- Thanks to the staff and volunteers of the Severn Valley Railway we get a normally off limits to the general public visit to one of the two signal boxes that control Bewdley Station, with a rich difference of signalling including absolute block and Token systems and some bidirectional control through the small station area.
We also get a short look at the South end of the station controlled by the other Signalbox (Bewdley South) which we’l visit another time.
I've always been fascinated by the old mechanical signal box. It's a work of art no matter what railway company.ive been.inside the box at bishop's leadiyard I was mist impressed. I've also been inside one of the few remaining mechanical signal systems boxes in new Zealand. At the ferrymead heritage park down here in christchurch. Brilliant.
If you’ve any photographs we’d be delighted to have them and post them with due credit on the main IRSE Minor railways Facebook pages sir
Bewdley Texaco garage behind is similar to Budnic Hill and Mevagissey, St Ives seaside place because nothing much the same
I wonder when was the last time lever 33 (the platform starter for the old Tenbury route) was pulled off....?
Why is the instructor wearing a Drivers jacket?
A bit of slack working going on there with that TOS on the token block Dom! Haha;)
