  • Thanks to the staff and volunteers of the Severn Valley Railway we get a normally off limits to the general public visit to one of the two signal boxes that control Bewdley Station, with a rich difference of signalling including absolute block and Token systems and some bidirectional control through the small station area.
We also get a short look at the South end of the station controlled by the other Signalbox (Bewdley South) which we’l visit another time.

I've always been fascinated by the old mechanical signal box. It's a work of art no matter what railway company.ive been.inside the box at bishop's leadiyard I was mist impressed. I've also been inside one of the few remaining mechanical signal systems boxes in new Zealand. At the ferrymead heritage park down here in christchurch. Brilliant.
