Arley Signalbox

We visit the Severn Valley Railway again ,this time to take a look around Arley Signalbox and some of the movements on the steam gala Sunday, thanks to the Severn Valley Railway and our signaller and guide Paul Parsons.

Has always amazed me that the signal & points were controlled simply by levers connected to chains and cables. That's quality engineering.

What would happen in the unlikely even that a token machine ran out of keys?

You can balance them if there’s a magazine to take them back in to the other machine. Or the technician comes rebalances out again. Last option is staff rebalance them one at a time as they have no acceS to inside the machines
