That song will hit you harder the older you get.
Yes its hitting harder now. But i dont worry to much . Its done
Indeed. Here am I at 68……..
It's 2024. And this is still a great song and a timeless movie.
Ever stumbled across a song that makes you so happy yet so teary eyed at once? Because they really don’t make ‘em like they used to.
Indeed. This song sounds incredibly up beat, but the lyrics tell a completely different story. Such juxtaposition...
Same here bro... Same here..
Lalo Schiffrin ..
Add me to this..
They used to make them to makes us happy, optimistic, to have an experience, nowdays they want to reeducate us.
Kelly's Heroes - One of the best movies ever!
Absolutely 💯
Kelly Hero s, one of my Favorite movies you never get tried of Watching. Retire Navy Veteran ⚓️
Irish Defence Forces veteran here love this song remember watching this movie during a bad time serving as a peace keeper.first time I laughed in about 3 weeks if I remember 😅
Kelly's Heroes is by far one of my favorite World War II films, even though none of the events depicted in the movie ever happened, except the Americans were fighting Nazi Germany in Europe. Still, this is one of Clint Eastwood's best films with a great supporting cast. Don Rickles in the movie was correct in saying ..."Robbing a Bank behind Enemy Lines could be the Perfect Crime, who's going to know...???"
My favorite part is Carroll O Connors character others them on the radio and thinks they are fighting an epic battle then drives to be part of it. 😆.
@@michaelmorales4381 : Yes, that is a great scene. You'll notice their so called Captain, holding the gifts listening to the whole thing. The young officer knows that the people talking on the radio are his company, and his men, but he has to keep his mouth closed because the General and all of the officers present would ask him..."Why are YOU not there with your men in battle?????" Ha Ha..!!!
@@timothycrowne3193 Don't forget scenes like the captain telling the company "Remember; no looting!" while driving away with a yacht he got his hands on.
Or the one at the end of the movie when the same captain goes into the bank and finds a graffitti reading "Up yours". Clearly the company knew he would go to the bank to get his hands on some goodies
It's a ww2 spaghetti western...it's a great film.
Actually there was a gold heist ,most was never recovered: it's for real them positive waves
Woof Woof !!!
I'm fan of Kelly's heroes. they always give me positive waves!
There you go with them positive waves ! Love ❤️ it
Always a good thing to channel your Oddball waves, as opposed to the Moriarity waves.
True that man
It's that drum beat
"Woof woof!"
Kelly’s Heroes, a movie just as entertaining today as well it was first released in 1970. Superb film cast and memorable soundtrack. Thank you for the excellent video clip to a song that is instantly linked to this memorable film.
Yeah too bad it's Leo Strauss propaganda.
@@maximvsdread1610 Everything Is Propaganda Baby, Some Good Some Bad, Moriarty
@@maximvsdread1610 Or it's just a movie.
@Sam, There's no such thing as 'just'.
@@maximvsdread1610 enough with those negative waves man!!🤪😂
No matter what new movies come out about WWII, Kelly's Heroes still comes out on top as one of the very best. I think the first time I saw it was when I was 11-12 years old, sometime 1989 I would think when I first saw it on TCM. I've been in love with it ever since.
Was about 12 when it was in theaters. I saw it in a drive in theater in 1970.
Agreed 👍
That Oddball was truly 'out there,' but he was there when you needed him, and he got the job done. 👌
I love the way "Oddball" sinks down into the tank. That is an amazing movie, and I never tire of it
I loved it! and I got a nicname❤ 2:46 2:46 LOL...😂
I loved this song when my husband went to Vietnam in 1970!
Hi Rhonda Boncutter I saw your post I hope your husband is ok
Love too on playlist on I-pod 😍🤗
I hope your husband came back safe. His service for America and South Vietnam was not in vain; my significant other is now American (South Vietnamese).
We will always be grateful for Vietnam veterans.
A grateful, current Army lieutenant colonel.
Was born in 73 but id ouv loved to have been der
Another great movie I saw when I was a kid, at least the tanks were real or good make up not an M47 painted in grau, and Donald Sutherland was really great, one of the few actors as good as a comedian and in dramas
This is the song that I would love played at my funeral with everyone of my friends and family singing this song because I think the lyrics to this song is very meaningful to me and people that have passed on. Lot's Of Love From Karl Fox In England XXX
A man of good culture I see, I second that brother! I've lived this song for most of my life during my truly foolish days for damn sure. They need to play this followed by Bad Moon Rising at my funeral! Greetings and salutations from Arkansas USA! 👍
Right back at you, Karl - may that funeral be far, far in your future.
Hang on . . . if these lyrics are true to someones life then maybe they could expect pretty much no one at their funeral, because of the burnt bridges.
I'll be honest, this song could be about me too in so many ways. I guess It's a sad warning !
Oddball "dont hit me with them negative waves so early in the mornin"
O baby!!!!!!!
Sutherlands' character is the only thing I couldn't stand about this movie. NOBODY acted like him in the 1940s. Damn hippies...lol...
@@maximvsdread1610 in did my lord!!
@@maximvsdread1610 I always thought that too lol
@@maximvsdread1610 Hippies of sorts existed in many modern wars. There were people like that in the Civil War, for example.
This was one of my brother's favorite songs.
R.I.P., Dave ❤
I still have it on 45 my friend, from all those years ago. I was 11 when my Mum took me to see the film for the first time in 1970. God Bless your Brother my friend 🙏
So very sorry
My sister just loved this movie and the song. RIP "D". ❤😢
Friends all tried to warn me
But I held my head up high
All the time they warned me
But I only passed them by
They all tried to tell me
But I guess I didn't care
I turned my back and
Left them standing there
All the burning bridges that have fallen after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermore
Joey tried to help me find a job
A while ago
When I finally got it I didn't want to go
The party Mary gave for me
When I just walked away
Now there's nothing left for me to say
All the burning bridges that have fallen after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermore
Years have passed and I keep thinking
What a fool I've been
I look back into the past and
Think of way back then
I know that I lost everything I thought I that could win
I guess I should have listened to my friends
All the burning bridges that have fallen after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermore
Burning bridges lost forevermore
And here I thought I was the only one that paid attention to the lyrics of that song❤
@@jadeblues357 no you are not the only one who paid attention to the lyrics, I am guilty too. It's an excellent song.
Same
I want to learn this on the harmonica!
Just about every actor in this movie went on to very well known. Beautiful casting, great locations, props. Just a gem 💎
And in spite of all the other awesome stuff he's done, this is the one that DEFINES Donald Sutherland for me. There will just never be anyone else like Oddball.
@@KipIngram it was on a document y that covered the film, Donald was quite ill at the time and the movie producers did worry he would not last the shoot. (it would not have made a bad last movie for him but thankfully he has produced a lot of great stuff since)
Favorite song of all time, one of my favorite movies, can't get much better than this.
Mine, too! 1970!
A magnificent film, full of life, all the fine actors put together, the perfect words and music.
Saturday Tv , Kelly’s Hero’s ! Great child hood memories!!! “ you think
A hero is some sort of New York sandwich 🥪 😂”
It's amazing what a group of guys can accomplish when they have the right motivation.
Seen this movie God knows how many times, then went out and bought the CD. One of my absolute all time favourites.
Timeless the theme song still popular today even the movie after 47 years
I just want to say all the people that had a review here for Kelly’s heroes thank you very much for all the positive waves it is my favorite movie of all time
I am a 52 year old British person. My Late Mother and I watched this film. We enjoyed it. Nothing needs to be said
3 channels and cowboy films Sunday afternoons, good old days everywhere closed Sunday.
I watched it with my late father and a friend of his, who had served in Korea. They had a laugh together. Many years ago now.
Oh, well then it MUST be good!!
Fantastic film remember watching with my dad when a boy he's long gone and I'm 55 always brings back memories of him ❤️ 2022 still watching as I speak.
A great song for a great movie. I first saw this movie at the Acapulco Princess hotel in February 1974 when I was twelve. I have long ago lost count over how many times I watched it since.
This movie is FLAWLESS.
Hell YES !!!
Well as long as you don't get picky about things like the Sherman's mounting the wrong main gun ;) (Which granted was common for Hollywood of the time. They still had access to real surplus tanks, and couldn't be too choosy about minor details)
@@andrewtaylor940 That was just Oddball fooling you with a 90mm extension pipe om the end. ;)
@@madquest8 I'll honestly take actual Sherman's on screen even if the details aren't 100% perfect over the CGI crapfests they spit out these days.
One of the absolute best of all time.
Still enjoy this movie 50yrs after first seeing it. Great cast & movie soundtrack.
Hard to believe I was 15 when this came out. I remember every boy in the neighborhood lining up to see this. Even in 1970 we knew the cast was really something special. The characters they played were perfect real personality fits. For me the most memorable scene was Odd Ball leading the tanks out of the tunnel and blowing up the German freight train station, blasting away to a country song I still to this day do not know and ending with "I've been working on the railroad". I've got to find this on Blu-Ray. They don't make'em like they use to!!!!!
All the people that disliked are carying the negative waves.
Wonderful film - brings back memories of my late son and now watch it with his son. This song is such a poignant commentary on my life…..
23rs of June is 50th (GOLDEN) anniversry of this masterpiece. ;)
Great film and Sutherland was, as always, brilliant.
Great movie, wonderful cast and outstanding soundtrack…loved it from when I first watched it way back in the 70s
This film was a work of genius
Absolutely 💯
An unforgetable beautiful song!
Definitely.
One of the best assets a movie can have a good soundtrack
Drinking a little wine, eating a little cheese, catching a few rays. Definitely an anti-social type. Quit with the negative waves Morriardi. It is a mother, wonderful bridge. Off, Wuff, Wuff. Wuff.
"Oh, I only ride 'em, I don't know what makes 'em go." classic line!
That's my other dog impression
Thanks for the goodness to include Eastwood, Margolin, O'Connor, MacLeod, Rickles, Savales and Sutherland.
And many of you are service members. Thanks for the laughter
Keith, Army, Lieutenant Colonel.
Col, the scene where Big Joe squares up the team in front of the farmhouse, is the most realistic portrayal of squad level US Army, I've ever seen in film. Lol. Golden classic!
Karl-Otto Alberty all time best Kraut
This song really hits home about ones attitudes, mistakes, and regrets in their past.
Great cast, great film ….and one hell of a theme tune! Fantastic. Downloaded this song and always happy when it turns up on shuffle
Nostalgia deluxe.
I was 6 years old when this movie came out. Takes me back, a lifetime ago and many memories.
Me too! 6 years old! Have a good one my friend, woof woof!
I liked this movie very much. I still do.
I saw this film in the cinema with my brother in law, his 50 anniversary was today. I lost my wallet in the cinema all those years ago. Went back the next day and got it back intact. Great film fantastic sound track. The cast is brilliant. Up there with the best movies. The shots in this clip of some great actors are bloody fantastic 😊
Even now in December 2020,I'm still watching this film! An amazing masterpiece, the actors all top grade, the script first class, the action terrific, and the plot, unbelievable! But what a possibility!
That cuz they just don't make movies like this anymore, excellent movie excellent music story and cast.
I love this movie. The song is excellent. I'm going to have to order this and watch it again because I was younger when I saw it and didn't keep up with everything going on. The cast is top notch!
I've seen it so many that i count it!
An outstanding piece of movie history. Possibly the greatest film ever made. The music helps make it so good.
Epic Eastwood movie with awesome supporting cast, one of the only comedy war movies that carry a great story shown in classic Eastwood style
A crossing between The Dirty Dozen and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (WWII style). A bank, 14 thousand gold bars, and three tiger tanks are waiting...
Woof woof
Great song - great movie - and what a cast.
a classic. i was in grade school. rode my bike several miles and left it in the alley. no danger of being stolen in those days.
Great song from a great movie!
This movie had a huge impact on my life.
The movie....the ACTORS (so many of them gone now....).....and topped off with this for the musical score. I wish I could watch it for the first time....a hundred more times. In a weird twist of fate....my combat patch IS the 35th I.D. the same as their unit patch. That puts a smile on my face.
Love this movie.
Me too
Always loved this movie. Payed attention to the song for the first time in ages. Great hook and so nostalgic, thanks for posting it
Must have been an absolute blast to make this movie. Because it sure is a blast to watch it. Even after all these years.
I have this movie on DVD 📀 I like it
All the burning bridges
That have fallen after me
All the lonely feelings
And the burning memories
Everyone I left behind
Each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermore
The German dude had the fattest lips I ever saw on a dude. L
This was Clint Eastwood at his coolest ! Just an incredible cast & never a dull moment ! My favorite
war/robbery heist/
comedy ... just discribing the movie
puts it in a class
by itself ... they just
do not put movies
like this together
anymore. Also love
the Mike Curb "Kelly"s Heroes" movie theme song
... always brings a

happy memories ! 😅

FIRST-TIME I WATCHED THIS CLASSIC WAS DECEMBER 1970,,GREAT ACTORS ALL ROUND,,EVERY TIME I WATCH THIS EPIC MOVIE,I GET TO APPRECIATE THE QUALITY/CHARISMA/SKILL OF THE WHOLE SET AND THE BEAUTIFUL STORYLINE OF THE MOVIE 🎬 🎞 🎥 🎦 📽
Man I love this movie and music. REAL American movie. Cant see those anymore...
Best movie ever! Clint with a tommygun.... awesome 🇺🇲
Perfection in every aspect! One of my most beloved films.
AWESOME MOVIE, JUST WATCHED AGAIN TONIGHT 🤩🤩
Great movie and great cast
A proper caper of a movie! Love it!
My Dad, who fought in Patton's Third Army, loved this movie!! I even got a few war stories out of him while watching this. Typical vet, never wanted to talk about the war and the more that I have learned about where and when he served, I understand why. I remember one time watching this with him and the scene where they guy with the red scarf opens up those window shutters and gets his machine gun rolling, my Dad was like, "That's it! Get that BAR up and running!" He was a scout in the 66th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, part of the Fourth Armored Division and he saw a lot...
One favourites war movies and perfect theme song ! Still sounds good!
And movie still very good !
This is my go-to watch each Memorial Day. What a great movie.
Excellent job of editing. If there ever was to be an official music video for this song this should be it.
Agreed 👍
“Why don’t you quit your bitching and remember what’s at the end of the line.” Love this movie
"There you go again with them negative waves, Moriarty!" A certain dog impersonator
I was fortunate enough to see this at the drive in and it was a double bill ..
Whatever good things you hear about the 60s and 70s multiply
by 100 and that’s how fun it was !.
So long as you weren't drafted and sent to Vietnam.
@STRIKERDelta2387 those were the days of "don't ask don't tell" one of my uncles went into the recruitment office holding his best friend's hand and the drafters said "No" to both of them. He avoided it just like that
Loved that movie
Great song ! When I was young it’s like when I turn around everything just went up in flames
Classic movie, Classic cast, great tune, Well done to mike etc, my 2nd fav movie score ever, well done to all the nice comments before mine😍😀👍👍👍👍👍
Great tune and awesome movie! If you haven't seen it before, highly recommended. A true 1970s all-star cast, too: Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalis, Don Rickles, Donald Sutherland and Carroll O'Connor.
Love this song from the greatest bank heist movie ever filmed. The good guys get away with the loot
UP YOURS BABY!!!!
😆 🤣
😂
Go look for my kilroy was here...😂
Well done thank you.
Man this brings back many memories watching this with my grandmother rip my love
Loved Donald Sutherland in the movie! Woof Woof Woof!
One of the best songs ever written
It does it for me it's mellow but pumped at the same time, I think it's the drums
Fabulous music - and song! - Great story. Top notch acting. Killer dialogue.
Put them all together and what do you get?
Why, a masterpiece, of course! 'Nuff said.
Only problem with it these days, they gave it a crappy new color grading with over the top yellow and orange and that pronounced blue everywhere.
My cousin and I always watched this film when it was on each of us doing the quotes ..like "The bridge is up!!"... "No it aint"...."Don't look at me Oddball.."etc.. unfortunately as families do we had a massive fall out and never got on again.. We tried to reconcile but he died before we could get together again.. Burning bridges are probably really lost for evermore.
LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!
Still one of my alltime favorites!
One of my favourite films ever
Great movie !
and so funny
This film I could watch again and again.❤❤❤
Favorite heist movie ever
Great flick one of Clints very best. love the song "Burning Bridges"
I really enjoy Kelleys Heroes every time it comes on. It was so entertaining with the cast of characters they had. ❤I loved Clint Eastwood & Sutherland Rickles were funny. And I really enjoyed the song that played.❤❤❤
我很小的时候看过一次 那个时候是要看VCD光盘的,只看了一次就永远记在心里了,伟大的作品🎉
What a cast! Couldn't make a movie like this today. First, you don't have the talent that you have here. Second, if you did, you could never afford it. Have watched this over and over, but never get tired of seeing it.
What a great tribute.
I saw this movie with my dad and it was amazig and very funny miss the old days
