Some folks have mentioned that the passthrough recording quality looks better than it actually is. I will say that both headsets are dependent on good lighting and both will get grainy in low light conditions. This is more noticeable on the Quest 3 due to the lower pixel density.
none of them have a real life quality like camera,
avp have a realy normal quality that u can find in for example a iphone

COMPLETELY MISSED the social aspect !!! In Apple Vision Pro you are ALONE but Quest 3 is very SOCIAL place for playing games, watching movies or just hanging out with friends !!!
If the Apple Vision Pro was around $1,500 I might of considered getting it for I do ❤ my Ipad Pro. But, for $3,500+ I would rather build a Powerful Gaming PC with a RTX4090. Which is also, overpriced. So, I will just be content with my Quest 3 and PSVR2. 😉👌
So I made the right decision to build an i9/4090 AND grab an m3 max ?? Figured I’d get more mileage out of those than a VP. granted it cost double the price….
And I have PSVR2😂… which I haven’t touched in 6 months
@deesteez4329 I go back and play Gran Turismo and Some Resident Evil Village and Remake from time to time. I haven't beaten any of em yet. Just work too much and when I am off. I am too tired to play. Sucks getting old.

@deesteez4329 Yeah, you definitely have to get your VR legs. It takes some getting use too. I spent 16 hours in VR the first time I ever tried it. Was so excited and blown away on how cool it was. When I finally did remove the headset. Which was an HTC Vive. I was Feeling like I was Drunk and Sick. The dam room was spinning. 😫 🥴 but, Now I am Good! No More Motion Sickness for me. 😉👌

Whats crazy is the apple 2yr warranty cost about same as a new Quest 3
He never did mention that the AVP is 8x the cost of the quest 3

apple made a big mistake of not adding support for big screen app or creating an alternative apple app. they have apple tv and all the movies you can watch with others
I’m sorry but no, the APV does NOT feel like just a pair of ski goggles when it comes to pass though, it also does NOT look to the user as good as it looks on the recordings of it. Never tried a Quest 3, but do have the Vision Pro if you buy a AVP thinking pass though will look like it does on these videos you will absolutely be disappointed. It’s good, but not as good as the videos make it look

Pretty sure they’re talking about pass through be so clear because everything else on the market has horrible pass through. The fact you can walk around a city and skateboard with the AVP tells me it’s on another level. Quest 3 I don’t even want to walk around my house
@kennethwilliams9668, because the people who are buying the Vision Pro don't exactly all know that there are other headsets that have more field of view. They simply assume that just because Apple made a product that it is superior to other products, which is not the case. You can say some of the aspects may be superior but saying the whole product is dumbfounded. The Apple Vision Pro is already heavier than the meta quest and the battery is strapped with you with a cord that goes in your pocket. Meta Quest already has a battery within it and it's still less heavier than the AVP. Also, the fact that the headset shuts off when you need to switch the battery or to charge the battery at all makes it outrageously redundant.
But that is merely only one point.

It's funny the 1st week everyone was saying how great the productivity was until they all realized the Q3 does same exact stuff but better so now all thats left to boast about is the slightly better pass-through to justify the 3500 dollar price tag except they can't mention FOV due to it being smaller then headsets FOV from 5 years ago lol hard pill to swallow for alot of people but apple dropped the ball big time

How many times have you hit your face off a wall or object while using VR, now answer for when using passthrough?
Both the quest 3 and apple vision pro have 12 milliseconds passthrough latency.
You can read a phone on quest 3 easily
I would imagine the ultimate goal is not really vr but ar. Something more like regular glasses that can give us a visual hud of the things that we use daily: calls, text, gps, notes, and other productivity and media uses.

The Vision Pro is really great but for me personally I'm finding very little practical use. If the battery could go all day (or at least 6 hours) I might consider it for work.
About the passthrough in quest 3, for me some times it gets granny in low light places and sometimes it gets really clean and easy to read in my phone or my pc, i don't know, maybe is a software problem.
It’s all about the lighting in the room the iso is why it’s granny in low lighting this may be fixed in later updates it’s really about the cameras
No update can fix physic. Even some DSLR with big lens have problems in low light.
at 3:13 where you're looking at the laptop. I can't tell if this is for just the video or if your passthrough quality is actually good enough to read that text. On my two quest 3s I could not at all read that from there. The quality is far too low.
I can sort of read it with the Quest 3, but definitely harder than with the Vision Pro.
The video playback of Pass-through is way cleaner looking than what it looks like in the headset
Apple doesn’t want VR. They want AR, but they can’t build a device for that right now. So instead they built a VR headset and then threw out everything that makes VR compelling (experiencing other worlds through games).

I use my passthrough to read texts and I can use my phone and computer typing with no issues, I have heard some quest 3 passthrough isn't the same on all units
me too, i can read my mails with no problems, but some times it gets to granny and some times really clean.
Good review. Honestly Apple will not get developers too with that ecosystem and price. Meta quest 3 is much more reasonable choice. Only thing it is a bit worse is passthrough but it is not a deal breaker.

The graininess is usually a result of low light. Better room lighting (like a big window) can improve the passthrough clarity a lot.
I bought the AVP last weekend right after experiencing the demo, it’s over-engineered but I’m really digging what it’s capable of. I’m on the fence about returning it due to the price, living with it this past week has been amazing. It’s easy to wear but can sometimes be uncomfortable for long periods. I’ve watched the Super Bowl while using the moon surface as a background. I’ve downloaded the Disney app and there’s some really cool immersive backgrounds like The Avengers’ tower and other supporting environments. I haven’t worn it in public yet but have been hanging out in the backyard with it!
Grab a Quest 3 it will blow your mind when you realize just how much more it does then the AVP

This was great, going to go with the Meta Quest. Even if the Vision Pro came with a teleportation machine it doesn't justify the price. Shame as I have an entire Apple ecosystem
The pixels in the apple VR are the size of red blood cells. There are many things about the apple that is higher spec, even just the M2 chip is way stronger.
It better be for 7 times the price!

Honestly with all the hype if it was only $1k I would have bought it and it would have been my 1st apple product. All that hype made me do some research on VR and ended up getting quest3 and I'm so impressed. Easley best tech equipment I have bought in 15 years
I have the quest 3 , the quality image is really not sharp and the passtrough is crap
The simple fact that the quest 3 doesn't have a battery that u have to carry around is enough to declare it a winner.

Meta allready confirmed that there never will be a quest pro 2. So the next Headset will be the quest 4. But i think after that time apple will also have a more budget frindly VR Headset on the market.

AVP is the VR version of macbook and it is the best in its category, because has no competition.. No company is making VR PCs yet..
Quest3 is one of the best VR gaming headset/consoles on the market right now..

Badly, very badly, and yo7 have to sideload an application to do it..... which is an absolute pain to do on any apple device and could brick it

1st gen Apple Vision pro is public beta (cash to blow) (also gets people used to seeing this type device used by people in public) & a developer device to further the tech & software figuring out new use cases to prepare for future hardware generations that will get smaller lighter more user friendly & cheaper for mass market adoption, Apple in the game will help speed up the progression of this tech, waiting to see this tech combined with ai over next few years
You mentioned the quest having games and link to pc but didn’t cover much on the few apps the Vision Pro has. Are they in different markets the quest being in the gaming market even tho you can use it like the Vision Pro and the Vision Pro being in a different market with it mainly focused on watching and tasking

Really you don't notice the blurring on the pass though on AVP, it means if you move your head everything smears, making reading phones or monitors next to impossible unless one holds very very still. IMO pass through on both headsets is pretty unusable for anything beyond basic navigating around the house. IMO you are over selling the quest 3 pass through as the videos don't capture the in optics noise - which is terrible even in 200+ lux environments.
Yeah I mean he made it look like he was reading his laptop. There quality is FAR to low to read the laptop from that distance and the text being that small.

The weight on the front has been noted by various reviewers, but the majority have noted that the weight is due to it not being fitted correctly. Where the front face interface can be the incorrect size and you may be more suited to using the dual loop band.

I think adjusted the headset on the Vision Pro was easier but I think the quest three is more comfortable. I find the front of my face around my nose starts to hurt after 20 or 30 minutes on the Vision Pro and I don’t get the same with the quest, three or the quest two or the quest pro. I also can’t find much to do on the Vision Pro. I basically downloaded everything and bought all the apps like Disney+. Hopefully it grows as time goes. I just hope the second version doesn’t come out too quick and then the first version becomes useless. And mark my words Version two will come with controllers and they will get rid of the glass in the front. That’s basically useless anyway and probably cost the consumer a grand. I’m trying to find things to do with the Vision Pro. A few games from Apple Arcade are really crappy considering the quest three has Resident Evil 4 red matter two and so many others and yes, I know I’m gonna get 1000 people say it’s not meant for gaming, but take away gaming from VR and VR collapses, the five or 10% if even that who would use it for work and not sustain any VR glass, never mind Vision Pro at the price they charge it needs to be versatile like the quest. And I also only find Vision Pro a little bit clearer than quest three not much. I’m going to see him in a little bit. Like you said in your video, there’s not much to do with it. I’m hoping something comes out because I didn’t buy this to watch movies. I bought it because I like new tech but I have to say I’m a little disappointed in what’s available at the moment, hopefully something great comes out before these become useless, and version two comes out. Like I said before I believe version two will come with controllers, and they will get rid of the glass screen in the front where you could barely see your eyes anyway, that almost seem to be something for them to show off on their first set, but I believe they’ll get rid of that lower the price And come with controllers and hopefully games, Resident Evil 4, and games of that caliber come to the vision, pro and a lot more videos. Specially the immersive ones not that I would buy Vision Pro just for immersive videos but it’s a nice bonus. I’ve only found a few so far not including at four minute dinosaur video that’s very cool but it’s only four minutes long, it was like a tease. They should have a lot more than that four minute video but who knows I like technology so I bought them but I think the average person may be a little disappointed. I would definitely say go with the quest three not the quest two it’s worth the extra few bucks Definitely get the quest 3. Just my friendly opinion.
for me the only improvement that cares is the 2.5 times better screen,
lets be real as vr user the screen is the only really meaningfull diference
eye tracking, massive multitasking and ecosystem, vr gaming aside both can do everything else the same in a user pov
avp has quality and expensive components, so it can do better the same things that shares with quest ofc,
but at least for now it do less that the quest 3, mostly a media visor, and the ar-vr in avp is mostly "experiences" most of things are more visually than interactive, comparing to quest 3

for now, mostly for the game aproach, i took quest over the avp, that may change if ivry or virtual desktop brings pc-vr to the vision pro
but that just if they solve the controller problem somehow
i using mostly pc-vr to play with my pc hardware so the m2, r1 chipset is something that i dont really care if i will only use it standalone to watch youtube
*vr/ar situation:*
if u think u can use a vr/ar headset for work u will be vry dissapointed when u buy it, even for navigate on browser is worse that doing it on your pc/phone
The only real new thing that vr/ar headset can bring to your life is a 3D media player or like giant screens and not only environments, but VR worlds where you can interact and move, do social things, exercises, games, etc.

both shares the same desings so share the same problems:
its heavy almost 1kg for wear for hours in your head, give eye pain, leave a mark in your face, make you looks ridiculous, you're too lazy to put them on, u sweat and make it gross, the glasses fog up all the time, If you have long hair you will had problems with it, the visor moves for anything and misadjusts all the time making it looks blurry bc the sweet point is in the middle of the lenses, most of times u will prefer your pc or phone to do what u wanted to do in the visor
so think well if u need it or not

i think apple promotes vision pro like an headset to wear 24/7 and replace all your media in your daily life, for me this aproach is truly dystopian,
but it wont work like that bc we aren't in that quality/confort tech yet, u will never can use it for 8h daily to do stressing work,
meta after zuckerberg resignation of being a work scope device and surrender to the gaming demand that he hate, i think it just promote quest like a vr console - ar device to enjoy minigames, social/fitness and things like that

It's glass covered with plastic. Glass is much harder and less prone to scratching but by putting plastic on top that advantage disappears. It's like using a plastic screen protector on your phone; it protects the glass but scratches way easier. And since you can't replace this plastic layer (you need to completely replace the front) they might as well have made it all plastic.

The quest is a paperweight. I can enjoy the apple vision pro. My wife was banned from facebook because vietnamese hackers got her blocked for life. The quest is useless to her.
Not having to worry about your headset becoming a paperweight because of Meta's poor policies and security, is incredibly valuable. At this point, a phone in a cardboard vr headset is better than a quest.
Quest is already better than Apple Vision, it offers games, computer and more.
remember that Quest 3 will always be updated in the future

Lets remember that the AVP, is fresh out and will get many software updates, which the quest has had 3 iterations to get right.. AVP is better that quest 3 after 3 hardware updates, just think were AVP will after 3 updates..The price is personal, is it to much or not only you and your finances can define that.
