Thanks for the shout out again Adam - much appreciated - I finally got around to sitting down and watching the video today. I have tried some long exposure panos but, like you pointed out, didn't go too long as the light can change too much by the time you get to the last shot, especially if shooting near sunset.
Absolute pleasure David. Thanks for watching.
I did a night shot across Baltimore Harbor of the domino plant. 30sec each 12 photos. It won a contest Hudson Henry was holding.
Well done, Adam! I love the other-worldly look of long exposure photos and your final shots here are exquisite and painterly. Now I have to go try it.
Awesome! Thank you for watching.
Definitely agree with your comments about David, he is a very talented photographer. Very nice series of images today as well Adam, especially the final 2 images. When using my 16 stop I do a quick test at iso 6400 to get an indication of the exposure before dialling in the long exposure time at ISO 100.
Thanks Scotty 👍
Those early shots are amazing and how incredibly different a few minutes makes!!!
Beautiful images. I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of long exposure panoramas. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Steve
I watch your channel for the inspiration you give. A bonus in this video is the panoramic long exposure. Never would have thought of that, so thanks a lot! Your photos came out great!
such sublime images of the tree my favorites. the second image of the lake is also fantastic. I always feel at home on your channel, like sitting next a fire having a nice conversation with a friend
Thank you very much. That's very nice to read.
Adam - the final image was a cracker. I love long exposures and I will give long exposure panoramic photography a go. Keep up the great work
Thanks so much
Been following you for years Adam, your personality is magnetic, and your videos are inspiring! I always get a “lift” in my day after watching! Now, time to create some long exposure panos! 👍🏼
Wow, thanks Mark. My ego enjoyed your comment very much.
@@Firstmanphotography Ha! Too funny! 😜
Very last image is epic!!! Well done Adam
Thanks Chris. Very kind.
Great concept! I never thought about panoramic long exposures!
Love the very final pano shot. Will certainly give this technique a go.
Fantastic to hear
Also, the long exposure and at the end came out great. I was thinking around 45 seconds even to make stitching work, but I see you were able to push that and get awesome results.
Very condition dependant.
No, never tried LEP photos. But after seeing the stunning images you've created, I'll certainly try: there is nothing to lose in so doing! The final photo was gorgeous as well - the clouds are stunning.
Thanks. You're definitely right; nothing to lose.
Love the 2nd image at the end, great colours
Did last long but was very glad to capture it.
*Didn't
Yes, i have done some LE with a multi image panoramic finish. A good fun. You also nailed the shot 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks so much
I agree! Have done a long panoramic exposure quite a lot, but not as long as the ones that you have done. Mine tend to be 30 secs max, but I like the effect.
Great to hear Bob....and thanks
Great to see you looking so well Adam better than that feeling well. Never tried long exposure pano before but i think I'll give it a go after seeing this. Loved the shot you showed before the time lapse, excellent. 👍😎
Thanks John. Appreciate that.
Fabulous photos Adam. I am a happy snapper but you and Paul Crompton and other well known people are truly artists at the top of the tree !!
Just saw your video. You did three of my favourite things. Single trees, panoramics and long exposures. I have never done them a pano with a long exposure. However, now that I am retired it is another item added to my bucket list. I am also a big fan of David Queenan and live in the same area so have taken shots at the same locations he has. Although not quite as stunning as his.
Wow, those last images are absolute belters, I've not tried really long exposure's, I hope to get round to learning sometime soon, cracking videos Adam.
Thanks, catch you on the next one.
I love cloud movement shots. I don't know why I haven't done any myself. Consider me inspired.
Spectacular long exposure panos! I have to try this! Thanks for taking me along!!
Texture in the cloud for that last shot and time lapse was stunning. Maybe there is some benefit to all this wet weather after all 😂
Ha yeah. That should make us winners again this week then!!
Wow wow amazing shot love the colours. Well worth the time it took .
Cheers thanks
Impressive!! Those are beautiful long exposure panoramas. Makes me want to try that. Thanks!
Go for it!
Excellent idea, kick myself for never trying it! I certainly will in the very near future, thanks!
Have fun!
Nice series of images Adam. I hadn't considered long exposure panonramic's but will give this a try now. Thank You.
Thanks Adrian. Enjoy
Hi Adam, I had never considered combining long exposures with panoramic photography, but after seeing the wonderful results you have achieved in this video, I will definitely be giving it a go next time I am out. Well done on another well produced and inspirational video. Your work always inspires me to try new things and, while I don't always comment, I am always impressed. Cheers, mate.
Thanks so much Gary. Glad you're gonna give it a go.
Great video Adam. Loved the last 2 images. I had never thought of doing this, will have to give it a try now.
Have fun!
two amazing shots...Im definitely gonna have to try out long exposure panos...
Fantastic to hear.
Thanks Adam. As inspiring as always, very much appreciate the work you put into making your top qaulity content.
I appreciate that! Your comment means a lot.
Absolutely a very nice results you achieved. When the conditions are right (not too much wind) in the right place I will try and give it a go. Well done Adam .
Best of luck!
Thanks to you, I’ll be trying a long exposure panoramic! WOW! Love your results! Thanks for taking me along!
beautiful images at the end there Adam, just stunning.atb.
Thank you! Cheers!
I have not thought about a long exspoure and pano, as I felt it would stich, but now I will try it and see thank you for the inspiration
Interesting and informative video, as usual. And stunning final shots. Thanks for sharing 💙
Thanks so much
Never tried a long exp pano, but this is defintely an inspiration to go and have a go. Gorgeous shot, great Timelapse.
I'd never considered a long exposure pano before watching this, but now I have to try it! Beautiful images at the end🙂. To those that say to me 'long exposure isn't real' I say if you accept a shot with this camera at 1/100th of a second as real , then you can't say one at 100 seconds isn't real - it's the same camera and the same scene!
Thank you for the inspiration
Cheers James
Definitely worth trying. Great results!
Thanks so much
Stunning pictures. Need to try this now
Thanks Julia
Stunning and inspirational. You make me want to move my lazy rear outside and photograph. That says it all.
Get up, get up now!!!
@@Firstmanphotography Thanks so much! I'm on it! :)
Beautiful work again Adam, always inspiring, and that time lapse at the end really was epic. I love long exposure photography, in fact, I was out doing it this morning - love it! :)
Excellent pano Adam I regularly take long exposure panos but mostly for Astro 👍
Awesome.
I need to do more long exposure,, only a few times in my career... but I love it. Beautiful shots Adam!
Thanks Robert
Stunning captures especially the second one. I’ve lost a bit of my mojo and just started exploring long exposure photography and seeing this has given me the push to get out and experiment. Thank you 🙏 📷👍
Great video! I love long exposure photography and that’s actually how I found your channel in the first place, during the Covid pandemic. So it is definitively good to see another video of you on this topic. I try a lot of long-exposures on trees, and love the movement in the tree branches and leaves. Occasionally I try long exposure panoramic, and as I go for movement in branches and leaves that poses an extra challenge, which I find irresistible. Succes rate is low, but I’m living my photography dream in those moments … completely letting go of all stress.
The misses make the successes all the more satisfying.
Great video as always get some great ideas watching you.. Them last 2 photos were amazing
Thanks so much 😊
I never tried long exposure panoramic. Yours look amazing!
Thanks. Always worth a try.
Never tried it, but you have inspired me to give it a shot
Thanks
Have fun!!
Not tried a pano long exposure Adam but now you have me thinking 😀. Yep great time-lapse at the end there 😀
Thanks yeah......was pretty proud of that one.....the reflections made it.
Adam, wow the stitched together panos at the end were amazing. I thought that was a fairly ordinary scene but your finished image was super! Great video
Thanks Gareth. Much Appreciated
Love your work and your videos Adam. The last two images are superb!
Thank you so much 😀
Fantastic images Adam!
Thanks Darren. Appreciate it.
I’ve never tried panoramic LE because I just assumed the clouds would be impossible to stitch. There’s a certain cityscape that would benefit from more than the 21MP of my D500 so you’ve inspired me to give it a crack
Sounds great. The London image required some tinkering to get it right.
Great video Adam. I am a big fan of shooting long exposure but never thought about doing a panoramic shot. Now I’m excited to try it. Thank you for that.
Cheers Katie, great to hear.
Stunning pano results. Another inspirational video Adam, keep them coming.
Will do!!
Another great video Adam.
Thanks again!
Adam, great work indeed! I´ve been wanting to see videos about long expo pano photography for a while, and there are not many around as you may notice. I imagine it´s probably due to the complexities involved, however, I believe it´s fantastic to do so.
I hope you can do another video about long expo photo perhaps in other settings like as sea-scape for instance, which should be even more challenging. At any case, thank you so much for publishing this video since it´s quite inspirational.
Glad it was helpful! Planning to do a seascape version......just need the right conditions!!
Beautiful image, Adam. Yes, I've tried it with seascapes at the ocean. The biggest issue is trying to stitch the water with moving waves. So I blend them as well as stitch them. It's a ton of work and I've only tried it a couple times. Landscapes with only say moving clouds are much easier than around water. I have done that as well in the Grand Tetons. It has a wonderful effect.
It was easier thanks to the calm conditions. It could work with seascapes if you did a longer exposure time to smooth it out even more. Although, losing the detail of the waves may not be the look you want.
Awesome results on those 2 long exposures Adam, really enjoy long exposures but haven’t tried a pano using that method so one for the bucket list. Thanks for sharing
Cheers Ross. Appreciate it
Really nice to see you out and about Adam, capturing beautiful photographs and challenging yourself like always. Loved the video, cheers, from the other side of the pond.
Awesome. Thanks so much
I was thinking about long exposure landscapes the past few days, so this video is timely. We are having a lot of great overcast weather here on the NW coast of Tasmania and at this time of year we get an apricot coloured horizon that lasts until late morning if it's overcast. I've mapped out a couple of nice foregrounds, and since we don't get large surfs, I think it's an ideal way to get some good pic of the ocean here.
Sounds perfect!!
Great images Adam. You seem to convey the struggles we all have to get out there and take photos.I find motivation difficult in the summer time It's great that you gave David a mention as I've met him a couple of times on locations and he's a fantastic photographer.
Cheers David 😊
Been watching your CZcams channel for a fair bit, and they have been very informative. Keep up the great work!
Stunning images! I need to get out and do some long exposures... Just need to find suitable subject matter.
Check out David's work.....you'll be inspired.
I like the final two images great, excellent work Adam. I like taking long exposures, which I do quite a lot, how ever my wife does not like them as they are not to everyone taste. Now I have seen your results of pano long exposures I must give it a go, as you said it raises a lot of challenges. Great video Adam.
Always great to see you back out at it Adam!!!
Thanks mate
Really enjoyed the video mate 👍
Thanks mate 👍
Amazing Vibes and great shots, I love it buddy . Wishes from India 🇮🇳
Thank you so much 😀
Gotta love some long exposure shots, but loved the last image with the cloud reflections 🥰📷👍🏻
Appreciate that. Thanks
I never thought of long exposure panos. Now I want to try it out. Thank you Adam
Glad to hear. Thanks for watching
good idea mate, i love long exposure but forgotten about doing it..
Ha. Me too.
Cool video, Adam. I've not done a long-exposure panorama. I'll have to try it sometime. Maybe a seascape!
Could work for that. I'd probably recommend doing a longer exposure time or it might look a bit weird in the water.
Must admit both the end shots worked well
All that gear, that trunk on your back, I know the video equipment, sound gear and finally a DSLR plus long lenses! I'm gone! I always got away with very liitle gear! Back pain, feeling your heart and lungs? It don't sound good!, to me! The images are good! I've done panoramas with my Leica M3, 50mm lens. I must have taken 45 minutes, to get it ready, horizon etc! It was my 1st real success! Maybe again one day! Digital is easier! But film will be my way! Bravo.
Good luck!
Great pano image Adam - No, I haven't tried it - yet - but now I will :)
You're looking trim bud. I'd be happy with any of those images from your first location. Loved this. ❤
Thanks 👍 Still got a bit to go.
Great images Adam. I'd appreciate a reminder of how you choose to stich your panoramas together, especially if you have modified your technique. So how are you coping without the office/studio to escape to? Terry.
Pretty good Terry. Thanks for asking. My children are 3 years older than when I last worked from home and are now much more independent; meaning I can get a lot more done.
I use Lightroom to stitch the majority of my panos. I had to do some blending on that London shot though if memory serves.
Nice picture
Cheers
Thanks again Adam from ( Rick Carroll ) in Ottawa Canada.
Thanks Rick. Appreciate your support
Great video Abam. In all my years, I have never attempted a pano of anything..
Do you have to use a printer that uses long or roll paper?excellent video, thank you
You can, but there's also A4 panoramic paper available.
Going to give that a go Adam but worried that my 8GB RAM computer will struggle to stitch the images together! Also got to get my backside outside even if it’s going to rain
Lots of chat, but the final two shots were worth the wait!
Absolutely stunning images, Adam. No, I haven't tried it, as I've only recently just bought my first DLSR camera but will be having an attempt at it at some stage.
Sounds like a plan!!
@@Firstmanphotography Sure does 😁
it reminded me that as a photographer I try to photograph things that people don't see or can't see, the same applies when making movies 😅
I'm sure you've thought of this before but you could use a rocket-blower to get rid of drips during a long-exposure
Nice
Hi Adam. Love the channel. So why did you start in the middle? Might be a silly question but new to panoramic, most videos I have watched go left to right. Keep up the great work.
Hi Malcolm, I started from the left too.......to follow the cloud movement
I do them
Nice video. I think the underexposed first shot had plenty of moody character!
It was too noisy when i increased the exposure.
@@Firstmanphotography Sometimes a bit of grain works! 😂
Interesting, I have only tried panoramic
Give it a go, nothing to lose!!
@@Firstmanphotography I have done daytime composite photography
Great thoughts as always. I agree long exposure is real. It's the same as when we look at the night sky and are seeing stars as they were long ago because of the distance it took the light to reach us.
Great point
Hey Adam!...
Beautiful work as usual!
I got a nice one on 5 shots @ 1/8s from Brooklyn to the skylines of Manhattan at around 8:00pm a couple of nights ago.
