When you're trying to align the cutter object, you can use Shift+Keypad to align your view to the selected object's local axis.

Hey is their an add on or modifier that will leave an indentations of an object? Similar to the bullion modifier except on a flat or hollow surface? Exampl: if I took a flat plane and put an object through it, it would make an indentation of that object on the outside and inside of the hollow or plane. Is their such modifier or add on? Hope this makes sense. Thanks for your time.
