Social Media Is Dying... (Hear Me Out)

- Social media is a delicate and complicated world. In today's day and age we are so obsessed with social media and in reality a huge portion of the world's population just cannot live without it. Social media can be a great tool but at the same time, it can harm your wellbeing and state of mind. It's incredibly saturated and sometimes it's just too difficult to get eyes on your creations, especially if you don't bode well with algorithms.
I want there to be a solution...I don't quite know what the solution is yet but something needs to change. In a packed world where there are so many passionate and hard working individuals...we deserve to be seen and heard & in a better way.

Social media is turning into a loop, of the same comments, the same videos, and the same stupid crap, everyone wants to be on the top, and they don't listen to their fans. CZcams was literally known for the videos it had, gaming, unboxing, vlogs, etc. but now everyone is trying to pick up and milk the tik tok content, we are stuck in an endless loop of stupidity, and desperateness.
I have to agree, it’s a tragedy & I’d like to think there’s hope to turn it around and favour originality and creativity once more
I'm didn't think anyone else really thought of this, so often do I see them 5 second clips of a random portrait video with a mildly related statement on it. But I couldn't agree more with this

yh i feel the same... I ran a small knex tiktok account, knex roller coaster take weeks to build. so I cant just upload daily like these crap tiktokers do. my content takes weeks / months. but if you dont upload daily on tiktok the alg screws you over. made me need to upload compleate wank in order to get views. and you know what that 2-5mil views got me every month??? £50-£60
just not worth the money at all.
I feel for you man. It's truly atrocious. The algorithms clearly don't favour creative content. It takes time to perfect your art and create something engaging that will stick with people for a long time and have true value...it's sad these social media platforms don't understand that. And as you say, it's gutting that even for those sorts of views, you're not rewarded at all fairly financially.
How very interesting that you made this video considering a certain few conversations I've been having recently. 1. My friend is sick to death of YT algorithm. She used to get loads of great suggestions for informative videos that were educational and full of information. Now she gets feckin Beyonce and bullshit like that in her suggestions. It winds her up terribly and she now hates using YT.
2. Willow Bend Zen, one of my top fave meditation channels that I use have actually been demonitised. The community find this appalling as so many insomniacs, people with mental health conditions etc use the channel as practically a life saver. Well, it turns out that advertisers don't want to advertise on meditation channels because they are mostly listened to rather than watched. So, it's all down to greed. If it's the short form vids that bring the dollars, then it's down to greed yet again.
3. Then to top it all, tonight, one of the other very few meditation channels that I use 'Snooze with Sam' announced they have also been demonitised!! I can't get my breath at it. Both of the channels I've mentioned are exquisite. They work so hard and are profoundly creative and inspire the mind to seek out alternative and better paths in life. They are so intelligently put together and this is the way they are treated by YT.
It's uncanny that this is the video you've uploaded today when I've been having precisely this similar conversation with those channels and my friend in recent weeks.
I think your example of the Iceland video is perfect actually. I'll say it loud and clear, it's a stunning piece of work in every way, from the music you composed to the photography and editing. A piece of art that speaks volumes and it deserves hundreds of more views if not thousands. I cannot get my breath at the stagnant way social media is going. It's very frustrating and heart breaking actually.
Also on a political level Alex Belfield who was very contentious on CZcams because he stands for freedom of speech and is outspoken and can be very controversial has had to go behind a pay wall, so many of his subs have switched to seeing him on his own channel that he supplies on his website. Another example of how anything that doesn't meet the inane and increasingly restricting requirements of places like CZcams, are forced out and made to seek alternative ways of communication. Another great video as always. Mum.
Social media is certainly working in very bizzarre ways. There has been channels getting demonetised left right and centre for no valid reason. And now, just pure rubbish is being promoted all the time. It’s a difficult battle.
I think you have to have a passion in what you create to engage people , that shows in the edit and the final finish . Anyone can stand in front of a phone now and dance it’s so easy and that is why we see no originality . Good talk Axel . Loved your Iceland video 👍
