Red-winged Starling (Onychognathus morio) Bird Call Video From Olifants Rest Camp
The Red-winged Starling (Onychognathus morio) is generally a fairly uncommon bird species in the Kruger National Park. A great place to see them however, is inside Olifants Rest Camp. There are a number of resident pairs in Olifants, and I think they like this area because of the elevation - the Red-winged Starling likes to nest in high positions. Another place where you can see them regularly is Mlondozi Picnic Spot.
The Red-winged Starling is a striking avian species found throughout the Kruger National Park, captivating observers with its vibrant plumage and lively behaviour. Its glossy black body serves as a dramatic backdrop to its namesake red wing patches, which become especially prominent during flight or displays of courtship.
