really makes you feel like your a voice in peters head telling him "stop this rampage"
Like when i got it, i dont know if this is intentional, but the controller vibrations were heavy when you first get the suit, but it feels like the vibrations get weaker as u play as him, maybe signifying that he's losing the adrenaline from all that power and now he's craving more, hence the next phase...
When venom starts to fight for control so he can provide pete with more of that feeling

from the moment the game finished downloading I knew I had to complete it and when I saw how much they streamlined the process this time, it was like it was designed to be completed
I think as a whole with the Marvel Universe the quote “With great power comes great consequence” is the staple for Marvel. ❤
Its a weird thing but i think picking up the spiderbots was one of my varourite side quests because i didnt have to drop everything to do them. I dont mean that i dint like all the other side content. I really did. But with the spiderbots specifically the flow was you saw a pulse and for the most part, angle a couple of degrees away from your actual destination, swing towards the bot, pass by it grabbing it with a webline and continue one without breaking momentum. Sure it was a bit more complext for some of them particulary the ones in mid air but for the rest of them, i really like that idea of just grabbing them.
I loved 100% completing this game so much that as soon as I was done I went back in and started a new save so I could do it again.
This was my second PS game that I got a platinum on, and it was such an amazing time
I love this game but I do have some pet peeves
-No repayable missions/bases. It was in the Miles Morales solo game so it's non inclusion is a step back.
-No more podcast archives. I loved replaying the funniest ones in the first two games.
-You can't freely swap between characters in most missions like GTA 5. I could understand some scripted plot events but there should've been times we could choose our Spidey.
-In free roam the other Spider-Man stops existing aside from the rare encounter, dashing my hopes for hangout activities.
-Some activities only being for one Spider-Man. I can understand specific side-missions but Peter should be able to participate in those illusion challenges.
-They removed the years from the Spider-Men's relatives graves. I don't know why but that annoys me. It's just a weird retcon.
-The lack of time and weather options upon completion is disappointing, especially since they were in the remaster and Miles game.

Every open world game does. None of them affect playability in my experience. They set me back maybe ten seconds, especially with how fast the game loads and how often it autosaves.
If you loved this one, you should do a video on the different versions of Spider-Man Web of Shadows. It has a whole lot of the same story going on, and I don't recall it having difficult completion requirements on any system.
DLC - Christmas in New York : Snow cover, Snow fall, Lights, Trees, Decorations! They've already done a lot of the hard work for the Morales game, just add more. Doesn't even need to have a storyline, just an option to toggle it on/ off.
I have to assume the 42 trophies and 42 Spider-bots were small references to Spider-Verse since 42 is a big Arc Number in those movies.

its one of the few games i will go out of my way to do the sidequests to completion. 100% completed the first spiderman game cant wait to do it for this one.
I think one of the things that really made me stop and stair was walking through the mysterium portals with no problem. No stop and wait for area to load just walk through portal and bam new area. The only thing I don't like is that once you've completed everything you can't redo it without stating over. No refight enemy base or anything like that.

And I look forward to DLC which I expect will come sooner rather than later. I wouldn’t even be shocked if it ends up being MM game length instead of a 3 parter with 3 separate but related stories. I love that it was realistic aggression too. Like I believe a 15 year old that almost got killed trying to do the right thing would be mad and punch a wall. It’s not abnormal. It’s small enough to make me believe he’s capable of being angry and at the same time not contradict the level headedness he’s had over the last 2 games.
I'm absolutely loving this game

I waited to watch this after completing the game, and I was not disappointed.
I had gotten the platinum in a similar amount of time. I too am one who is happy with the length but really wish it was just a touch longer. I’m on my second playthrough on ultimate difficulty looking for all the things I may have missed first go around
Just wanted to say that this video inspired me to go for the platinum. I did it super casually and beat your time by 1 hour!
MJ has strong hidden potential and soon both, Miles and Peter will become obsolete because MJ takes care of everything with ease.

I really liked this game.
Unfortunately by the end I did have a few more nitpicks than I would like and felt a bit unsatisfied with a couple things.
But overall a great game and worthy sequel that I greatly enjoyed. Even if it didn't quite be all it could have been and didn't quite raise the bar high enough as a sequel to avoid nitpicks, I loved it.
While I really really liked the spidey games, I would never call them masterclasses in game design. They had a whole bunch of flaws and generic gameplay elements and judging from what I’m seen, spidey 2 is a lot more spidey. While that is never a bad thing, it isn’t something absolutely incredible or genre defining either. What I would label spidey 2 as is a technical masterpiece that masterfully utilizes the power of ps5.
