I have never been more lost in my life than when Apple Maps told me to turn left when I should have turned right, then about a mile down the road said "prepare to exit your vehicle and continue on foot." This would have been difficult seeing as to the left of the road was a cliff down and to the right was a cliff up. About half a mile past the continue-on-foot point, the map simply disappeared. That night, my friend and I did everything that horror movies say we should be dead... including following the stranger from the gas station in the beater pickup who offered to lead us to our destination in the middle of the night. Multiple people almost got shot that night... THANKS Apple Maps...
In Google maps, it’ll tell you a fast way to get home without it being too inconvenient. In Apple Maps, it will tell you the most ass backwards way to get there, going through neighborhoods making you do a bunch of turns, and the better route was just the highway
This is so true. I thought it was a joke but my wife accidentally used Apple maps instead of Google maps and it was virtually this exact scenario. It kept prompting us in circular routes, never was in real time data, and didn't even have the endpoint we inputted originally. lol. I honestly thought something was wrong with her phone, when it was just Apple maps instead of Google maps. lol.

Apple maps once told me to drive over a sidewalk, into a grass field and across some train tracks. I could have used google maps, had an old school GPS for when my phone shut down in the windshield because of the heat, but I used Apple as an excuse for not showing up for work at a new job. Made sure to take a screen shot of Apple Maps to show the boss the next day... And no, I didn't go off road and into some train track on purpose just to blame Crapple and get a day off... as far as my boss knew. 😉👌Seriously, I didn't. Apple maps was really broken back then, and I did use it as an excuse to not go to work that day.
WAZE is actually pretty good so if google maps isn't doing it for you give that a try. Honestly phone GPS seems to be more reliable and better updated than dedicated GPS these days.

Honestly I prefer apple maps. Very rarely it trips out and does things, but prefer it over google maps completely. Works well with carplay, easy to see, and now has alerts for cops/stuff on the road like waze.

Yeah I stopped being a doordasher during a “brief” 1 month interruption in the standard navigation service where they forced us to use Apple Maps instead of what we wanted. I got told to go through down a school campus road and through a locked gate no less than 10 times. Take multiple illegal turns. Get told at the last second that I was in the wrong land and so much more. But thankfully in the time I raged about it I was able to get an actual job that pays an actual salary. So thx Apple Maps?

I do long hauls and short hauls, I've used Waze, Apple Maps, and Google Maps, as well as several independent devices... Waze is amazing if you are on populated routes with a lot of other Waze users, Google Maps is usually perfect since you can use the GPS with the Satellite images.... Apples Maps is also just fine. I drive for a living, to destination I have no clue how to get to, and have had zero issues with his at all.
I use apple maps for my Domino's job and it works pretty great most of the time.. until it tries to take me to the Mopac Expressway or 183 for no reason because it assumes highways are faster than the frontage roads... completely ignoring traffic.
I remember I needed to get to work last week and knew the route just fine but figured there would be something quicker and checked apple maps and it added about 6 minutes to my trip
jokes aside, Apple Maps has improved and is now better than Google atleast in the US (in my opinion) so if you have an iPhone id recommend Apple Maps for sure

I have never actually had issues using Apple Maps. I enjoy it way more than google maps or wayze or however you spell it. However I think the navigation built into Tesla’s is the best nav system ever. Especially with FSD turned on.
