Thanks so much what you say makes sense. After opening it should I rewrap the opened end?
Yes
Hi! Is it best to keep them stored in a fridge with ceramic wrap? Or can we place them in an air tight container? thanks!
if unwrapped best at room temp, view here czcams.com/video/D5OmtK9ABnQ/video.html
Love your collection of tshirts!🖖🏼
Thank you!! I share all my fun ones on social under the handle #TSHIRTTUESDAY, check it out!
Thanks, bud! 😁👍
No problem 👍
Once you slice them, do you put plastic wrap over the cut end then refrigerate?
once cut, any veggie is going to not last very long and cukes are the worst of the bunch.
So is it best to keep the English cucumbers wrapped as they come from the store and in the fridge or should I unwrap them and then put them in the fridge?
wrap
I check these cukes very carefully! Even at the grocery store they get bounced around and damaged. So check carefully because they will go bad real fast if they have a soft spot on them.
Thanks for the tip!
Your shirt is awesome!
Thx!
what rules would i follow for "mini Cucumbers" ? I've looked through alot of videos sorry if youve said this in a different video. Im just not sure whats best. Thanks for your help.
I would try them like slicing cucumbers czcams.com/video/D5OmtK9ABnQ/video.html
What goof I think JJ is. You likely mean to ask : What's the best practice to store those mini Cucumbers that look similar to the English cucumber. And if so then my advise on best practice is to remove cucumbers from packaging and wrap a paper towel around them so each individual cucumber is basically separated from the other and store on the top shelf in the fridge.
Thanks Jerry - good info. As the mini cukes I learned last week are not to go in the fridge and because of your video I now know the ‘English ones are’ and not in the crisper!! Keep the good info. Coming.
Glad to help
Once you slice them how do you store them?
airtight container in fridge, use in 3 days
Thanks
Welcome
Thanks, but do we take the plastic wrap off first to store in fridge?
no
Rise and dry before storing
Standing at my island, slicing half my English cuke, listening to you so I can learn to store the other half so I won't lose it. Note to self: when viewing instructions with this guy, don't have a knife in your hands - spontaneous laughter may occur at any moment! Duly noted. The way I hollered when you slipped in the accent and the high tea! 🤣😄🤣
omg best comment HAHAHA and glad you didnt hurt yourself
I've heard that you should take them out the plastic and wrap them in paper towel then put them on the top shelf of the fridge.
i have not heard
Paper towel will wick off moisture, and auto-defrost fridges dehumidify themselves - and top shelf is right because less dense air rises being less humid. So you heard good and thanks for sharing Suz.
I also heard that not only wrapping them in a paper towel after taking them out of the plastic house but also pricking them with toothpicks
im trying to find out if it's necessary to aggressively clean cucumbers with salt bc these days on social media i see people really really washing the cucumbers before using it but all my life I ate english cucumbers and just rinsed them. Does it depend on the type of cucumber ? in the videos I see it's not english cucumbers they use but it got me thinking if all these years i actually needed to scrub my cucumbers with salt or lay it in salt water before using it
no salt. soak in water with some baking soda, rinse and use
@@jerryjamesstone oh are english cucumbers really that dirty ? 😳
@@jerryjamesstone ty!!!
@@jjonghomo Even if they're wrapped in shrink plastic, I don't know who touched them before being wrapped. I wash them.
@@aweoak7763 ah 😲 okay 👍🏽 ty for the info ❤️
I take them out of the plastic wrap them in a paper towel in a plastic bag in the fridge. They last for ages.
👍
How about English cules that are grown in your garden?
try them on the counter
But the crisper is low humidity. I don't understand.
what part dont you understand
If you use part of the English cucumber should you wrap it back up in plastic?
wrap it up and use in a few days
Nice
Thx!
What about Persian Cucumbers (also referred to as Pickling Cucumbers)? What is the best way to store them? To fridge or not to fridge? That is the question. 😎
adding ot my list
@@jerryjamesstone Thank you. Those are the only cucumbers that I can eat because the others cause Reflux. Sadly, where I live you must buy them in a package of six or so, and they seem to mold and disintegrate in the refrigerator. Sometimes I only want to buy one or two, but that seems impossible. I end up blending the remaining into my V8 Juice from the package that I can salvage. It's not a bad alternative. I just wish I knew how to store them better so they would last longer.
What the heck? How do you store the part that is left after cutting some slices off? Or does everyone but me eat the whole foot long Eng. cuke at one time? Even I know to put it in the fridge but what about half a cuke? Anyone in audience know? Thanks.
lol
I try to gently peel off the plastic, cut the length I want, then twist the plastic leftover end several times until it's snug and refrigerate again.
When I buy I remove that shrink plastic .I wrap it in a kitchen cotton towel & then wrap it loosely around a "plastic sheet" ; to keep the front and back of cucumber open. I slice as I need, eating progressively. For the "Plastic sheet" : Cut the bottom of any plastic bag, now you've 2 openings. Slide the cucumber wrapped in towel in & wrap it loosely. This set up stays as it is until the last slice of the English cucumber. Maximum 10 days.
Basically, hope for the best haha
😀
I forgot I left and left these I'm my trunk of car, three days later I realized and grabbed them thinking they were spoiled, nope they were perfectly fine.
ha
How do you store an Armenian cucumber?
i would try it outside the fridge
Your "English" cucumbers are tiny. They're meant to be about 3 times that size.
size queen
Hi English cucumbers And regular cucumber are some you can eating the same a same.Thank you .God bless you. GUILLERMINA Lopez from El Paso tx
Yes, thank you
a cuke doesnt have any chance of lasting a week at my house!!!
ha
please change your music
lol go away
Oh my God😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂you are very dangrous😂😂😂
Jerry James, normal😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What a load of rubbish I was expecting to see on how to store them not you telling us what we already know
lol
This helped me. I started buying English Cucumbers for the first time and was wondering if they would last longer on the counter versus in the fridge, and this told me exactly what I needed to know: they don't.
Made the mistake of buying a bit too many last time I went shopping thinking they'd last longer since they're wrapped but lesson learned. These are pricier but they definitely seem tastier and "juicier" than any of the standard slicing cucumbers you get here, at least at the grocery store.
Well that was a waste of my 2:58 ... Learned nothing.. Won't be subscribing.
Ok
I always appreciate anyone who takes their time to make a video to try and help us. Thank you Jerry
