  • Back in the nineteenth century, Charles Darwin promoted the supposed similarity between humans and chimpanzees. Later DNA studies seemed to support that idea-until someone started taking a closer look and noticed that there had been some...monkey business.
    In the first installment of this two-part episode, ICR geneticist Dr. Jeff Tomkins and host Trey Bowling discuss how chimp and human DNA are not as similar as many people think, and why it matters.

    From a spiritual perspective : all we need is to believe in our Creator.
    From a scientific perspective : all you need is to accept the principle of 'Irreducible Complexity'.
    Code, be it genetic/biological, (AGTC) or mathematical/binary ( i, e, 0-1), cannot write itself.
    The entire universe, (as we know it) is governed by code.
    Only an intelligent mind can create code; only the mind of God could create the existence we all share.
    Acceptance is a choice, choices have consequences. 🙏

The natural (materialistic) man has authority issues (Romans chapter 1) , and rarely mention the implications of their nihilistic attitudes and what they ultimately require-a meaningless and purposeless existence with no eternal hope. I personally welcome any new research into human evolution. Monkeys usually have 48 chromosomes we have only 46. I tend to believe Lloyd Pye's analysis of our history. Apes have been around for as long as we have yet there are fundamental differences between us. One major ability they lack is that they can't modulate, they can only hoot & scream but they can leap through tree's something even the strongest man can't do, but we have major artistic and philosophical abilities that are way ahead. I do not know how many base pairs humans have in one set of chromosomes, so I don’t know how many actual differences there are.

    • @vikingskuld
      @vikingskuld Před 3 měsíci +1

      I know this is an older comment and maybe you know by now. That would be nice to know what percentage of actual dna they really looked at. I know they could only check the aligned or similar dna that tends to be the protein coding genes. That's no where near all our dna. I did hear when they looked at the micro rna map of a human and tried to use that map to plot and map out the chimps micro RNA they had to stop. There was absolutely NO CORRELATION THEY SAID. ACCORDING TO them it was predicted that they could use our map to map chimps. Another failed predicted by them. PUT it to you this way if we were really 98% the same as chimps then we should be able to breed with them. We know we are that close to Neanderthals and could with them. Besides that a sick scientist in Russia tried it with chimps and guerrillas to make an army for Stalin. It didn't work. So no matter what's said they are not that close to humans.

    • @Bobbychildree
      @Bobbychildree Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@vikingskuld You are correct. I do not know how many base pairs are in a human chromosome, but I do know that the more data becomes available, the worse the case for evolution. Recently I was reading a Kindle book by Chuck Missler, What is Truth, the Case for Biblical Integrity, and was very impressed by the statistical probabilities of just a molecule of hemoglobin forming by chance. It was absurdly low. That goes for any of the thousands of proteins necessary for life. When I was in high school in the 1950’s I was taught only evolution. So I believed that God directed evolution, etc. But in college I realized that that story contradicted the Biblical account that God - the one witness that was present- gave Moses to write. I took courses in math, chemistry, physics, astronomy, geology - hard sciences. I took biology also and was surprised that it disagreed with established laws of science like entropy in physics and chemical laws in chemistry. Then in graduate school in a course in advanced biology I just had to cast my lot on the side of mathematics and proven laws of science. Evolution is impossible, not just unlikely. I challenged my professor when he “described” the evolution of the earth and the eye. He made unproven assumption after unproven assumption to supposedly prove evolution. When confronted with known laws that made his assumptions impossible, he had nowhere to go. I won the argument. At that point I gave up on the idea that God directed evolution. That’s impossible. God created… and that is possible, just like Genesis says.

At the very simplest form of life is a half billion pairs of DNA. People can't seem to understand that there is no possible way that could ever form in nature. Then when I try to explain to them they don't have millions of years for it to occur as the very substances needed for life also destroy dna. Now for a substantive comment. The similarities game (played by evolutionists) is understandable, but seems to contain left-overs of the Darwinian gross-morphology fantasy. Clearly the microbiological matters are of deep interest, but the DGMF needs itself to be criticized. It isolates features of the organism but seems to fail to deal with it as a system. Most parts of organisms, particularly the more complex organisms are part of complex interacting systems and are not isolated features. The eye is a great example of the several major body systems that have to parsimoniously interact to enable sight. Moreover, the core visual function is a 'software' type function, but DGMF seems oblivious to the neurological control, interpretation and communication systems that need to weave all the systems together to enable a functioning visual system. Similarly for other sets of systems.

The fantasy sold because it made loads of money for scientists in the form of research grants- their bread and butter. Evolutionists perse don't care about whether humans and bonobos are closely related or not. Darwin never said humans were related to them and he could never know. But what he did say was, that all species present today could trace the heritage back in time to a common ancestor with another extant species. That there appeared to be a functional place for each species within an environmental niche that arose from progression from one life form to another.
    What we can say in modern times having studied the genomes of 100's of life forms since the 1990's that some species of life are closely related to each other, that some species group together into a genus and a family because of these genetic similarities. It just so happens that of he extant species of animal on the planet now, bonboes and humans are the most closely related. And that their is more genetic diversity in one troupe of chimps than there is in the whole human race. But genetically we are still closely related to chimps. That's a fact borne out by genetic similarities.

      @kevinhank17 Před 3 měsíci

      @@alantasman8273 sure, your understanding is flawed in the sense that you seem to believe the species in question appeared out of nowhere fully formed and ready to go at the same time. The study says they originated between 100,000 to 200,000 years ago. It also says nothing about miraculous creation, it's well known new species come from old species, this is just confirmation that evolution is always in progress as most species change all the time. Like humans for example, we are one of the species who "appeared", however we also have ancestor species that died out or changed previous to that time. One of them changed into us and we "appeared". All the species that "appeared" are the descendants of the species they were before evolution changed them significantly enough to classify as a new species. The ten percent of species that have older origins are most certainly occupying niches they are well adapted to that encounter few changes in environmental conditions, hence they don't have pressure to adapt because they are already adapted well enough. Take horses as another example, they are probably one of the species that appeared yet we have remains of the species they used to be. Same with whales, same with a lot of things.
      Fyi, if you are going to hold up a scientific study and say it supports your mythology then you are accepting the validity of the scientific method, which means you must accept the validity of everything else that you disagree with. Otherwise you're arguing in bad faith, it's like taking part of scripture that you can twist to support something bad and ignoring other scripture that clearly says the opposite. If scripture is correct then all of it is, not just the parts you like. Same with science.
      Also what about all the long dead species that were extinct millions of years before we came about, did god just create the corpses of millions of species to trick us or something?

    This podcast misses a critical point about the theory of evolution. The Darwinian's definition of evolution is that over time, organisms advance to a higher state. However there is no mechanism whereby this process can occur. The issue of time is a dead letter because time is of no consequence. All organisms are coded with genetic information at inception and there is no mechanism whereby any can be added later, much less the huge amounts of genes required to advance an animal to a higher form. Time is not an issue because the sequences are not in the organism nor is there anyway for them to be acquired regardless of time. The issue of time is merely another canard similar to “biological adaptation” or “natural selection” which are merely the expression of genes already within the organism and have nothing to do with so called evolution.

It would be a good idea to not say it. Many times it is as if he might as well be saying "like" or "uh", it is filler. Just a suggestion. Awesome, also should only be used for God. He is the only One who is Awesome.

      Human Genome size: 3,117,275,501 base pairs (bp), so 15% is 465 million base pairs of difference that would need to change by mutation without introducing dangerous stop codons, terminal diseases ( that most dna mutations cause) and precisely create a functioning biology (you can half that by assuming a common ancestor). These random mutations would give us feet, symbolic language centres and enhanced reasoning along with numerous other changes. Experiments have never succeeded in more than 2 mutations giving a novel functioning genetic change, so I’m not very convinced by the theory.

    • @a2sbestos768
      @a2sbestos768 Před 8 měsíci

      @@jamesmaybury7452Most of these base pair mutations are irrelevant. There is ~500 million base pairs variation *just within humans*. Men and women differ by ~100 million base pairs (X and Y chromosomes). Also 98% of 3 billion pairs don't code for proteins, so no "dangerous stop codons" possible there. And even then, terminal disease is quickly selected out from population.
      "Experiments have never succeeded in more than 2 mutations giving a novel functioning genetic change, so I’m not very convinced by the theory."
      I fail to see your point. Do all 465 million mutations have to occur within one event or something? That is not the case.

    • @jamesmaybury7452
      @jamesmaybury7452 Před 8 měsíci

      @@a2sbestos768 the ‘encode’ project demonstrated that more than 80% of DNA is used and from a reverse engineering view, not surprising. The parts which don’t code for proteins control their expression and more. Most of this is still well beyond our understanding but any program will degrade with errors and logically in similar, if not more sensitive ways, in the control system than in the protein coding regions. Look at the charts of diseases on the chromosomes and the prevalence of diseases over time in populations. Some diseases may kill the person before they have children but the increase in genetic diseases and their prevalence is much greater than this filtering effect.
      The experiments ( by lenskie if I remember correctly) show thousands of generations and mutations and agree with the mathematical models that, since harmful mutations outweigh any possible advantageous mutations, there is a flow or slope towards degradation, as we see in humans over time which limits the size of any up hill ‘evolutionary progress’. If you can’t find an advantage and ‘select’ for it within a couple of mutations then the downhill flow will overwhelm it anyway. Even the simplest changes in proteins are in the hundreds to thousands of changes to ‘create a new function’ for a folded up protein.
