Installing a 272 performance cam in a KA24E

Intake: Valve lift .420/ Duration 266
Exhaust: Valve lift .429/ Duration 272
Installed this 272 cam from Schneider Racing Cam. This is with the hydraulic lifters. Raced it at Barona Drags. 1/8 of a mile at 10.30 with just headers and this cam. Still got a few things to come so stay tuned and subscribe. Thanks for watching.

Cool project, these trucks are the best little drift trucks, so much fun. I'd put that air noodle-thingy back on the intake though. Something about timing the intake pulses, somebody smarter than me told me off about it 😅 also allows for cooler air coming in

did it require milling and was it drop in?

Is a cammed hardbody practical for daily driving or will my oil pump hate having to catch up with my rpms on cold start ?
Cam wont make much Difference from Stock. these Engines perform best stock or straight up Boosted or tuned. That’s the only way to see potential

where did you get the header and i took the top of the engine apart and i now understand about the lifters
Did you have to realign the cam the same way the old one came out?
We set everything TDC I believe and then took it off. Installed the new cam in the same position the other can was in. Hope this helps.

Hoi! This is actually my cousins truck. He installed a 276 from Schneider Cams in San Diego and Doug Throley headers back then. You can reach him on Instagram @nismo.matt for more info. If money and state regulations are not an problem though, I’d suggest a 300 cam with the mechanical rocker arms from o&j performance. Once you do that, might need to upgrade fuel, tune, spark, etc. to run better. 93 hardbody was my first truck and I beat a bunch of Toyotas back then haha. To be fair I lost a few times to, mostly from other Nissans and Toyotas that were more set up than mine. Hope this helps.🤙🏽

Hi from Australia. I swear my U12 Pintara has a 272 cam, I remember that number from years ago (I could be wrong tho). Any idea what the 240sx you guys have over there comes with?
@@guahangarage I eventually found some spec for the 240sx and hardbody you guys have www.ka-t.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5223 but couldn't find anything for the Pintara, though it has the same head as the 240sx with the 40F stamped on it, so I can only assume it would have the same cam as the 240sx.
I just installed a 266 Schneider in my ka24e hardbody, and was wondering if you would know how to get rid of the lifter noise ?
What kind of difference did you feel in the truck?
Better response and mor mid- top end pull. Not a drastic change, but you can definitely notice the difference.
What about the piston and the camshaft, which stage

No need to tune. Probably could tune it to get more out of the it, but we never tried.

Can’t hear it because of the music
Definitely will work on trying to balance the background music. I only put it on the video to avoid copy right crap on CZcams because I listen to music when I work. According to there rules, I can get flagged for having someone’s song in my video without the owners permission. Definitely trying to stay under CZcams’s radar 😂
